We’ve been talking about painting kitchen cabinets–we’ve covered the prep steps and talked about priming, now it’s time to talk about your finish paint. I’m Dan Hansen and this is a Minute at RepcoLite sponsored by Benjamin Moore.
Let’s start with Scuff-X from Benjamin Moore. It was initially designed for high traffic areas in schools, hospitals, and so on . . . but we’ve seen a large number of our professional painting contractors choose Scuff-X for cabinets as well. It resists scuffing better titan anything we’ve ever seen and applies beautifully.
Advance from Benjamin Moore is another great choice. It’s a modified alkyd which means it has some of the application characteristics of an oil-based paint with soap and water clean up. Advance applies beautifully, almost like glass . . . and is perfect for cabinets.
A third option is Optima from RepcoLite. It’s another high end paint that will hold up well, but it’s going to price out a bit lower than the other options.
