Former President Donald Trump appeared in a federal court in New York on Friday to appeal his first E. Jean Carroll conviction. In a press conference following the court hearing, Trump again denied the allegations of sexual abuse and said the case was election interference.

Justice Juan Merchan, who is overseeing Trump's New York criminal case, will decide on Friday whether to postpone the sentencing from Sept. 18 to a date after the election, as Trump's legal team has requested.

Georgia high school shooting suspect Colt Gray was arraigned in his first court appearance on Friday morning. The judge said the 14-year-old could face life in prison if convicted, but not the death penalty. Gray's father, Colin Gray, was also arraigned in a separate court hearing.
