A VISION will help you set a GOAL.

Main topic: How personality affects goal setting
If you do not have a desired outcome for your life, you will become a wanderer, like a balloon when it is filled with air and then let go, you will fly aimless in every direction without purpose just using up energy and time.
A Dream is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person’s mind. Everyone has a Dream, but most dreams are buried deep down inside every person until they are brought to the “surface” they might as well be Dead Dreams.
A Vision on the other hand, is the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom (or alternative - a mental image of what the future will or could be like).
Goal setting by personality type:
As a "D" type, you want to know the WHAT. You seek the big idea or picture. You are direct and to the point. Your goals center around accomplishments, money, and results. You want it done the fastest way. Yesterday, if possible.
As an "I" type, you want to know WHO - else is setting goals. You seek exciting and fun goals. Your goals are centered around YOU being a star, being admired, and getting recognition. You want it done the fun way.
As an "S" type, you want to know HOW - to easily set goals. Your goals center around security, relationships, and teamwork. You like setting group goals, and prefer getting things done the traditional way.
As a "C" type, you want to know WHY - so you can correctly set your goals. You like credibility, so you do your homework. Your goals center around correctness, value, and being right. You want things done the proper way, according to the plan, and you set goals accordingly.
