jorHey, this is Laura. Welcome to laurels. Real Money Talks, a podcast that is about money, how to make it, how to keep it, how to invest it, and how to use your team, which most people don't have a wealth team. So every week I bring someone amazing that's making money in some category or in some industry. Jordan Adler is with me today. And I want to actually read his bio, it's quite stunning. 34 years old, he was living in an enclosed garage rent was 200 a month and had two roommates. Sounds exciting, carried about 36,000 in credit card debt and job paid him 14,000 A year, he tried 11 Direct, like network marketing companies in 10 years never seen one person I've never made a penny. The future looks bleak. As you can imagine, 34 years old is when I became a millionaire Jordan. It's kind of fine. So we both had transitional years that year. Note today, he's one of the highest paid network marketers in the world number one affiliate with the legacy company called Send Out Cards. He and I have been in this for a very long time. He's cracked the code better than you've seen anybody do. His best selling book beach money sold over a million copies. 100% profits go to organizations that help entrepreneurs across the country. Doing micro loans, has been featured in over 100 books, I actually forward a bunch of his books. And he's been a guest on over 300 podcasts spoken on stages with Branson, Tony Robbins pit bull, Eric, and of course logMAR. Here he is now. So Jordan splits his time between two mountain homes and a condo in the Vegas strip. And of course, the beach, six years ago decide to get his helicopters licensed for fun just because he can. And he needs to be flying me around a little bit more. And you can do a lot of good things as just treating people right and good things will come your way. You know, Jordan I met because he's on our big table. He's been on our mentoring program. We've known each other for what 15 ish years, and just about a year ago, reached back out and said, Let's just like make a big, big splash because for a lot of you just so you know, postcards are one of the number one marketing tools. In today's marketing, given all the digital messaging that's coming postcards rock and we are back at it aggressively. So welcome, Jordan.

Jordan Adler:

Thank you, Laurel. And yeah, it's great that we reconnected and you know, I mailed you, we haven't talked in a little bit of time, we did a lot of work together. And then we didn't talk in a while and I sent you this really cool gift from our program through the app and you received it and you reach out, you reach back out to me and said, Jordan, we got to start doing some things together again, and I got excited about that. So here we are.

Loral Langemeier:

Absolutely. So talk a little bit about that journey. And like cracking the code, you know, so many people don't crack the code. So now cards is a like you said a legacy company. And a lot of people say, well, it's just too far down the downline for me to make money. So blow all those myths out of the water?

Jordan Adler:

Well, I had been like you said I had been in 11 network marketing companies in 10 years never made a penny. 34 years old, I was living in an enclosed garage, and my mom had $36,000 in credit card debt on 22 credit cards, broken down Jeep and I joined my 12 network marketing company. And it wasn't it people always asked me like, What was the difference? It wasn't the company. It wasn't the compensation plan. It wasn't the leadership. It was me. And I figured out it was mindset I used to quit every time I'd have an issue or a problem. I've learned so much from Laurel over the years, like through her big table and through hanging around with her we've become very close friends. And I learned first of all the mindset to be successful when she teaches but also, I learned how to set up a simple appointment. I learned how to network and meet people and make build relationships. I learned how to follow up with people in a way that's meaningful. I learned how to give a presentation. I learned how to follow up over and over and over again until someone would make a decision. So those are some of the things that I started doing consistently. And then if I did run into issues or problems or doubts instead of quitting, which I did for many years, I decided I'm just going to figure it out, stick around and figure it out, become resourceful as an entrepreneur, to either go through the problem around the problem or eliminate the problem. And so that's what I did. And I, and on my, this is going to be crazy. But on my 12/11 month, I only made $180 in my 12 in my 12 company on my 11th month, but by my 34th month, I was breaking significant five figures a month, and then eventually six figures a month. And it was because I stayed consistent. And I learned the fundamentals, the stuff that Laurel teaches over and over and over again. And part of that part of the reason that I got involved with this company 18 years ago, this was literally before smartphones, Facebook was just a brand new thing, half the population was still on dial up. And our company had some very basic technology that would allow you to send a thank you card in the mail from your computer. So you hit the send button. The next morning, it's at the post office. And I thought you know what if I could just start sending thank you cards out to people, nobody does that anymore. That would give me a competitive advantage that might even open some new doors, it might create some new relationships. And so I started doing that. Well, in the past 18 years, I've sent out 100 myself personally, I've sent out 125,000 cards, thank you cards, get well cards, nice to meet you cards, congratulations cards, bereavement cards, anything that would connect me with another human being on a personal level, I do three to five days, sometimes even 10 of those a day. And by by sending those out every day, that energy that I'm sending out everyday comes back to me. So what it'll do for you, this is what it will do for you. It'll help you open doors, it will help you get more referrals and help you get more repeat business. And it also helped to expand your network and your network is so important. It's one of the top three most important things in building a successful business. And I believe it's a life tool that everyone should have.

Loral Langemeier:

Absolutely. I mean, you know, everybody has that cliche, your net worth is your network. And you know, me I preached databases, databases, databases, and since I was 21 been building a database, which you know, all these folks follow. And in so many ways, I want you to drill into those. So as far as I'm actually going to repeat and back. So opening doors, how do you actually use it as a tool for that? Obviously getting referrals and the repeat business? And I think the repeat business is bigger than most people think. I mean, it's easier to get money from a current customer than find a new customer. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper. So specifically, some of the techniques that I wanted to bet a few words you said, it's persistence, it's discipline and consistency. I teach those all the time. You got to be persistent, disciplined, and consistent in your behavior once you choose to do anything, especially this.

Jordan Adler:

Yeah, absolutely. You know, one of the things you mentioned at the beginning opening doors, I'll tell you a quick story. Two days ago, I spoke at an event in Spokane, Washington, it was a launch of a network marketing company. And we introduced our program for their, their consultants, their beauty consultants. So so but at the table, they have round round tables. And at the table there was a woman from Dallas, never met her before, didn't know who she was. But apparently she has 1000s of women that follow her. And she is has a magazine and she does events. So I started talking to her, I asked her about her business, she asked me about my business, I'm always very curious, when I meet somebody new, I asked lots of questions and get to know them. And then what I did is from my phone while I was sitting at the table, I sent her a card and I handed her my phone and asked her to put her mailing address in. And I sent her a card with a selfie that I took with her. And I put a message in there saying I'm excited about the possibilities of what we might be able to do together. It was really great to meet you in Dallas. Let's let's get connected. And look take a look at what we might be able to do together. And I sent her that card along with a box of hormones. And I did that from my phone in less than three minutes while I was sitting at the table. Now here's what's going to happen. I could have sent her a quick text message, but it's not going to have nearly the same impact. She's going to get home and within a day or two of her getting home. A box is going to show up. And she's going to she's going to be bought mind blown. She's going to open the box and there's going to be a car with a selfie of us on the front in one of our beautiful templates that I pulled right from the app and a box Carlos and she's she's going to contact me because I said give me a call when you get this. And we were going to start a relationship. So that's opening doors and you can open doors with anyone. And if you think about it, and Laurel could probably talk on this. The strategic partnerships that you create in the course of your business life are going to open up the biggest opportunities for you So like, for example, I have a strategic partnership with Laurel, that came out of our relationship, the relationship has to happen first, because Laurel would not open her community to me unless she trusts me. She will not open her community to me unless she trusts me. How do you build that trust? And most people miss it. And it's simple.

Loral Langemeier:

Yeah, well, any, like you said, even just sending basic thank you cards. I mean, we're in the pattern. Every time we get back from an event, we send thank you cards. We just had our virtual big table few weeks ago, everyone got actually that mug that you sent me the grateful mug that spoke during our event got the grateful and thank you and being grateful for being at our event and sharing their wisdom. And it just it changes your relationship when it's not just like you said, a simple tax or even a simple email completely different. Share the story about the realtor that? Yeah, we like one car turned into $100,000 in commissions.

Jordan Adler:

Yeah. So she, she's this was a she was a successful realtor, but not like massively successful, successful she and her husband would sell a few homes a year and they got a check and all that. And she was this was years ago, probably eight years ago. She was at a networking event, a Chamber of Commerce event and there was catering. And the caterers had their business card and a little business card stand and their food was delicious and beautiful. So she went over there and she took pictures of them serving the food. And then she also grabbed their business card, which happened to have their business address on it. She sat back down at her table at the at the Chamber conference, and she sent them a card. It has her brand on the back her real estate brand on the back. She sent him a card along with a box of brownies. Well, it turned out that they were in the process of wanting to sell their home at that time. And they didn't have a realtor, because she treated them so nice in a personal way. They contacted her and she helped them sell their home and then she helped them buy another home. Well, it turned out they had a daughter that was getting married. And because Gail kept sending them cards and staying in touch that Gail and Steve got invited to their daughter's wedding. But what did Gail do at the wedding, she took pictures of the wedding. Then she sent them a car she sent the parents as well as the daughter and her husband, her new husband, a car, a card from the wedding. And guess what, what is a new couple? Do they want to buy a home so they contacted Gail and Steve they bought a home. Then over the course of eight years, she's bought and sold five homes for that family. That's a result of a card that she she opened that door by sending a card with pictures from the catering. And it's so simple. It's something you load, you sign up, you got a username and password, you load the app, you've got the app and you can start sending cards and gifts. It's that simple. And then we also have I'm sure many of you know people that could really massively benefit from the service. For some of you also, you know, you don't have to be a realtor to do this you can do you can do this for any business. I mean, we send thank yous, like I said, we send reminders, the new one that we're gonna start doing to Jordan is when people get certified, when they actually achieve certain levels in their growth, whether they make 100,000 quarter million, or hit their millionaire status, we're gonna acknowledge them and start sending. So just, there's a lot of ways all of you need to be thinking about it. go there. It's just just to clarify what they're gonna get. See there, it's it's a trial program, it's 20 bucks, they get 10 cards and 10 stamps, they have a username and password. Awesome. So talk a little bit about other business uses. Right? We've talked about some of those. How, like, how else could people be using it because I want to reach I mean, we're worldwide pot, you know, podcasts with people all over the world, different industries.

Jordan Adler:

I'll just use network marketing is as an example. What if you set up I've done this I've got a 10 card drip campaign, I hit the send button one time, and every one of my new affiliates receives 10 cards over the next 13 weeks. And one of those cards has that grateful mug attached to it, you can attach a gift to any one of those cards. So I've got drip can't, we've got drip campaigns where you can set up drip campaigns. So let's say you want to make sure, let's say you're in the law, you're in the mortgage business. Think about it at businesses like that mortgage, real estate, and many others, let's say you're a roofing company, or it doesn't really matter. It's like Laurel said, your repeat business is 10 times bigger than your initial sale, if you nurture those relationships. So if and you've got to be in this marketplace, especially with the internet, you must be top of mind. If you're not top of mind, then the next day, they're going to run into somebody that does what you do. And don't expect them to remember you when they're ready, because they've met 25 People like you know, and so you got to be in front of them the day that they're ready. So when you set up like a three card or a five card drip campaign where you know, they're going to get those cards over the next year or whatever, you know that they're going to constantly be reminded that you care about them, they're going to constantly be reminded that you're thinking about them, and they're gonna constantly reminded what kind of business you're in.

Loral Langemeier:

So talk a little bit about the drip campaign and how a lot of this can be automated and will be automated, once they dive in.

Jordan Adler:

Yeah, so there's a button on our app, and also on our website, called campaigns, you just click on it, you click the plus button and name the campaign and then you build the card. And then you add, and then that card is going to go out immediately. And then the second card you build, you just click the plus button again and add another card, add another card, and you just tell it, you tell it when to send the next card and the next card and the next card. So in my 10 card yet campaign, it took me a couple hours to build this because I'm going to use it over and over and over again. So I don't, I only need to build it once, right. And we've got designs already in the system for you. You just have to know what you want to put in the car. It could be motivational, it could be training, it could be education, on your industry to help people. But every card could be a little different. And you're just educating them. And so you create your drip campaign and you tell it when to go out. And then you just pull up the campaign, click the Send button, put in the contact, hit send and you're done. Then it's it'll automatically go and buy. Yeah. And so if that's something that you're interested in, make sure and you know, send a message over to laurels organization. Absolutely. You know, there's a lot of people in, you know, in the community of Send Out Cards. So talk me, you're clearly at the top for a reason. And we talked about, you know, consistency and the discipline persistence, what does it take to become a five figure earner per month? Really, just so many, many companies promise it? I've just I mean, you have consistently been a six figure a month earner, just so all of you out there realizing there's a lot of money when you get committed?

Jordan Adler:

Yeah. So okay, so the first thing is, you've got to have an entrepreneurial mindset. And you must learn that from Laurel. I mean, there's like, there's nobody better out there to learn that from. So that's the first thing because if you don't have a mind, entrepreneurial mindset, as soon as you have challenges you're done. That doesn't work that does not work in in being an entrepreneur. So that's the first thing. In fact, if you were to sit down with Laurel and have her describe to you, to you, every successful business she's ever had, she would tell you could tell you the big challenges she had on that journey. So that's the first thing is get out of that mindset. The second thing is, you've got to commit to daily action doesn't have to be 10 hours a day, it could be an hour a day, but consistent daily action. And then you just learn the fundamentals of the business, the first thing I would say is if you're building a successful Send Out Cards business, or that would be you're sending out at least three to 10 cards a day, you can send three cards a day on 15 minutes a day, because that's your network. And that's building your network. And that is also building the relationships within your network and sending out positive energy. So you're making those connections. And the second daily action needs to be reaching out to people with a simple business idea. And everybody that has a business and there's more cottage industry businesses starting today than ever before. There's 1000s and 1000s of new businesses starting every day today, because of people like Laurel and also because of what's going on out in the job market today. And with our economy. There's so many businesses and every one of them could use a good business idea, an idea that they they know they should be doing but they're not doing and so you can bring them this idea and you with with your affiliate position, you get an app called the promptings Pro. And in that app are all the websites and all the PDFs and everything you need. You can send them right from your app for $14 a month. You Send them out and it's connected to you. So you can send a website to somebody from your app, and then it's connected to you. And then if they click on it, you get notified. And then if they sign up, you get notified. And it's all connected under you know, I

Loral Langemeier:

love that. And I think for so many of you, if, you know, the thing I teach also is your first business needs to be an easy one, meaning you're not going to become you know, a best seller like this doesn't happen overnight. The way I started is I actually was an affiliate of the Rich Dad Poor Dad brand, and has send out cards right next to it. So a lot of you, this is a supplemental additional income machine. And if you're already sending gifts and cards, why, you know why just give your money one directional to Hallmark or whoever you're using. Get paid back on the other side. You've always like I said, so many Christmas cards. So you know January's usually big commission month for me because we spend a lot of cards and again, those of you who don't like to shop, this is a great answer to have a built in personal shopper, and the amount of gifts and the amount of cool stuff like the bucket list gift that Jordan sent. This beautiful mug that he said last week called great, you know, a grateful love. The Cardinals are good, the brownies are good. My daughter loves the brownies. She'd like autoship of those on a regular basis. Talk about a few more gifts that are out there just so people have

this morning I said I've got a very good friend in. Gosh, I think they're in. They're in Minnesota. She did she and her husband Tony just had a new baby. And so I grabbed one of the baby templates out of the card catalog on my app. And I dropped three pictures into that from Facebook because they're posting they're all so proud of their new baby. They're happy. They love their new baby. Of course everybody does. So I took those pictures from Facebook and I put them in a car. Now I know her and her husband. She receives that along with a congratulatory message inside the car welcoming nugget into the world. That's what she calls her new baby nugget, welcoming nugget into the world. And then I put a little baby rattle. It's one of our gifts. So we've got got this little these two little stuffed animals, one of them's blue, one of them's pink, and they jingle and they're called jingles. The giraffes, jingles the giraffe. And the babies love it. And so that's it. I mean, there's all kinds of stuff. We've got card size gifts, let's say you want to send somebody some flower seeds, some colorful flower seeds, you can put that in there and it goes right in the card doesn't increase your postage, you just hit the send button. Yeah.

Loral Langemeier:

How fast I mean, you know, can you get started because again, I'm just telling you, I've had a personal shopper for most of my life. And this handles so much of it. Because it's such a breadth of just not cards now and gifts, you can just send and you just send it from your phone, as

you know, Starbucks cards and American Express gift cards as well. So just real quick, the onboarding of it, the simplicity of it, you go to the website, ask laurel.com forward slash cards, you set up your $20 account that gives you 10 cards and 10 stamps, you log into the app, send out cards with your username and password. Now you have that setup, then from your computer, you would upgrade to affiliate on your account page. And, and there are upgrade paths if you wanted to, for example, and I'll share with you real quick, if you become an affiliate, you get 10% from every gift that's ever sent, you get 20% from cards and subscriptions every month, that's a residual check. And then you also make 30% on card packages. So if somebody buys a 500 card package, or 1000 card package to lower their cost, you get paid the next day 30% They buy 1000 card package, you got $300 in your account the next day, from 1000 car package. And so then on top of that, if some of your team members, which they will if you build a team are going to build an organization, you're going to get about 10% of all the volume in your organization. So over time over the next 234 or five years, you could build a nice significant residual income stream that pays you every single month without having to go to work anymore. That just comes in when people are buying their stuff.

Loral Langemeier:

Well, and unlike other companies, too, there's no inventory. You don't have to keep anything. There's there's no really up front costs. And if any of you've looked at a VA, would it be a cost to go do this and just hunt and peck around and go give Amazon all your money which that drives me crazy. It's a little too much of a monopoly.
