Indomitable Will – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. Our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on our trek to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Proverbs 16:16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!  Today is Day 1624 of our Trek, and it’s time for another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Mahatma Gandhi, and it is: “Strength does not come from physical capacity, it comes from an indomitable will.”

Indomitable Will

In most of the world, and throughout recorded history, the saying, “Might Makes Right,” was the mantra for proving that you are tougher than your opponent. In reality, though, there is nothing farther from the truth. It is not the strongest that conquers but those who have the perseverance to continue when others quit. Humility is not a weakness; it is strength in the face of opposition. Through brute strength, those who try to push their way forward are overcompensating to cover their shortcomings and insecurity. As Christ-followers and fellow image-bearers of God, we must not rely on the strength that comes from physical capacity, but on the power that comes from an indomitable will to carry on for God’s kingdom. There is no reason to flaunt our physical strength, when we can do so much more with the power that comes through tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. We are to put on their attributes and character traits and we were putting on the finest clothing that money can buy.

We are told in:

Colossians 3:12

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, I would ask you to please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along on Monday for another day of ‘Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.’
