Make More Opportunities – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1873 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget. Today’s quote is from Frances Bacon, and it is, “A wise man will make more opportunities than he finds.”

Make More Opportunities

Being wise has so many advantages that it is quite surprising that most people don’t pursue wisdom with a passion. Indeed, the book of Proverbs is packed full of references for gaining wisdom, insight, and understanding. One of those benefits or advantages is that the wise will have the wisdom to recognize and take advantage of opportunities even when they don’t appear to be opportunities at first. Unfortunately, most people are not wise enough to recognize opportunities because they usually dress in overalls and look like work. Yet, the opportunities that we create or recognize because of our wisdom will change our lives’ treks. Opportunities multiply opportunities, so the wiser we are, the more opportunities will blossom from our lives and pour over into the lives of others. That is what building the Kingdom of God is about, impacting the lives of others to bring them from the domain of Satan into the Kingdom of God. When we have more opportunities in life, it provides the resources to impact lives to a greater extent. God has granted us the ability to gain wisdom. We need to follow the precepts in His Word to gain that wisdom. It is so easy to gain wisdom; all we need is to ask as we are told in James 1:5, "If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.  He will not rebuke you for asking." Here is just one passage that lists the value of wisdom. Proverbs 4:4-9 My father taught me, “Take my words to heart. Follow my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you. She will place a lovely wreath on your head; she will present you with a beautiful crown.” As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.
