A New Tanya class By Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz “The key to draw down the greatest blessings” Tanya Igeret Hakodesh Chapter 23 In pirkei avot chapter 3 Mishna 6 it says עשרה שיושבין ועוסקין בתורה שכינה שרויה ביניהם the high level of Shechina is internalized in the person. The whole reason we were created was to elevate ourselves. This gives us the opportunity for the greatest elevation. We learn this from the verse that says ונקדשתי בתוך בני ישראל & the verse הבדלו מתוך העדה הזאת that 1) you need 10 people to bring in high level of Kedusha 2) than you bring from the level of Makif the greatest blessings. Less that 10 people can receive a reward however the infinite light being internalized is only by 10 people learning Torah. A reward is finite energy that we can receive however the Makif energy remains above us. This energy we can only receive after 120 When the soul leaves our body & only thanks to the Chesed of Hashem that were able to internalize this powerful energy. Angles don’t have the vessel to receive this high level of power. Hence the importance every time 10 Jews meet to schedule time to study Torah & not G-D forbid to sit 10 people & have idle talk as that will cause the shechina to disappear the Zohar says one of the main reasons for us being in exile is that we push away the shechina. The Alter Rebbe pleads with us that between the afternoon & evening service we should study The inner dimension of the Torah the stories of the Torah as all the secrets of the Torah are there & it provides atonement for our sins, to also study Jewish law, on Shabbas to study the laws of Shabbas, as we need to know how to observe Shabbas properly, to be careful not to leave the group of ten people. The Alter Rebbe gives a blessing to all that will follow this directive that they will be blessed with secure dwellings & will be be helped in all our needs.
