Transcripts

-:

Hello darling heart and welcome to the drink less, live better podcast. This is the podcast that helps you to see that drinking

-:

less doesn't need to be stressful, lonely, or boring. I'm your host, Sarah Williamson, and I decided to have a year alcohol

-:

free as a little life experiment and haven't looked back. With my experience and training, I now help other women with their

-:

alcohol free and drink less adventures. I'm here to tell you that you can be truly joyful without alcohol in your life. Join

-:

me here each week to find out how. Today is just one day, 23rd December. It's just one day: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day,

-:

Boxing Day, they are all just one day as well. One day, with 24 hours, approximately 8 of those asleep, depending on whether

-:

there are small children in the house and how early they get up. One day, perhaps with 3 meal times, some work, some daily

-:

tasks, some time alone, some time with other people. One day to choose gentle, choose soft, choose to be kind to yourself.

-:

What other choices would you like to make on this one day? I choose to be joyfully alcohol free. I choose to do some of the

-:

work I love. I choose some creativity. I choose time alone to read, and I choose time with other people. Whether we are alone

-:

or surrounded by others, it's easy to get suckered into thinking we need alcohol to help us shift our emotions, but have you

-:

stopped to closely examine your emotions? Are you lonely or isolated? Are you bored? Are you frustrated, overwhelmed, disappointed

-:

or worried? What are the ways you can bring relief into your life? Can you call a friend or, indeed, call someone else who

-:

you know might also feel isolated? Can you choose a boredom relieving activity? Can you put on some high vibe music, dance,

-:

walk, exercise, take a bath, shut yourself in a bedroom for 10 minutes? Whatever emotion you are feeling, check-in and see

-:

what fits as a feel slightly better activity. Can you do that for just one day? Just today? The days over the coming weekend

-:

might be highly charged or they may feel, in some or any way, different to usual. Go with it. Minutes turn into hours, the

-:

clock will tick, the light will fade, we'll go to sleep, We'll wake up again on the other side. I wish you peace. I wish you

-:

hope. I send you love today. Thank you for listening in to this episode. Please listen in again next time and PS, I believe in you.
