“And I cried. I put my face in the sand, and I was scared. And I said, God if you can do for me, what I heard people say you can do. And you get me off this island. I will serve you for the rest of my life. He got me off.” stated Don Graves.

CPL Don Graves is a 97-year-old Marine veteran. He has ministered as a pastor to 5 different churches for 32 years. Mr. Graves is a dynamic and thoughtful speaker who speaks from his personal experience on The Battle of Iwo Jima across the country.

In this episode, Don Graves recounts personal historical stories from The Battle of Iwo Jima, including the raising of the flag on Mount Suribachi to the death of Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone. It wasn’t until 9 years after returning from the war that God captured his heart and soul. Tune in to hear how Mr. Graves kept good on his promise to serve the Lord for the rest of his life.
