There's a failure mode specific to people who did the work, who earned real taste through years of genuine exposure and honest mentorship, exactly the way the last transmission described. This one's about what happens when that hard-won taste gets pointed at something that already stopped mattering.
Taste isn't built in general. It's built for specific conditions: a medium, a format, a set of constraints that were true when the saturation happened. When those conditions shift, the taste doesn't automatically update. And the deeper and more honestly earned it is, the harder it becomes to notice it's gone stale, because by then it's not just an opinion anymore, it's identity.
This is Tenor. Signals Before Surface. New transmissions every Sunday.
