New Creations In Christ

By Tammy Lacock

“Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee.” (Philippians 3:4-5 KJV)

In Part 2 of Philippians chapter 3, Warren Litzman explains the importance in verse 4 and 5 of the Apostle Paul dividing the spirit and the flesh, or outer things. Paul further explains here that he, more than any other man he knows, lived his life by circumcision, by the law. He did everything according to the law and based his confidence on the things of the flesh or outer things. He relied on his upbringing, his education, and his status within his religious circle for his validation.

Paul explains that the true circumcision is now worshipping and confidence in spirit, Christ’s Spirit within us. Laws are no longer valid.

Christ raised up Paul to bring this most important new message of Christ’s Spirit living in every believer. Christ is our new life now. In Christ, we are no longer Jews or Gentiles or any other outer label. We are born-again believers in Christ. Those born of God are righteous and blameless before God not because of anything we do, where we are from, where we have been or what we know. We are saved by Christ’s work on the cross. As believers, we are joined in one spirit with Him. Death to our old law-driven lives, rising to life as New Creations IN Christ.
