Well, hello everybody and welcome to today's episode of the Mastery Unleashed Podcast. I am Christie Ruffino, the host of this show, and today I am really excited to be able to share four of the amazing authors in our upcoming book called. Genius Unleashed. This is the second book in our new Unleashed series.

And boy, um, I, I'm like beyond excited about the, the content, the stories, the, the resources that these amazing people are sharing. And today I have four of our. Contributing authors and you're gonna learn about each one of them. And even more importantly, you're gonna learn how to, uh, you're gonna learn amazing tips from them and you're gonna learn how to maybe get a hold of them if you get the free resource that they're sharing and decide, Hey, I wanna check out what they're doing and, uh, see how I could maybe play with them.

And so first I'm gonna go ahead and introduce Casey McDonald. Welcome Casey. Thank you Christie. Um, very welcome to be here. Thank you. Yeah. So where are you right now? I know you like to travel, you're kind of one of the, like a digital nomad, um, being able to have that, you know, laptop lifestyle. Where are you right now?

I'm, I'm right about. There, Texas in San Antonio, Texas, she's pointing to a map on the wall behind her. Yep. Right, right. To Texas. So you're in San Antonio right now, which is a really cool place. Just for the next month. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I think you're gonna be coming down to Florida. Yes ma'am. So we'll have to see how far you are and wherever you land, and see if we can connect.

Definitely. That would be a pleasure to, to meet up in person. Again, yeah, we were on the Podcasters Crew or the new media cruise back in November. So yeah, let's see what we can do to be in the same room again. So I am really excited for you to be able to share about your journey, um, and your story's incredible.

I know we, you have your own show coming up soon. Um, but what I would like for you to do is just share the highlights of your story because you're on a mission right now to serve Christian. Entrepreneurs and business owners, but that just didn't happen, right? Like you may had to make a few hard decisions in your journey to get to where you're finally living your purpose, and I would love for you to share with the audience just some highlights of that journey.

Sure. Um. So I followed the advice, get an education, get a good job. Um, so I did that. I got a business degree 'cause I had no idea what I wanted to do. I mean, who knows what they wanna do at 22. Um, but that didn't seem to take me very far. I was a temp for like eight years in different jobs, on and on until I got a.

Real job. And that job, although, you know, amazing people who owned the company and you know, I felt appreciated what I did. I just felt like my soul was dying there just every day, every day just sitting there. Is it time to go home yet? Oh my gosh, let me get outta here. And I was missing out on family moments too, and things that I wanted to do because I had to be at work.

Um, and then one day. I was invited to an event by someone who was younger than me and very successful, and I was like, I gotta pay attention to what she's doing. Okay, I'm going to this event. And I learned about entrepreneurship. I had never heard about entrepreneurship before. And from that moment on, I planted my flag.

I gave my bosses notice and I fired them six months later, walked out. It was a big risk. I still hadn't really made any money in my business that I had started six months previously, but I was not about to stay at that job and die. So I branched out and it's eight years later and I feel like it's an amazing thing.

That I get to do what I want, when I want, help people the way I want, and not looking for a paycheck, but living for a purpose. Yeah. And that's what you're working on with your clients as well. So talk a little bit about how your life and your business has evolved. Yes. So I'm focused on helping women entrepreneurs who have families just because.

I have a lot of strong women in my family who at one point were single moms, and I know us as women, we take on a lot and we love to do everything ourselves. But even when we do have, you know, a, a husband or a support system, we're, we still feel like we're being pulled in multiple directions. We really want to build something big, but we also want to.

Have time with her family. And it's that tug of war that I wanna help women with who have these successful businesses, but they could have more successful businesses while actually stepping out of them and spending more time with their loved ones. So that is really on my heart. And the reason I I focus on faithful women is because I am a Christian woman.

And although I work with. Women and men, good men from all aspects and areas of life. Um, I will be putting a lot of that into what I do with them. Great. And the title of your story is Soul on Fire, the Day I chose Purpose Over a Paycheck. And you are sharing an amazing resource with our audience. Can you talk about what that is?

Yes. So it is a. Wealth archetype quiz, and it basically helps you determine what type of person you are when it comes to money. So it's unmasking your wealth superpower. Uh, there's different things like are you a saver or a spender or investor, this kind of things. And it's just a really short, quick, fun quiz too.

See where you're putting your money, how it relates to, uh, what you're doing in your life. And a lot of people have seen some really big, um, what is it, light bulbs when they take this quiz. It's only like 11 questions, but they're like, oh, I thought I was this, but I was this. So it's, it's interesting. And then they get to start thinking about it more, uh, in depth to really find out.

Their belief systems around it and where those are coming from, how they may need to change 'em. Yeah. Because it's all about, you know, clarity and understanding. If we know where we're at and we have a deeper understanding of who we are, we're able to make better decisions to go forward. So I love that your quiz is exactly, convey all that for people.

Perfect. Yes. Thank you. All right. Well, thank you Casey. I next thank you. Have the opportunity to introduce Danielle FEI mode. Did I say that right, Dan? Danielle? Yes. Yes. Thank you. I'm used to it. It's, it's a lifelong, uh, gift. All right. Well, can you share a little bit about your story? Sure. Um, similarly, I, um.

You know, it's hard to kind of figure out what you wanna do when you're younger, and I think that your environment and your family and, mm-hmm. Um, pretty much just what you experience shapes You obviously into the person that you are, but you may not be able to kind of envision that or see that when you're young.

So, when I was young, um, I have, um, A DHD and I probably a bit of autism as well. So I consider myself neurodivergent and I have a brother. Who is also, um, I have two brothers, but one has a severe A DHD, and he was always, um, struggling in trouble. You know, my mother had to fight the school system to get him the proper supports, and I, on the other hand was kind of like silently suffering.

Um, I feel like as women we tend to be able to overcome things a bit more. Sorry guys. But I think we can hold it better. We can push through, we can mask a lot of masking, um, make it till we make it exactly right and we can just, um, kind of figure out. Other ways to get around our shortcomings. Mm-hmm. So nobody suspected that I was like, internally struggling and really just burning out and crashing out.

And, um, when I went to college, I, I didn't know what I wanted to do. I got a degree in communication because it's like liberal arts with a name and, um. When I got out, it was like, okay, you can go work for this like TV production company for like $20,000 a year. And I'm like, I'm in New York City. Like, are you kidding me?

Like, that's not happening. So I ended up, um. Getting into corporate. I was a corporate trainer for a long time and um, then my son was born and he is autistic as well. Um, more profoundly autistic. He's mostly nonverbal. And so I went back to school and got a master's degree in special education. So now in the past 20 years I did corporate training with adults.

I've done, um, special education with young adults 'cause I, I did high school up till age 22. And what I realized is that there are so many silently struggling. Um, people, women a lot as well. And I wanted to focus on women because, um, I think that we are kind of like the silent majority, right? Because we can fake it till we make it.

We can, um, hide it better. We're later diagnosed. We are, uh, underserved as far as services. So I kind of, um. It took a long time for me to get here, but it, but I developed my own kind of decision architecture and my own systems and processes that helped me to flourish and become, um, what I think of as kind of like an expert in my field.

And I just wanna share that with as many people as possible because the world needs, uh, our varied talents and, um, things that we can bring to the table. Absolutely. So true. So true. And so your story is called When Systems Fail. Genius suffers. Yes. In your story, I read your story, it was so powerful and it's a great representation of how you're able to just embrace who you are.

But then. Be able to become more powerful because of that knowledge and wisdom. And you have a great resource that you're sharing with our audience today. Can you talk about what that is? Yes. So quickly, uh, within the chapter, I'm hoping that the reader will see that, um, a lot of people tend to carry self.

Doubt and self blame because they're not succeeding in the way that society says we should. But what I believe firmly is that that's no one's fault. It's the system's fault, right? So when the systems don't serve us, our genius suffers. Mm-hmm. So I actually created a custom GPD with all of my knowledge and frameworks on decision making, on clarity, and it.

If you just kind of brain dump what's going on in your head, it really helps you to drill down and decide what's most important, and then make a a, a short little plan for execution. So it's nothing major, nothing crazy. You don't need any tech skills. Uh, you just go in and you can do it every day, every time.

You need a little mental help for decision making, and it really helps to calm. Sort of calm your nervous system and get, um, get going, help you to make that first step. 'cause I know a lot of us maybe, uh, have trouble with starting. I know I do. So as long so when I have that decision, clarity, right, then I can start.

Yep, yep. Yeah. So I hope that, you know, um, everyone can really use that and, and get some real relief from that tool. I look at the description of it and I know, um, I haven't actually played with it yet, but I'm really excited to dig in and kind of see how it all works. Um, and right now what you're doing in your business, it's, it's great how things have come full circle.

Um, and what you're doing now is really powerful. So do you wanna share just briefly what the audience on how you're able to work with clients and serve and just kind of in a way that's completely in alignment with how you were, you were created. Yes. So, uh, as I said, I focus a lot on decision making and execution because I find that there may be a lot of, you know, there's a lot of traditional coaches out there.

There's a lot of, even like a DHD coaches out there and they focus more on productivity, um, time management, things like that. And, and that has its place. I definitely think so, but for me, what I figured and I've discovered is that I think. Deeper down inside, it's more of decision making and execution. We get paralyzed because we are just overcome with decision fatigue and uh, we have a lot of executive functioning issues that kind of hinder that process of going from A to B2C.

And so what I do is when I work with my clients is we focus on decision making execution. And follow through. And we repeat that circle in like a loop cycle, which I, I work on with all my clients. So I have, uh, a membership program. I have, you know, intensive coaching programs, and I do one-on-ones because sometimes everyone.

Has a, not sometimes, all the time. Everyone has a different need. Right? Some people have more of a need for one-on-one services and handholding because their execution, uh, is just non-existent. I used to be like that. I struggled very hard for, uh, many years with executing. I had great ideas, you know, big dreams, but I couldn't follow through.

Mm-hmm. So that's what I do. I mainly focus on decision making, execution, and then just keeping that up and making sure that it. Is brain friendly, which is kind of like my signature. I always wanna make sure it's brain friendly and that, um, it really fits with your life and, and it doesn't control. Your business is not controlling your life.

You are controlling your business. Yeah. Great. Well, wow, that is amazing. Um, we've got two incredible women already, two phenomenal resources, um, for this Genius Unleashed book. Thank you Mel or Danielle for being a part of this. And now I wanna introduce everybody to Melanie Love. Melanie's story is called Trauma.

Truth and transformation and her story is a real powerful, um, example of how one woman was able to just overcome, uh, a lot and be able to get on the other side of it. And I know we're gonna talk about her story, we're gonna talk about, um, what she's doing now in her career, but I just kind of wanna take a moment to.

Um, acknowledge you, Melanie, because I like, I know you personally for a while and I just love how you've gone through a lot, but you always have a smile on your face. You're always positive and I know what you're doing really lights you up. So I'm really excited for, uh, for what you have going on in the world right now.

So, uh, welcome and feel free to share a little bit about your story. Thank you for having me. Yes. It's, it has been a journey and it has been a journey, um, from my story's evolved from just a short time that we, we have known each other for the positive. The core of my story was I was an abusive relationship and I had been a social worker and working with other women for 20 years in ministry in different aspects.

Quietly just coming home and suffering with abuse of all different shapes and sizes and, and different degrees until it just came to a, a bullying point that I just couldn't hide it anymore. And when that event happened, and I go into more detail that in the story. I needed support and I wasn't finding the support I needed.

And I was very disappointed because I had my degree. I was in seminary, I was working for my, I was a chaplain. I was in a one year residency for that. So I was around high level people that really were not meeting my needs of where it. What I felt I needed. Mm-hmm. It was either one, extremely or the other.

Either is all science or all biblical. And I appreciate both, but I needed the two to come together and my support and I needed, I just, I needed someone to get it and I felt like all the book knowledge was really hindering, not only me, but the professionals I was turning to. Mm-hmm. So. Like. The other wonderful women that I have had the privilege of working with on this project, if you can't find it, you make it.

So I came up with my program and my core of what I do is to help other women. Work through their trauma. My program is called Trauma Transformation. It's at the core of everything I do. Mm-hmm. I work with entrepreneurs and women just at different stages of their life, but it all comes down to if we want to acknowledge it or not, there's something in our life that's happened that is holding us back and.

Just unless you walk with someone that has walked with you that same kind of journey, they may not be understanding what you're, what you're going through and what your, what your goals are. Yeah. Awesome. Well, so I completely resonate with that, and I really love the res, uh, the resource that you're sharing with our audience.

It's week one and chapter one, trauma Transformation. Can you talk about what that is and why our audience needs it? Yeah, so it's a. Week one of a six week series that I started. I made it through my own healing journey. As I was putting together the all the diff, going through all the different resources of what was helping me kind of compiled into my own.

And I realized that when I am not quite ready, I'm not going to reach out for one-on-one. And, but I will look at someone's video and I will look at kind of their style and see if I'm a good match. So that's what you get. So you get the first week of the program and then hopefully they'll, they'll like my style of doing things and then want to reach out and, and see how I can further, you know, work with them and get them the rest of the, the program.

But it is just, it is. Scripture meets science meets reality in a nice program, and I like the six weeks because where I came from, just a traditional social work background with my degree, the idea of meeting with a therapist till the end of time just didn't resonate with me. Even when I was in class and our professors would tell these stories where they were meeting with someone for like 10 years, I thought, no.

That doesn't make sense to me. You don't go to the doctor with the same symptoms for 10 years. Like, what is that? And then luckily for society, we got these new models or coaching models. So I really have honed into the coaching model, the six weeks, and I, I want you to get results. I don't want you to have to talk about the same thing for the rest of your life.

I, I want us to be able to work together and move the mark in your life. Yeah. Well, I, I agree with you on that and I, I, I've talked to people that have worked with therapists for years and I'm like, well, like why do you need to keep talking about the same thing over and override? I don't know. But, you know, I love the fact that what you're doing now is really transformational, and the fact that you're giving people a taste of what you do by giving them access to the first chapter or the first session, I think that's incredible.

Um, hold on, let me. Mute. Yeah, so that's incredible. So thank you so much, Melanie. Um, I thank you. Know that you're doing amazing things in the world, and if anybody that's listening right now wants to get any of these gifts, the link are in the show notes below. So you'll, you're able to get into our gift vault and have access to all of these amazing resources.

Um, and now I have one more incredible author to. Introduce, uh, Samantha Potter. Welcome Samantha. Thank you, Christie. It's great to be here. Um, I'm fascinated by these other stories I'm hearing too. You know, I've connected with a few of the authors, but, um, this is a new mix for me, so. Great. Thanks. Yeah. And your story, um, I have it pulled up right here.

It's called The Catalyst. The Catalyst, yeah. So I was, um. Actually thrown into the fire, uh, during COVID, uh, when I received a stage three breast cancer diagnosis at the time. Uh, God, it seems like a lifetime ago, doesn't it? Uh, I had been working for 25 years in a, a small transactional law firm. I was their senior paralegal.

I was doing estate planning and probates, and all of a sudden I didn't know if I'd be able to work anymore. Um. You know, it turns out I was able to work. I worked through a good portion of my treatment, um, you know, taking time off to heal when necessary. I was really, felt really supported by my employers, but I also knew I was approaching retirement within the next, you know, few years and.

I wasn't done. I felt like there was something more that I needed to contribute. Um, I'd spent most of my life being a volunteer in one aspect or another, and this felt bigger than just being a volunteer. And it's kind of that existential dark night of the soul that, you know, a stage three cancer diagnosis will put anyone into.

And while I was going through this phase. Now remember it's during COVID. I had to wait almost three full months to even start treatment, uh, after my diagnosis. So I ran across somewhere on social media, a friend of a friend who identified themself as a death doula. And I thought this is the perfect transition for me because I've been talking to clients in the law firm about death and dying for a quarter of a century.

And so what better. Kind of segue from the legal, financial, kind of, you know, rigid rule aspect of what happens when you're planning your death or afterwards when the family is, is processing your estate to supporting people, preparing for death and their families and loved ones going through that. So my business started as a death doula.

But it didn't stop there. And, um, I still support my dying clients locally, but I had so many people come to me and say, well, I love what you're doing for mom. You know, how you helped her transition, make that final transition. I'm not dying, but I just changed jobs and I just can't, can't fit in. I, you know, my whole life just feels like it's turned upside down.

Can you help me? Hmm. So I've always been kind of a psychology geek, I guess you'd say. I already had some experience with, uh, positive psychology coaching. I picked up additional coaching, uh, certifications, n lp, root cause coaching, all these. Came together and, um, helped me put together the coaching that I do for people going through major life transitions and a major life transition is what you define it.

It's where you just can't find your footing anymore. Some days it might just be waking up and going, you know, I'm done with this. I want something new. I want something different. Yeah. Yeah. Well, great. And you have, um, a amazing resource reclaiming what's yours. Mm-hmm. Insight and reflection to help you come home to yourself.

Yeah, so it's a, um, a little mini email course. It's seven emails delivered over the course of two weeks. It's part journal, part reflection, part, just recognition. Gives you some. Um, you know, somatic grounding, how to really get in touch with your body, how to get in touch with your breath, how to decide what's really important to you and yeah, make some decisions.

Most people don't even realize how far off they are from what's important to them until a big something hits them upside the head. Yeah. Yeah. And then at that point it's, I wouldn't wanna say it's too late, but let's get ahead of the game. Right? Let's get Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if, if, I mean it, it's perfect for anybody at any time of life, but if you just feel like things just don't fit anymore, it's the great way.

A gentle introduction, um, into the work that I do. Um, my actual work is a lot more intense than that. I can warn you. Yeah. So I, I, I, I really resonated with when Melanie said that, uh, she couldn't, she didn't want her clients to be hashing out the same thing over and over and over again. Same with me. My, my intensive process takes place within two or three weeks, and then we can back it up with some, you know, accountability, coaching if, if you find you need it.

But we do a big shift in a couple of weeks. Wow. That's great. That's great. Well, this has been phenomenal. I, I, I know, uh, it's been a pleasure for me to get to know all of the 12 authors that we have in this book. Um, they've all, basically, I think I could say all of them have taken their mess and turned it into their mission.

And they're very passionate about what they do, who they serve. Uh, they're not just, you know, moving forward in their careers now to make money. They're really, really, really, uh. Focused on making change in the lives of others. And so if you wanna connect with, uh, Casey, Melanie, Danielle, Samantha, or any of the other.

Uh, incredible authors that we have, um, just head over to our gift vault. Um, at this point, they may not all be in there yet, depending on when you watch this episode, and we're gonna be dropping these shows once a week for the three weeks after we launch our book. And then after that, the authors are gonna have their own solo shows where we're gonna dive in deeper.

Into their process, their methodology, and uh, give them another opportunity to share their resources. So get the resources now before they're gone, um, and then check out our book. Um, connect with any of the authors. I know that they would all love to be able to sign an autograph copy of the book and ship it to you.

Uh, and so wanna go ahead and wrap things up. But I wanna thank all of you for not only being a part of this project, being on this journey together and. Taking the time today to be on the show so others can learn from you and be inspired by you. So thanks everybody. Awesome. And if you're here, make sure that you continue to support our show by, uh, going over to Apple Podcast and leading us a review that is really the best place for you to be able to support our show so we can continue to bring on amazing guests, not only in our book series, but in everyday life as we bring stories and strategies to fuel your success.

We'll see you next week.
