Transcripts

Michael:

Welcome back to “Irresistible Communication”.

2

:

Two minutes, one insight

on how to find better

3

:

words

4

:

.

Michael: Isn't it interesting how listen and silent are anagrams?

5

:

Makes it feel like they are

two sides of the same thing.

6

:

And in a way, I think they are.

7

:

When you listen intently,

you become silent.

8

:

And likewise only when you are

silent, can you truly listen.

9

:

But there's more to that.

10

:

When you remain silent, even if

it's just a little longer, you'll

11

:

pick up nuances that you would

miss if you broke the silence.

12

:

I find it fascinating how much we

can learn if we simply stay silent

13

:

for a second longer and let the

other person continue talking.

14

:

Silent is how we pay attention.

15

:

Silent is how we allow others

to open up in a conversation.

16

:

Silent is how we give the space for

their words to unfold naturally.

17

:

And silent is how we reflect

on what is being said.

18

:

In other words, silent is how we

listen for what's really going on.

19

:

Have you experienced those moments where

silence improved your comunication?

20

:

Why not try it out in

your next conversation?

21

:

Just stay silent for one second longer.

22

:

And see what happens.

23

:

Keep lighting the path.

24

:

And share this with a friend.
