Speaker:Hello there, Modern Man. I'm Dr Anne Truong. I've treated over
Speaker:7000 men with ED. In today's episode, we're going to talk
Speaker:about why executive and entrepreneurs have high rate of
Speaker:ED compared to non-executive and entrepreneurs.
Speaker:Do you know that entrepreneurs and executive are significantly
Speaker:more likely to experience ED than the general population? In
Speaker:today's episode, we're going to look at the shocking connection
Speaker:between the high stress career and sexual health, and why your
Speaker:boardroom performance might be affecting your bedroom
Speaker:performance. If you're an entrepreneur, CEO or executive,
Speaker:watching this, you might want to pay close attention, because
Speaker:that's what I'm about to share could literally change your life
Speaker:and your business. We always talk about the sacrifices
Speaker:business owners make, the long hours, the stress, the sleepless
Speaker:night, but there's one health impact that nobody talks about,
Speaker:yet it affects millions of high achieving men worldwide. I see a
Speaker:lot of men that have their own business or executive that
Speaker:experience ED.
Speaker:Now let's talk about the shocking statistics. Let's look
Speaker:at some of the numbers here. Numbers don't lie. Men with ED
Speaker:have twice their absenteeism from work, meaning they're less
Speaker:productive at work. They experience 23% more workplace
Speaker:impairment compared to those that do not have ED. And
Speaker:overall, they have 2.5 times more productivity loss than
Speaker:their non-ED counterpart. So what's really shocking is, while
Speaker:the general population has about a 5% rate of certain stress
Speaker:related disorders, research suggests that business leaders
Speaker:and entrepreneur shows three times higher for stress related
Speaker:condition. So what does this mean? There's a CEO have mental
Speaker:health crisis, 55% of CEO experienced negative mental
Speaker:health issues in the past year alone. That's a 24 point jump
Speaker:from 2023 and that 70% of entrepreneurs report being
Speaker:impacted by mental health condition. So here's the kicker,
Speaker:chronic stress directly lead to ED through multiple biological
Speaker:pathway.
Speaker:Let's look at the science behind this. So number one, the
Speaker:cortisol problem. So when you're constantly stressed. So let's be
Speaker:honest, if you're running a business, you are constantly
Speaker:stressed, your body pumps out cortisol and adrenaline, these
Speaker:hormone literally redirect blood flow away from your genital area
Speaker:to the muscle in preparing for you for fight or flight. This is
Speaker:a train mechanism that we have ingrained in our body from
Speaker:millions of years ago, that when you have cortisol adrenal
Speaker:release, it means that we have to fight against something, or
Speaker:fight against the dinosaurs or run away to protect ourselves.
Speaker:So that's the last thing you want to do, is have blood flow
Speaker:down to your penis. You want to have blood flow to your arms and
Speaker:your legs so that way you can run away from danger. It is just
Speaker:ingrained in us. You cannot fight it. It is just autonomic
Speaker:response. Guess what? You need proper blood flow down to the
Speaker:penis for normal erectile function. No blood flow, no
Speaker:erection and stress.
Speaker:Number two, the testosterone crash. Here's something
Speaker:fascinating from the Harvard research. Successful executive
Speaker:actually have a very specific hormonal profile. High
Speaker:testosterone, low cortisol. What that mean is that if you're
Speaker:successful, you tend to have higher testosterone and low
Speaker:stress or low cortisol. The problem is chronic stress
Speaker:elevate cortisol, which then suppresses testosterone
Speaker:production. While you're trying to be the business owner, stress
Speaker:is literally killing your testosterone. And here's a
Speaker:vicious cycle. Once ED starts, it creates performance anxiety,
Speaker:which creates more stress, which makes the ED worse. So it's like
Speaker:being trapped in the Nightmare feedback loop. Now it gets
Speaker:worse. The typical entrepreneur lifestyle is likely a perfect
Speaker:storm for sexual dysfunction. 55% of founders suffer from
Speaker:insomnia, which means that testosterone production
Speaker:decreases because testosterone is made during when you sleep,
Speaker:particularly when you're in deep sleep, like REM. That excessive
Speaker:work also keep cortisol high. Cortisol is a stress hormone.
Speaker:Cortisol high, no erection, decrease blood flow. So 85% of
Speaker:entrepreneur report high stress level. And that many, not all,
Speaker:this is not a general, sometime will rely on alcohol to de
Speaker:stress or poor diet choices as coping mechanism because they
Speaker:don't have time to go grocery shopping and that they will
Speaker:neglect themselves first, which is the first thing is sleep.
Speaker:Second is stress. And another thing we need to discuss about
Speaker:the business impact. Now you might think, "Okay, this is a
Speaker:personal problem." So here's why entrepreneurs should care about
Speaker:this. Remember those productivity stats that I
Speaker:mentioned earlier, the men with ED have two times higher
Speaker:absenteeism rate, more than double the workplace impairment
Speaker:and 25% total productivity loss compared to non-ED men. So if
Speaker:you're leading a company, making critical decisions and managing
Speaker:a team while dealing with the psychological burden of sexual
Speaker:dysfunction, you're literally operating on empty at a fraction
Speaker:of your potential. So there's something really crazy that
Speaker:studies show that leaders with the ideal hormone profile of
Speaker:high testosterone, low cortisol manage more people and achieve
Speaker:more higher status position. So ED is often a sign that your
Speaker:hormones are completely out of whack.
Speaker:Now next, early warning signs. Your health system alert. Here's
Speaker:the scariest part, ED is often the canary in a coal mine for
Speaker:your overall health. 67% of men with ED could face a heart
Speaker:attack in 7 to 10 years. So ED is frequently the first symptoms
Speaker:of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and high
Speaker:cholesterol. So if you're experiencing ED and you're an
Speaker:entrepreneur, an executive, your body is literally trying to tell
Speaker:you something critical about your cardiovascular health or
Speaker:your heart health.
Speaker:So what are solutions that actually work? Address the root
Speaker:cause. You know, I'm a big proponent of addressing the root
Speaker:cause and not padding the problem. Number one, stress
Speaker:management. Stress management program has shown to improve ED
Speaker:better than medication alone, like Viagra or Cialis. Consider
Speaker:meditation. There are various meditation app. Consider
Speaker:exercise and even psychological counseling to decrease your
Speaker:stress. Set boundaries around your work hours. Take breaks, go
Speaker:on vacation where you could unplug for like a week or so, so
Speaker:you can reset and be in tip top shape. Number two, hormone
Speaker:optimization, get your testosterone level and cortisol
Speaker:level checked. Testosterone can be checked by a blood work and
Speaker:cortisol level is best checked if through saliva. And you can
Speaker:actually have this done in the lab, or your doctor can order
Speaker:it. If you go to most lab facilities, such as Labcorp or
Speaker:Quest, they actually can do this studies for you without even a
Speaker:doctor's order. However, you need to work with a doctor to
Speaker:how to interpret it in your clinical situation, and also if
Speaker:you want to get testosterone replacement therapy. So many
Speaker:executive are now using testosterone optimization as a
Speaker:performance tool for increased productivity and for work. Also,
Speaker:you got to consider changes in your lifestyle, like prioritize
Speaker:sleep. This is when testosterone gets produced. Regular exercise,
Speaker:like 30 minutes, four to five times a week. Don't overdo it.
Speaker:Limit alcohol to about 14 drinks a week. Improve your diet. I
Speaker:recommend eating a Mediterranean diet. Consider supplements like
Speaker:vitamin D, zinc and magnesium, which help relax muscle. Zinc
Speaker:help increase testosterone. Vitamin D is essential for
Speaker:sexual function. So when you get blood work at the lab, you
Speaker:should get a CBC, a Chemistry 14, testosterone total, free
Speaker:testosterone, prolactin, vitamin D, zinc level, magnesium level,
Speaker:as well as prolactin level. Number four, consider go to see
Speaker:a doctor about this early than later, because what you don't
Speaker:want to do is to take a medication which pack the
Speaker:problem, which really you're digging yourself a bigger hole
Speaker:than when you first started with. So let's break the stigma.
Speaker:Most successful entrepreneurs I know treat their sexual health
Speaker:like their business KPI. They optimize it, measure it, and
Speaker:invest in it. So when your testosterone level is optimized
Speaker:and your stress level is low or low cortisol level, then you can
Speaker:solve problem easier, better than your competitors who are
Speaker:suffering in silence, and you can literally have a competitive
Speaker:edge. Better hormones equal better decision making, better
Speaker:leadership presence, and better stress management. In fact,

Speaker:biohacking event focused on male optimization. They've realized
Speaker:that sexual health is business health.
Speaker:So here's what I want you to do right now, get your blood tested
Speaker:for total testosterone, free testosterone, saliva cortisol
Speaker:test, and your overall health markers. Audit your lifestyle,
Speaker:how's your sleep, your stress level, your diet and your
Speaker:exercise. And then invest in your health like you would
