On this episode of the Rising Coaches Podcast, we’re joined by Norman Roberts, a coach with 37 years in the profession, a former Division 1 Head Coach and a member of the Assistant Coaches Hall of Fame. His journey began as a player at Queens before moving into coaching at Archbishop Molloy High School and assistant stops at Oral Roberts, Tulsa, Illinois, Kansas, and Florida. He served as a head coach at Queens and St. John’s, gaining valuable experience leading programs at the Division I level. In this episode we discuss his definition of a great assistant coach, how young coaches can leverage the Final Four and summer leagues to build relationships, and the biggest challenges he faced running a program and what he would do differently today.
