About the Host:
Ray Bourcier - Stay-at-home father, husband, author, podcaster
A college and university environmental science graduate, Ray grew up in a toxic family and a toxic situation in Northern Ontario, Canada. As a result, he experienced the first of many PTSD events at age five, which would begin his nearly three-decade struggle with anxiety and depression.
Spending most of his life in survival mode without support, he eventually discovered and developed ways to overcome his struggles when nothing else worked.
With a passion for helping others, he made it his mission to help transform the lives and impact the worlds of eleven million people so they too can give their best to themselves, their loved ones, and their career.
An ancient Chinese proverb that Ray loves states, "To know the road ahead, ask those coming back." Ray is on the road back to offer you the support you need every step on your journey so that you, too, will be on the same road back. Ray believes that only those who've walked that road can truly understand the struggles that you go through.

Welcome to Episode Four from surviving to thriving. If you're a parent struggling with anxiety and depression, and feel like you're in a constant state of survival mode, then you're in the right place. I am re burski and I'm here to support you overcome your struggles. So you will get out of survival mode and start thriving. This show is not about information. We're about transformation. We're about taking unwavering action. I'm honored and grateful to be here to join you along your journey towards giving your best to yourself, your loved ones and your career. In today's episode, we're going to be putting the all the pieces together of what we've talked about in the past three episodes, and go through the exact blueprint I've been using to transform my life when everything else failed. A Blueprint built off of science that I guarantee will work for you when you take unwavering action. So if you haven't downloaded the first three episodes yet, I strongly suggest you go back and listen to all three of them before moving forward with today's show. To begin today's episode, a word of caution. You can waste decades, like me, waiting for change to come. But the reality is that nothing changes. If nothing changes. changes don't happen out there. It starts from within, always. And it starts with a decision. You have to decide that you want the change you've been waiting for a decision is saying yes to the one thing and no to everything else. And where people get stuck is exactly where I got stuck. And I want better for you so that you can save not only time, but frustration. You see, most people think that a decision to do something is just a one time thing. This is why so many people feel like they fail and give up on their goals and their dreams. Have you ever found yourself struggling with this in the past? If so, it's not your fault? Well, not entirely. You see, your conscious mind can only hold upwards of seven to 10 pieces of information at any given time. And fun fact of the day. This is why phone numbers aren't generally longer than 10 digits. Willpower is one of those things that occupies space in your conscious mind. It's not something that the subconscious mind can automate. So what happens to willpower, when the kids are screaming, the significant other is doing something that irks you, your colleagues at work are slacking off. Or even more work is being put on your plate. Your car breaks down, you get an unexpected bill in the mail. What's going to take a backseat will willpower. You can't rely on willpower to make the change for you. You can't rely on making one decision and expecting to see results. Here's the reality. transformation and change aren't just a one time decision. It's a decision you have to make every moment of every day. Are you familiar with the same out of sight out of mind? This is another area where many people including myself get tripped up. Change won't happen. If it doesn't stick around your active consciousness. Progress is easily missed, lost and forgotten. And this is where science comes in. There's a saying in science that what gets measured gets transformed. To start a new journey with a new and better destination. You need to start by taking small steps which can have a massive impact in the short term. especially the long term.Ray Bourcier:
It starts with the from survival mode to thriving blueprints that I want to give to you for free at the end of this episode, and the best part is that they take only 10 to 15 minutes each day to achieve tangible results. Using science, in order to transform your unconscious, you must bring it to the conscious, it starts by first pulling yourself out of autopilot mode, where we spend 85% of our Living Day, visually see where you're at. Then, knowing where you're at, you're able to focus on where you want to go. Now, there are two blueprints, one for the morning and one for the evening. But these are just simply daily journal blueprints. They're scientific reasoning behind every aspect of these templates, they work in tandem with each other as a map. To get to a new destination, you have to know where you want to head towards, and where you want to head away from. And the more consistent action you take at filling these out every day, the more you will see positive results. Remember the fundamentals of the one method, taking unwavering action leads to traction, traction leads to momentum, momentum leads to building hope, and hope leads to building belief, you have to see it before you believe it. These templates will help you to see it so that you can start to believe it. This will work for you when nothing else has, because they worked for me, and I'm no one special. If they can help overcome my decades of struggles, I truly believe they will help you because they allow you to take back control, you become the captain of your own ship again. They allow you to choose your own destination, not have it chosen for you. The only thing stopping them from working. The only thing standing in your way from taking back control and starting a new journey with a better destination is you you have to decide to take those 10 to 15 minutes each day to give yourself your best. A decision is a choice to say yes to one thing, and no to everything else. Remember that you can't give those you love most, or your career or your dreams your best until you can first give it to yourself. Otherwise, you're simply giving them the rest of what you have to offer. And if you aren't able and willing to give yourself and your mental health your best for 10 to 15 minutes a day, then you will continue to find that old ways won't open new doors, your wheels will keep spinning and you will continue to go nowhere fast. Everything starts and ends with you. Which is your greatest superpower. You have the power and ability to take back control because your struggles need you more than you need them. And this is where support plays a pivotal role in achieving your goals. Do you remember that study from Brown University, you're 95% more likely to achieve your goals with the right support. And that's why we're building our Empower up tribe to help support you on your journey. So that you have those there to cheer you on. And those to help you when you fall. I look back at my journey. And I see the writing on the wall that I could never see. But Hindsight is 2020. When you have these struggles, you can't see what's in front of you. These struggles act like a dense fog. But once that fog starts to lift, you're start to see more and more. The right support at the right place and time would have saved me years or maybe a decade off of my journey. That's what I want for you. I don't want you to go through what you're going through for any longer than necessary. And I don't want you to do it alone.Ray Bourcier:
There's a greater chance chance of success when you have the right support when you have the right team when you have the right crew, when you have the right tribe.
