and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
God. 2 Chronicles 7:14. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 20 of 30 Days of Prayer. Solomon just come off of the dedication service of the ancient Hebrew temple—a vast construction project he himself had overseen. Now God comes close to him one night with a special message. In that message he personally affirms his faithfulness to Israel—and offers this hopeful counsel to his people, if they should ever find themselves suffering adversity because they have abandoned God, there is a way back. It’s as true for us today as it was when God spoke to Solomon that night long ago. If we find ourselves down a long, dark road, with no idea where God is, the way out is simple: acknowledge you’re lost and alone, ask God for help and then begin to take steps back toward him. We will discover God’s healing and forgiveness are as real for us as they were for God’s ancient people.
