Justin’s professional and research interests focus on principal performance and productivity and are guided by the belief that one of the most effective ways to improve student learning is by empowering principals to become more productive in accomplishing their core work.
Justin spent the first 10 years of his career as a teacher and principal in Seattle Public Schools. Since 2012, he has served as a full-time consultant and director of The Principal Center, speaking at national conventions such as NAESP and ASCD to help school leaders become more productive by using high-performance strategies and technology to increase their impact on student learning.
Justin is the host of Principal Center Radio, a regular audio program in which he interviews thought leaders to share the best in professional practice for high-performance instructional leaders.
Justin writes about principal performance and productivity at eduleadership.org, and speaks regularly at conferences and professional development sessions for school leaders.
