Well, hello everybody and welcome to today's episode of the Mastery Unleashed Podcast. I'm Kristi Rafino, the host, and today I have the pleasure of having fun with one of my good friends. Eva Gregory, welcome Eva. Thank you. Yes. Fun is number one. Oh my God. One of my biggest mantras. Fun is number one. And we have both had the pleasure of, you know, in this crazy online world, you know, a lot of us don't get to beat each other.
We have amazing connections. But we've had the pleasure or I've had the pleasure of being able to hang out with you a couple times on the various cruises that we've been on together, which is fun. Oh, no, no, we gotta do it in person. That's a good way to do it. It is, it is. And the last presentation you did, just saying.
It was awesome. Oh, thank you. You did a great job. Very, very impactful. Uh, and, and that's why I'm so happy that you're on this show today and I'm so, uh, glad that our audience is gonna be able to get to know you and to learn from you because you have a very, very long career and you are very well known and recognized for your, how you really serve your clients.
So I'm just really glad to have you on today. Well, I'm happy to be here. Yes, yes, yes. Good. So we're gonna dive in because our focus is on how we can transform our businesses, and you have a very successful coaching business, helping all kinds of people with their focus and creating high ticket offers, and just making a big impact in the life of oth life of others.
And I like to just kinda see how you got started on this path. Yeah. So interesting because, you know, I came out of the computer industry. Ooh. And, and I, I was with IBM for a while and, uh, felt like a cog in a wheel and decided I didn't wanna do that anymore. And, you know, that was back at a time when IBM, first of all, was the pinnacle.
Mm-hmm. And they never laid out people unless you did something stupid to get fired. You were a lifer. I, BM and I, I just had enough and I, I, it was the, the straw that broke the camel's back. I don't know what it was. I can't remember, but I just remember walking in the next day and saying, I'm done. Here's my resignation.
And people thought I was out of my mind. But, uh, I also made the mistake of thinking that because I had worked at IBM that I was invincible. IBM does not teach you how to be an entrepreneur people. Okay. I'm just saying. I don't think anybody teaches this crazy journey. You know? I think it's so true. It is true, but I really, that was a huge.
That was a wake up call for me and I did go out thinking I was gonna be able to go out on my own and you know, for two very painful. Okay. And now we're having an emergency. Can you hear that? No, I can't. You can't? Okay. Well, there you go. We have these like child emergencies and, and it, everything goes off.
The phones go off. Oh, I get so I'm glad you didn't hear that. Next time I will know that and just keep talking. There you go. People, this is what happens when it's live. It's not an emergency there in your house, right? It's No, no, no, no. It was like a general or something around, you know, a county thing that they do.
Yeah. Yeah. In California. However, as I was saying before, we were so rudely interrupted. At least I was, uh. I, I, I fell on my face and, and, and at the time that, um, I, I didn't know what I was gonna do next. Robin, my other half had just had a startup software company. He says, well, until you figure out what you wanna do next, why don't you come in and do the marketing for our company?
And I thought, how to lose a relationship And one easy lesson. Live with him and work with him. Yes, 10 years later. You know, we actually, you know, we were in the business for 10 years, but the five years of that was really, really not good. We were, we were really struggling. We, the cash flow was not there.
Uh, creditors were after us in our business. Creditors were after us personally. And you know, I was waking up at three in the morning with panic attacks. And I just remember, by the way, this was after I had learned law of attraction. Oh, and so this is, and that's my thing, right? Yes. And yet, this is the thing I learned.
You can, you know of it or you know it. I thought I knew law of attraction. I knew of it. I was not walking my talk. I. Mm. I just remember, say, and I knew in the core of my being that this stuff worked. I knew it because when I first ran into law of Attraction, it was like the fireworks went off, the light bulbs came on, and I thought, this is it.
And then I realized there was one of those nights and, and it was like, Eva, you're not walking your talk. You understand this? Now take it into the business. 'cause I was doing it for the easy things, right? And it's easy to play with the parking, get the parking place up front and that kind of thing. But when your business is going down and you can't pay your bills, all of a sudden I was back into my old mode of operation.
Yes. And just threw out everything I knew and I thought, no, I know this works. And I made that decision that I was going to make it work. And so that the guidance I got at three in the morning was either go walk your talk. So I went into the company the next day and I introduced this whole, uh, energy alignment, law of attraction, and we put this big spreadsheet up on the.
For everybody, and we started with $10,000 in our imaginary prosperity account and thought, where are you gonna spend your money for the business today? Everybody started playing this game. Sales started supporting the marketing department. Marketing was supporting the program department. That was unexpected.
I thought that would be spending on their own, and it did shift our energy. Now we still had to keep focused on the business, but within nine months of playing this game, after five years of really spiraling, someone came knocking on our door saying, we heard about your software. We wanna buy you out lock, stock, and barrel.
And that was when the, it was like the, the day that that company changed hands, Robin and I were in the. INE islands on a 42 foot catamaran island hopping with friends. And I'm telling you, that is the power of inner guidance. Trusting your guidance. Yes. The energy alignment and law of attraction. And that was when I, I, I knew I had to, this is what I had to teach.
That's how I got in. Eventually got into what I'm doing now and I got into coaching. Whole other story for another day, but I got into coaching and it was all about law of attracting, helping people to understand energy alignment will level the playing field. I don't care who you've been, how long you've struggled, what your background is, what your religion is, where you've been, where you've lived, it works.
And that's how I actually got into it in the business. And then from there. There were people wanting to know how I was making my business so successful, so I started to integrate the two. And so now it's energy alignment, law of attraction and business. So I blend the practical, I call it, where spirituality and practicality merge.
I love that. I love that. Okay. And so when you work with your clients, right? Oh, let me, I'm like, we're gonna dive right into strategy. So, but I wanna kind of go back to your story because it, it is so true that, um. Sometimes we can get pulled back, right? Like if we have a little obstacle and we are on the right path, but something kind of sets us back, it's so easier for us to go back into kind of our old ways, our old belief systems.
Yep. Totally is, totally is. And so that's, that's, uh, that is when. To me, it's like that's when the rubber meets the road. That's when you really know, you know, where do you stand in this? And what I, what I really en encourage people to do is start, is to start with the simple things. When you're like, trusting, how do I feel?
My, my inner guide, what am I being guided to? Yeah. You know, is it a should or is it because I really want to, and whose life am I living here? You know? And so there, there is a lot of discernment that needs to happen here. But that's, uh, that, that's what I do, is I teach my clients. You start with the small stuff because what happens is when you start with the small stuff and you can prove it to yourself, then when something big comes along, you've got that foundation to remember, Hey, this did work.
I. Rather than starting with the really big issues, it's like you don't go into the gym and start with the 50 pound dumbbells. Right, right. We gotta start with the five pounds. Yeah. Five pounds and work our way up. Yeah. So it's like building your, uh, your muscle. Right, and And energy and alignment and the law of attraction.
Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Okay. It's really interesting because, uh. The, what I see too, a lot of people doing is that they are doing exactly what their, their program has been teaching them to do, or their coaches are teaching them to do. And you look at it and you say, okay, why is it out of 10 people, eight people will follow the exact same directions.
Mm-hmm. Or, or 10 people will, but eight people will fail and two will thrive. It's because what they're doing is not aligned. The, the a is it wasn't aligned with their values and their spirit and what works for them. And so it's not that, it's not that what people are teaching is wrong. It's not, it's about is it aligned with you?
You know, there's thousands of workshops and programs on how to build a successful business, but if you, if it's out of alignment with you and your core values and the spirit, your spirit and limiting beliefs can come into that too. Yeah. But you gotta remember what works well for one person does not work.
For another, and especially if your intentions and your values are different. So it's like, you know, the cookie cutter, one size fits all approach does not work. People. You are not a cookie. Okay. That's, that's what I have to remind people. That's true. Right? That's true. So, and, and so I know you work with people and you help them.
Create their high ticket, you know, high ticket client, uh, program or offer. Um, and that's kind of similar to what I do. And there's a lot of people that have their specialty. Right, like the steps. Yeah. And although we can have the best steps in the world, that doesn't work if that person isn't the person that they should be to be that outcome.
Like you can't learn how to have a high ticket offer and have it be successful. I. Unless you become the person that has. That high ticket program that you become that person Yes. Is embodying. You have to, it's embody someone who offers a high ticket, a premium offer, or a high ticket offer, and, and that comes by you.
There's a couple of things. One is really standing solidly in the power of what you offer. Here's the thing, I have worked with so many people and I have talked to so many coaches who are changing lives and yet. They are so undercharged and because they're not, they're not claiming that value. Yes. Which is one of the things that I work with my clients on, is to helping them to claim that value.
Yes. And to do that, I mean, there's lots of things that we do, but one of the things when we're, when I'm teaching them how to package what they do into a premium offer, mm-hmm. I am always looking at how can what you are offering be five to 10 times more than the value that you place on it as far as your in the investment for working with them.
Right? And when they can look at it and say, wow. This is that much more than what I am charging. It's very easy then for them to get that value. Right. So it's about putting those pieces in there that clients are hungry for, and there are ways of doing that without it taking all of your time. Big mistake.
Big mistake that people make. I need to give them more of my time. Yes. And that's, yes, I agree. It's not true. It's not true. They want the outcome, right? And if you can get it to them without you. Working a million hours. That's what they want. They want their results. Yeah, they want the result. And I'm just telling, I I tell 'em like you could tell them to stand on their head and sing.
Mary Had a little Lamb, and if that got them the results, they would be happy. Yes. So we've just gotta be careful about also talking about my methodology. Is what's important. It's what are the results. Outcome, yes. And transformation that your clients get. It's not the time they're on the phone with you or on a Zoom call with you.
It is about the results. You get them. Yes. Right? Yes. And so when, when it's packaged that way and then the steps are there that supports people and doing that, then it becomes easy for them to stand in their value. And when they can see their value, others will see it too. It has to start with them. You're you're so true.
And one of the things that I realized the hard way is that it's easier to sell a high ticket program than it is a or premium offer. Right. It it because, well, I mean, you can sell low offers, but people aren't gonna either consume them. Or they're not gonna get the results or people that buy them. And the clients you're working with that at that low ticket tend to be your PITA clients.
Right. The ones that are doing everything, they're confused. They don't, they're not gonna listen. They're not coachable. Yeah. Where if somebody's gonna invest more. They're the ones that are gonna take action, right? They're the ones you wanna work with. Absolutely. They're the ones that are going to get the results.
And so absolutely, not only do you have a better experience with your client, they have a better outcome. And I believe, and I, you could have told me this five years ago, and I wouldn't not believed it, but through experience, I know it's so much easier to sell a high ticket offer, offer. Look, if you're, if you're going to.
But to position yourself to attract certain clients, why not start, that's why I, I teach the descending model, right? Yes. Start at the top, position yourself to being that known person that does these things, and then if other people can't, aren't ready to work with you, then you can have the others. You don't, you don't start at the bottom with the $7 and then the $97 and then the four $97.
It's. It's so much harder. Right. And it's the fastest to bankruptcy. Right. Exactly. What I was say by, by the time they've gotten to the high end, you're out of business, so Yeah. Yeah. I like, like, and you, if, if you are just listening, um, Eva did the triangle. Oh, that's right. And if you have your premium offer at the top and you connect with somebody, it's so much easier for them to like trickle down to the next offer if that one's not the right for them.
Write one for them. Exactly. But if you're starting with the ascension model, you've gotta push them up. Like push them up to your next price off, or push them up to the next. It's hard. So much harder. Yeah. And, and you know, the other thing about that is that when you, oh gosh, it just went outta my head. Oh, you just triggered something.
Come back. Pushing. Oh, I know what it was. I know what it was. It's when you position your yourself at the, the top. Yes. With the, the premium offer and the messaging. When you are, those clients are attracted to your message. Guess who else is also attracted? Those that are coming up in the ranks? Yes. 'cause they are aspiring to that.
But when you position it for someone like. You know, that's at the beginning. Then all of those higher, higher level clients are saying, oh, I'm already beyond that, and then, then they click off that it, right. When you are putting your message up here, even those who aren't there yet are attracted the aspirational client.
Yes. Absolutely. It's just, it, it, it has been a immense change game, a game changer for me. Um, and that's why I'm so passionate about that and helping people with that. And I love what you do because we kind of do the same thing, but it, it's just been, it, it, it, it, it's, I wish everybody would teach this because I see a lot of coaches out there teaching the Ascension model, and it's so difficult.
It's, it's easy to sell. For them, like getting people to buy a $97. Yeah. But, but that just leaves those clients spinning in circles. Right. They're trying to figure it out and they're, it is just so hard. I'm with you sister. Yay. Um, okay, so let's get practical, um, because we can. Say, yes, I'm gonna become the person that can have a premium offer.
We can say it. Yeah. But it's different to actually do it. And I love how you guys played a prosperity game. That's like one way to kind of get people to like expand their potential. Um, but what, what could be some really practical tips that you can share with our audience that could help them actually become that person?
Yeah. So one of the things that I do is I have my clients look at, take, take your past clients, whether it's pe people that have paid you or not, but you've actually worked with them. And the first question, uh, you wanna look at is, what is the val, first of all, what compelled them to come work with you?
And that's good. All right. Yeah. Why you, why you, the second question is, what were the. Results, outcome and transformation that they got while they were working with you. Mm-hmm. During the time they're working with you. Okay? That's one level of value. Now, what is the skills, the talents, the attributes that they're taking away based on what they learned from you that now they are applying for life?
Okay. That is huge. So, as an example, I had a client who, who came to me and the results that she got, she was just working one-on-one with her clients, right? And so we, we created her premium group, premium offer, so that she was able to, first of all, start at the top with higher end clients, but then she also was able to have her very few.
Two or three VIP clients, which were just one-on-one, which meant that really leveled her up. Yes. As far as the investment. And then she was able to take, so that that was it. She got to six figures during the time that we worked together, but then long after we have worked together, she's gone on to create a multiple.
Six figure business. She's continuing to be known in her industry as she's getting into these speaking engagements and things like that. And so when you look at what was the value, it's multiple six figures for that one program that she went through with me. And so one of the thing, this is one of the ways to do it as an exercise is what is the results they got while they're working with you?
Yeah. What were the skills they took away that transformed them forever? Mm. So that's another way to kind of get your mind around the value that you offer. Yeah. Um, yeah. The other thing that I also, uh, help people do is to understand that when you can get it on the value that you offer versus the time you're spending with them.
Then it's huge because if that's like you buy a book, well, why would a book be $20 when the paper that it's, and the binder around it is not that much? Why is a book that's $20 worthwhile to be a program that's $2,000 A book is one thing. Very valuable. We all love our books and great credibility, but, and a lot of learning from books and a great way when people aren't ready to work with you at the premium to have something like that for them.
or a:Right? Yeah. Does that make sense? That's so good. Very, very good. I love that. Um, another question. Um, there's a lot of business advice out there and. Sometimes it's confusing to know what to do, what to believe, who to believe versus our own intuition. So can you talk a little bit about that? Because I know sometimes there have been times in the past that I've made decisions 'cause I was caught up in the moment and that coach.
Manipulated my emotions and got me to say yes. And I know now what to look for, right? Yeah. But when you're new, you know, we all wanna buy our dreams. We want to be successful and we wanna trust everybody. Um, and so there's a lot of people that we shouldn't trust, but then there's a lot of people that we should.
I think our intuition really needs to play a part in this. 'cause otherwise we're gonna still be spinning in circles if we're not able to kinda trust our own, our own guidance. Ab. Absolutely. And you know, it's, for me, it's a gremlin on one side shoulder and your guidance on the other. Right? The gremlin's, the devil, the guidance is the angel.
Your gremlin is really loud. It's really obnoxious. But the thing about the gremlin is it's contracting. It feels like. It feels like I should, or I'm supposed to, or they said I have to do 40 cold calls a day, so that's what I'm gonna do. And, you know, that doesn't, doesn't feel good to you. Right. And so it's, it's all coming into.
Your emotions, like your, your thoughts are the engine. Your emotions are the fuel that lets you know if you're in alignment with what the decisions you're making. Mm-hmm. And so feel, feel, feel, get out of your head, get into your heart. Get into your emotional guidance system. Your emotions will let you know, is this aligned with me or is it not?
And so if it's feeling contracting or heavy. That is the gremlin. Your guidance is very subtle, but if it feels exciting and it feels good and it's resonating, it feels expansive, it feels light, then you can know that you are right on path with that. Does that make sense? It does, but so I've got, I, I wanna ask you about this though, specifically because.
Just an example. Cold calls or conversations with people. Um, introvert. I'm an introvert and when I started having conversations with people, it was scary. Now I recognize the value of it. It wasn't because I was doing it because I. I was told to now sales calls and outbound sales calls, another story, we won't even talk about that, but just some of these things that we know that we should do because we recognize the value, but our nature is creating that.
Resistance because it's, yeah. New and scary and maybe out of our comfort zone. So how do we know if it's out of our comfort zone yet? Still good? Oh, that such a good question. Yeah. Yes. There's so much difference than outta your comfort zone and out of your guidance. Yes. Because your guidance, your guidance can pull you into being out of your comfort zone, because here's what thing, we wanna stay in our comfort zone, but guidance is saying go out, and then we feel like, oh my God, it's a little bit, it's, it is a little shaking.
Then all of a sudden you, oh, okay. Now you've stretched your comfort zone and your guidance may say, okay, come out, let's step back out again. And you do, and it feels a little wobbly, and then all of a sudden you have this bigger sphere of a comfort zone. And so it's so good. So what you've got to do is, uh, absolutely when you know it's something to do that's different than cold calls.
Some people thrive on that. I said, if you have to do fuck. Cold calls slit my wrist. Now I'm not gonna do it. I don't care if that's the only way you can have a business and it could be anything. It is not just cold calls, everybody's their thing that they realize that is not, that's not in my value system.
Yes. But when you know, like you're saying, I know this is good for me, then step out, tippy, toe out. Don't step into the deep end of the pool, just, I'm just going to just reach out just a little bit and see how it goes, and that's where you can step out. Find it's okay. You live to tell about it and then you feel a little more confident the next time you do it, right?
Yeah. Does that make sense? Totally. I mean, totally. Who you are talking about, you being an introvert. Never in my, my wildest dreams would I've ever known that. Yeah. I would never pick that up from you. It's so interesting. Yeah. Well, I mean, introvert is where we get our energy, right? Like I get my energy from being alone and, and Oh, for sure.
And being like behind the scenes, I've had to be in front of the scenes intentionally to grow my business, but it's not my comfort zone. It's not what I wanna do. Yeah. Like posting selfies, I don't do that. Like those kind of things are not my comfort zone. But yeah. I don't even wanna get into the introvert piece.
Yeah. But, but you know, but what you, but you're saying I totally, I totally understand that it's about the comfort zone. Yeah. But there, there is also still is what, what most resonates with me. And, and sometimes it's changing your perspective. I. So you were talking about the sales calls is, you know, I'm looking at it.
You're just passing your appetizer tray around at a party. Here's this appetizer. Here are these hors d'oeuvres. Here's why they're so good and tasty. Would you like one? And someone says, no, and it's okay. You, you're fine. You pass it, you go to the next person. So the energy is very different when you're just passing your appetizer tray around at a party.
Someone will say, yes, I'd love it. Someone else will say, no, not right now. Someone will say, not for me, but I know somebody who would. And then what do you do? You go back around and you pass your appetizer around because now there's new people in the room. Yes. And the timing is right for some when it wasn't for others.
Yeah. And so it's, it's uh, also helping to change the perspective a little as well that can, can ease you into doing certain things that you know, you've got to do if you want to, Dr. Want to grow a business. And the other thing is when you do have that passion to grow your business and make that impact, then it's a very different come from when you know you're going to step out of your comfort zone.
Then if I just don't wanna do it and I'm just gonna go hide in my corner, I, I guess business is not for me. We have these core desires. Yes. They come from the truth of who we are. They, it comes from our, our higher selves, our spirit. We don't just wake up in the morning saying, Hmm, what would I like to desire today?
No, we have 'em. Even if we don't, we don't. Like, I don't wanna do that, but yes, I do. I've gotta go out there. I have a message. Right? Yeah. Yes. So it's it that, it's also that, that drives us. As well. And that's guidance. Yes. Yeah. So I totally see like the, the, the people that I come, you know, cross paths with on this entrepreneurial journey, whether it's, you know, somebody I'm working with or just, you know, fellow entrepreneurs.
We're all doing this because we believe this is what we're meant to do. Like, we're not doing this because we decided that, hey, yeah, I'm gonna leave my 40 hour a week job to work 60 hours a week as an entrepreneur to have my freedom. Right? Like it's. Just all purpose driven and totally, we all have to learn how to step out of our comfort zone so we continue to grow, right, and be able to kind of just tackle our mission.
And so for me, um, I did not like sales calls. Well, I knew that I, they're critical, right? Like at first, I, I told my, one of my initial coaches, well, I'm just gonna hire somebody to do all my sales calls. And then they're like, well, how is that gonna work? You're gonna have somebody do your sales calls that that person's gonna wanna work with your sales expert.
Not you like that. You, it's a part of you getting to know that person. And so. Yeah, I've come to love sales conversations because I've reframed that it's not about me selling them, it's about screening and qualifying. It's like I wanna make sure they're a good fit. I want them to make sure I'm a good fit for them.
And yes, now that I've embraced it. The people that come to my strategy sessions, which are sales calls, you know, of course call strategy sessions, they leave with so much value, like their clarity, and even if they don't work with me, they feel like it was an amazing use of their time and myself as well, because it's allowed me to decide, Hey, is this the person I really wanna work with?
As opposed to somebody signing up and me being like, oh my gosh, this person is like not a good fit. So good. So good. Absolutely. It's awesome. So getting out of our comfort zone and doing it allows us to kind of make our best practice in that area. Absolutely. And even then, you make it your own. Yes. You do it in a way that's aligned with your values.
Yeah. It's not about cramming things down their throat, but seeing if or how I can help you, right? Yes, absolutely. Yes, absolutely. So if it's a fit. We have an awesome, I like, I really would love to continue on because this is great. I love this conversation, but we're gonna have to have you back again, Eva.
Um Oh, I love it. But I want to make sure that our audience has a chance to get this amazing resource that I think it's actually a new resource. 'cause I haven't seen this yet. No, it is new. It's new just for you. I know, I love it. So the inner guidance, decision making matrix. Do you wanna talk a little bit about what that is?
Because not I'm gonna be the first one to get it. Just saying. Oh, great. Awesome. So this is what we were just talking about, how we've gotta take the practical along with this whole intuitive, right. And so the inner guidance decision making matrix matrix actually has like four quadrants. To it, right?
There's four quadrants to the MA matrix where you learn how to really make the decision. You stop spinning in the what ifs and the, and you get clear on what your next step is. And so it's gonna walk you through each of these, these steps. Okay? The next is gonna be how do you spot when, when doubts holding you back, and so you can trust that inner wisdom.
And what are, what is the process for doing that? Lots of different questions. It asks and takes you through this format, and then it's about how do we blend the practical and the intuition. Then, uh, then just walks you through the system of how to do that so you can assess your opportunities so you know that it's right for you.
You can get over your fears if the fears are showing up and, and really just align your movements and the decisions you make based on this are going to be crystal clear for you. I, I didn't even look at, we, I know we had a last minute change in this resource, and I just kind of like threw it on my page to make sure our production team has it.
I didn't read it, but I honestly feel like the whole conversation today led directly to this resource. Like how did that happen? 'cause we lined up baby. Totally did. Totally did. So I, I think that worked out great. So thank you for changing your resource at the, not that the other one wasn't good, but I think the questions that the topic, the conversation, like, queue this up.
So now everybody that's listening can have that next step. Like how can they go deeper with this with you? So, absolutely. I think that's perfect. Perfect. Absolutely. Yay. So thank you so much, Eva. This was amazing. Uh, I look forward to having you on again and then seeing you on the next cruise in just a few months.
Yep. Coming right around the corner. Yeah, absolutely. Looking forward to that too. Yeah. Super fun. So, and thank you all for being with us today on another episode of the Mastery Unleashed Podcast.
