Despite Cass City controlling a majority of the game, it was Harbor Beach that came out victorious in overtime, defeating the Red Hawks 24-22 on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

At the end of every quarter, it was a tied ballgame with the score never exceeding one score in either team's favor. With the score tied 16-16 in the waning moments of the 4th quarter, Harbor Beach came up with a defensive stop deep in their own territory to force a turnover-on-downs and eventually overtime.

The Pirates scored on the first possession of OT and were successful on the two-point conversion. After Cass City's fourth-down play was initially signaled unsuccessful, it was later deemed a touchdown. The ensuing two-point conversion failed, giving Harbor Beach a two-point overtime victory, 24-22.
