In episode 10, I broke down some lessons from, "Tiny Habits," a book by BJ Fogg that details how your life can change drastically just by performing small habits consistently. Now, it's time to take these lessons and apply them to the job search so you can overcome the mental battle that many job seekers face. Using small, consistent actions when reaching out to recruiters, adding folks on LinkedIn, or editing your resume can transform your job search effectiveness.
Avoidance is an action! Be aware of your thoughts and feelings motivating those actions that you take. Any time your action is motivated from a feeling of fear, or doubt, or frustration, [that action] will never be as effective as something you're aspiring to or running towards.
In this episode, I break down the two steps you must know when it comes to applying habits to your job search. I also cover how to break down the force behind your action, or lack of action and how to reframe that and apply new actions to overcome it.
