Providing delightful Southern comfort food and a warm ambiance, the Soul Food House in Tokyo proudly serves the community, touching the hearts of its patrons. LaTonya and David Whitaker arrived in Japan 15 years ago as missionaries from Atlanta, Georgia. The couple’s culinary skills quickly attracted loyal fans, and the Soul Food House featuring the delicacies of their roots opened its doors. LaTonya, David, and I enjoyed a table talk about our lives in Japan, raising children, and the intricacies of the business. LaTonya also founded the Legacy Foundation Japan to build the African American community in Japan, including all people of color. What a blessing to cross paths with such a dynamic couple - all is well in the Soul Food House!!
