Speaker A:

On this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast.

Speaker A:

Are you dating a vampire?

Speaker B:

And if not, we can tell you what supernatural character you should be dating.

Speaker B:

Let's do this.

Speaker B:

Welcome to this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast.

Speaker B:

I'm Diana.

Speaker A:

I'm Liz.

Speaker B:

And we're going to talk season 11, episode 12, don't you forget about me.

Speaker B:

And I really want to sing it and I didn't.

Speaker A:

You didn't.

Speaker A:

Thanks.

Speaker B:

Appreciate it.

Speaker B:

It's stuck in my head.

Speaker A:

It's already there.

Speaker B:

It's stuck in my head.

Speaker A:

It's just gonna get worse.

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah, for sure.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So what.

Speaker B:

What.

Speaker B:

What have you been up to?

Speaker A:

Oh, you know, it's the.

Speaker A:

The end of summer here in Texas, but things I've done have nothing to do with summer.

Speaker A:

So I saw.

Speaker A:

So went to the symposium of the Strange at Magic Time Machine and this month' of the podcast and the host of the events, Curious.

Speaker A:

I think Curious Research is the name of his site.

Speaker A:

And then he was talking about different research, like, methods and things like that.

Speaker A:

And, you know, it would just.

Speaker A:

It was interesting to talk about, you know, just like, things that you could do while you're out, like, investigating, collecting paranormal stuff.

Speaker A:

Then the next night, I went to an Austin seance event where they're doing three workshops where they're, like, helping people learn how to do electronic voice phenomenon recordings.

Speaker A:

So their first workshop, which I didn't go to, was, like, kind of the basics, and I think they were doing blind recordings where they were just, like, recording the air and just seeing what was on there.

Speaker A:

I think that's what they did, the first one.

Speaker A:

Then the second one, we were using the.

Speaker A:

The Estes method.

Speaker A:

And then, you know, which.

Speaker A:

Which is the one that's named after the Stanley Hotel in Estes park, because they developed it there.

Speaker A:

That's the one.

Speaker A:

Basically, have a radio station that's.

Speaker A:

You have, like, a radio that is cycling through different stations.

Speaker A:

It's going.

Speaker A:

And then someone's asking a question.

Speaker A:

And then the ghosts and the spirits are supposed to be communicating with the.

Speaker A:

With the radio on the frequencies that aren't, like, there.

Speaker A:

So basically you end us hearing, like, bits and pieces of the radio, and you can make sense out of it.

Speaker A:

Sometimes, like, the questions get answered, sometimes they don't.

Speaker A:

We had a.

Speaker A:

Somebody named.

Speaker A:

Okay, so when asked what the name was, the word Noah came out.

Speaker A:

There was a.

Speaker A:

So there was.

Speaker A:

Where.

Speaker A:

Where are you from?

Speaker A:

We got D.C. so.

Speaker A:

But there are also things that were, like, things that got mentioned a lot.

Speaker A:

Officer D.C. you know, just certain things that happen to be going on in the news, but.

Speaker A:

And they're just like.

Speaker A:

And there was like accidents.

Speaker A:

But if you kind of went through all the things, like there was a spirit got caught in an accident and it was still, it was still a good time.

Speaker A:

Which had always, you know, doing different experiments trying to record the dead.

Speaker A:

I'm never gonna.

Speaker A:

I'm never gonna be sad about that.

Speaker A:

You know, we were trying to do things.

Speaker A:

We were recording like in the tape recorder what was being said, like with the Frank box and the Estes box.

Speaker A:

But somebody's equipment kept failing, so it wasn't.

Speaker A:

But anyway, so that was fun.

Speaker A:

And then I tried to go see a band and then I failed again because I can't see.

Speaker A:

Show up to anything on time.

Speaker A:

And there's also.

Speaker A:

They had their times listed wrong in something.

Speaker B:

So you saw a band though, that was good.

Speaker A:

I saw two bands.

Speaker A:

I saw.

Speaker A:

I saw Raton Stay, something from New York and they were cool chickpunk band with accordion.

Speaker A:

And then Pinata Protest played.

Speaker A:

And they're always fun.

Speaker A:

They also have accordions.

Speaker A:

And before they played, they brought up this little nine year old girl who came all the way from El Paso to San Antonio, which is a long ass hall with her family.

Speaker A:

And I'm not sure her family really understood what Pinata Protest was or what they were about because they, they traveled with their young precious granddaughter because there was a lot of their grandparents and there was, you know, Tio's there.

Speaker A:

Like people were.

Speaker A:

Were there to support this child.

Speaker A:

But not sure anybody listened or bothered to YouTube.

Speaker A:

Pena protest.

Speaker A:

But you know, I think there was some surprising, like, oh, so that's what this is.

Speaker A:

But so we had fun until I, I tried to.

Speaker A:

I ran around to the pit like once and then I immediately had to throw up, so.

Speaker A:

And then I'm at the bathroom like not drunk.

Speaker A:

I just thought Ozempic.

Speaker A:

Oh no, that was my time.

Speaker A:

That was my.

Speaker B:

Pinata Protests do put on a great show.

Speaker A:

They do.

Speaker A:

And they're just, you know, accordions aside too.

Speaker A:

They're just, you know, they're a good time.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But I. I miss Fayette.

Speaker A:

And I'm just mad because I just need.

Speaker A:

Let us.

Speaker A:

Not that they're not good shows, but I know I need, I need to see a band that I care about.

Speaker B:

I know.

Speaker A:

Not that I don't care about any other protest.

Speaker B:

They were not you.

Speaker B:

You love them.

Speaker B:

They were not prioritizing it.

Speaker A:

They were not there.

Speaker A:

Who wanted to see.

Speaker A:

I did not want to sing along with their songs.

Speaker A:

I wanted to sing along with some angry chick rock songs.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So I couldn't.

Speaker A:

You know, I was like, you can pump your fist in the air for putting out their protest songs, but it's not the same.

Speaker A:

There's not.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So anyways, what about you?

Speaker A:

How many bands did you see last week?

Speaker B:

Not.

Speaker B:

Not many.

Speaker B:

I didn't actually.

Speaker B:

I. I bailed.

Speaker B:

No, I went and saw one.

Speaker B:

A friend of ours do an acoustic set at a pub.

Speaker B:

Joe Blow, best known from bands like the Staggers and Dog Company and Riot Squad, does some solo stuff now, and it's pretty cool, but Babe's gonna be doing some recording with him and.

Speaker B:

And I like his voice, so we went and watched him and ate some pub food.

Speaker A:

That's always fun.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And then.

Speaker B:

Yeah, that's actually the only music I saw last week.

Speaker B:

I think I saw.

Speaker B:

I saw it.

Speaker B:

I take that back.

Speaker B:

I mean, I saw like a sound check, but that's it.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

Yeah, and then.

Speaker B:

No, that's, you know, got a little bit of pool time in.

Speaker B:

Did a lot of, like.

Speaker B:

Like it was weird weather to end, like this quote unquote, end summer because it's, you know, Labor Day weekend.

Speaker B:

It was just kind of like a weird weather weekend and did some hang out with some family time, got a little bit of pool time in, and that's about it.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we had, you know, flood watches.

Speaker A:

Oh, man.

Speaker A:

I had to Dr.

Speaker A:

I was driving down the highway and, like, there's flood stuff going on, but I was cop.

Speaker A:

Like, lit up, like, right behind me.

Speaker A:

I was like, ah, damn.

Speaker A:

Like, I haven't been lit up in so long.

Speaker A:

And then, like, it was.

Speaker A:

They were.

Speaker A:

They were going off somewhere else.

Speaker A:

I'm like, oh, okay.

Speaker B:

You're like, dang, it's been a while.

Speaker B:

They're like, oh, not for me anyways.

Speaker A:

Not for me.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

But, yeah, I think we could.

Speaker A:

I could probably fit in a few more days.

Speaker A:

It was like, it's.

Speaker A:

It's Texas.

Speaker A:

I'm like, yeah, we'll be in the 90s this coming weekend.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I know.

Speaker B:

It's just when you keep getting those rainy days, you start worrying that, like, oh, we might almost be done, because.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I think this may be.

Speaker A:

This may be it.

Speaker A:

Because then it goes to rain and then we're in the 80s.

Speaker A:

So this weekend maybe.

Speaker A:

Maybe it.

Speaker A:

For.

Speaker A:

For South Texas.

Speaker A:

We'll see.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

But it's hard to complain when we get from.

Speaker B:

When we get from, you know, from May to September of pool time.

Speaker B:

It's hard to too much?

Speaker A:

No, but I mean, I have a pool and I think I'm just mad.

Speaker A:

I think I'm just mad that honestly, it's just I'm mad that I don't have enough time just to relax by my pool.

Speaker A:

I think it's just more the fact of the I don't have time to.

Speaker B:

Go to my pool that I know I can relate.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And it's just like.

Speaker A:

Oh, it's like it's right there.

Speaker B:

How do I not have time for this?

Speaker A:

It's right there.

Speaker B:

I don't go anywhere.

Speaker A:

So that's our.

Speaker A:

That is our first real problem for the day.

Speaker A:

So pool time is over and we're ready for the fall.

Speaker A:

I don't say it's spooky season, but it is spooky season all year here on Double Strap Podcast.

Speaker A:

And so we again are talking about.

Speaker A:

,:

Speaker A:

So Nancy won and.

Speaker A:

But we won by going back to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and a couple of teens are sharing a flask.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

In a pretty nice looking F150 square body, actually.

Speaker B:

I was like, oh, I like this.

Speaker B:

And they're listening to Shine by Leon Bridges, who is from Fort Worth, Texas.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And yeah, they're about.

Speaker B:

They start making out and something is stalking the truck.

Speaker B:

And suddenly the guy gets yanked out of the truck and.

Speaker A:

And jump scare.

Speaker A:

It's Claire.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's Claire.

Speaker B:

And she's got a sword to his throat.

Speaker B:

Jump scare.

Speaker B:

Claire.

Speaker B:

I like it.

Speaker B:

No, I like it.

Speaker B:

And she's like demanding, who are you?

Speaker B:

And she's.

Speaker B:

Or what are you?

Speaker A:

What are you?

Speaker A:

Not who.

Speaker B:

What are you?

Speaker B:

What are you?

Speaker B:

Is what she's demanding.

Speaker B:

And he is very confused as she holds this sword to us.

Speaker A:

It's just very awkward.

Speaker A:

He is.

Speaker A:

His brain seems to be going, why you got a sword?

Speaker A:

Why?

Speaker A:

Why is there a.

Speaker A:

Which is what my brain would probably be like, why is there a sword?

Speaker A:

I'm confused.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So we go from that confusion to the bunker.

Speaker A:

And there Sam is very excited because he's not and sadly found them a case.

Speaker A:

But he has found the picture of a wease weasel riding a woodpecker.

Speaker A:

ing that actually happened in:

Speaker A:

It was taken by amateur photographer Martin LeMay in Essex and a wheedle.

Speaker A:

A weasel just jumped on the back of a goddamn grasshopper and flew through the Air.

Speaker A:

We didn't need AI then.

Speaker A:

We don't need it now.

Speaker A:

We just need weasels jumping on woodpeckers.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

But Dean's bum.

Speaker B:

There's no sign of Amara.

Speaker A:

And apparently they decide Sister also titled.

Speaker B:

The next album and they have not.

Speaker B:

Castiel is apparently working on a way to draw her out, but they haven't really seen him.

Speaker A:

Well, that's what Dean thinks Cass.

Speaker A:

Cass is doing.

Speaker B:

Well.

Speaker A:

That'S what he told Dean he was doing when he really is just being Satan, so.

Speaker A:

Well, not Satan.

Speaker A:

He's being Lucifer.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

There is a difference between Satan and Lucifer.

Speaker A:

Anyhow, so that happens.

Speaker A:

Then Dean pulls out what he calls a heart attack.

Speaker A:

No, sorry.

Speaker A:

He calls it Elvis.

Speaker A:

I call it a heart attack.

Speaker A:

And he says that it's better than the inferior version, which is the Luther.

Speaker A:

And because in the Luther and I remember this thing as well, the Luther had the donut split in half and then you had the burger inside.

Speaker A:

And with the Elvis, it's a full donut, which I don't think is good.

Speaker A:

I think you need to have it split in half.

Speaker B:

It's gonna slide.

Speaker B:

It's not gonna absorb.

Speaker B:

It's not.

Speaker B:

It's a construction problem.

Speaker B:

Really.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker B:

So any amount of sugar with the meat.

Speaker A:

Oh, that's a lot.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

It's a lot.

Speaker A:

And then Sam, who was not impressed and then asked how many calories are in that thing?

Speaker A:

And I meant to get a sound bite of Lucifer calling Sam Prissy he to put in here, but maybe we'll put the edit that into post.

Speaker A:

All right, so Prissy Sam is poo pooing the burger and the donut.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And Dean is offended by this and just really distraught that Sam is not interested in eating this burger made out of donuts and bacon.

Speaker B:

But the phone rings and Dean answers it and makes a Caddyshack reference.

Speaker B:

So we know who's calling.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

It must be Claire.

Speaker A:

And we are all going to South Dakota now.

Speaker B:

Going to South Dakota.

Speaker B:

So we go to Sioux Falls High School.

Speaker B:

High school in Sioux Falls.

Speaker B:

And the bell rings and we've got none other than Alex.

Speaker A:

Does Alex look a little.

Speaker A:

Little old to be in high school to you?

Speaker B:

Borderline.

Speaker B:

Borderline.

Speaker A:

Just saying.

Speaker B:

Well, it's Alex and her boyfriend Henry.

Speaker B:

And this chick's telling them that they are shoe ins for the prom king and queen.

Speaker B:

And Jody watches from her sheriff SUV smiling at this whole thing unfold.

Speaker B:

And so until she honks and makes Alex come get in.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And in between that, though, we do meet somebody named Mr. P. Who comes up to Alex and ask him if she is ready for the test.

Speaker A:

And so we did get this dude come in there as well.

Speaker A:

And so Alex then gets into the truck after kissing this boy while Jody is watching.

Speaker A:

And she gets in, and while she's having a very proud moment of Alex, she notices some.

Speaker A:

Some pills that every woman and most.

Speaker B:

Men should recognize in the backpack.

Speaker A:

And Alex is going on the pill.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

So they drive home and get to Jody's house, and guess what's parked in the driveway?

Speaker A:

It's baby.

Speaker B:

Baby's there.

Speaker B:

So they want to know why the Winchesters are there.

Speaker B:

They both know that that's what that means.

Speaker B:

So inside, Sam and Dean are waiting with Claire.

Speaker B:

There's hugs all around and a lot of snark between Claire and Alex, apparently.

Speaker A:

But it seems very sisterly.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Like, the snark is there, but I don't think Claire or Alex realizes where their snark has evolved to.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

It is beyond just, I don't like this girl.

Speaker A:

It is, get the out of the bathroom.

Speaker A:

I need to do my hair.

Speaker A:

You know, which is a very different kind of animosity.

Speaker B:

It's like, because I can.

Speaker B:

It's a I'll talk to you like this, but no one else can kind of thing.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And Claire's like, yeah, I called Sam and Dean because there are monsters and that.

Speaker B:

Jody doesn't believe me.

Speaker B:

So I called them in, and Jody's like, I.

Speaker B:

You could.

Speaker B:

I could have saved you the time, because there's not monsters.

Speaker B:

I'm gonna go put another chicken on, because I know all y' all gonna eat.

Speaker B:

Eat much?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And I am super jealous.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna go move into Jody's house.

Speaker A:

The food there looks amazing.

Speaker A:

They have breakfast and dinner.

Speaker A:

Like, oh, my God.

Speaker A:

Like, what kind of palace is this?

Speaker A:

And just Jody, when she says.

Speaker A:

You know, when she's basically blowing off Claire and says, like, what every cop from, like, the 80s used to say.

Speaker A:

Two of them are runaways, and one of them is a homelander, per homeless person.

Speaker A:

So they're not really missing people.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Like Jody.

Speaker A:

Like, those are exactly the type of vulnerable people that.

Speaker A:

Monsters, whatever, like, monster serial killers.

Speaker A:

Like, they're going after these.

Speaker A:

This population.

Speaker A:

So I. I know Jody is not the one who wrote the script, but I will say, like, that I, I, I. Jody.

Speaker B:

It doesn't sound like Jody.

Speaker A:

It doesn't sound like Jody.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So I'm kind of like, the fact that we learned okay, well, we'll learn why.

Speaker A:

But it just.

Speaker A:

I feel for Claire in the situation a lot, so.

Speaker B:

I do too, but yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Okay, so we go to the.

Speaker A:

The dinner where the boys are just, like, horking their food.

Speaker B:

They are so happy about this food.

Speaker B:

This is like the best meal they've ever had, apparently.

Speaker B:

And it's like two roasted chickens and some mashed potatoes, and they are in a little bit of red wine, and they are on cloud nine.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

It sounds delicious to me, too.

Speaker A:

It looks.

Speaker A:

It looks like a great.

Speaker A:

Like I said, I want to be at that dinner.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So Claire, she's been stalking the makeout spot.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Yeah, she's been stalking this makeout spot.

Speaker B:

She thinks there's something out there.

Speaker B:

And also there's.

Speaker B:

She said there's been reports in the neighborhood blogs, the local crime blogs, of people seeing things or animals stalking their yards.

Speaker A:

And this sounds like a case to me.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

Like, things are like, weird animals seen in yards.

Speaker A:

Like, these all sound like, like, things.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker B:

I just got excited because I thought we were gonna get, like, Sam and Dean have to learn about next door.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I thought it was about to happen here.

Speaker A:

Next door hadn't happened yet.

Speaker A:

The world.

Speaker A:

The world was still safe from that.

Speaker B:

Racist piece of crap.

Speaker A:

All right?

Speaker A:

And so then also, Jody clocks Alex, trying to sneak some of her wine because Jody is not a cool mom.

Speaker A:

She's a cop.

Speaker B:

I never forget.

Speaker B:

Never forget.

Speaker A:

You never forget.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker A:

And so but Sam's just like, look, we've hunted on Les.

Speaker A:

And then Claire is just like, quiet when she's like, do you have any more?

Speaker B:

But Alex is also like, by the way, Claire caught a werewolf.

Speaker B:

It just happened to be a German shepherd with rabies.

Speaker B:

And there she thought.

Speaker B:

And Jody's like, yeah.

Speaker B:

And she thought she caught a vampire, but it was just a councilwoman that was into erotic cosplay.

Speaker B:

Like, so they're showing that they're having trouble with Claire because she may be over.

Speaker B:

Over seeing cases that aren't there.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

She's seeing monsters where there aren't monsters.

Speaker A:

But in this case, there may be monsters we don't know.

Speaker A:

Like this.

Speaker A:

This does seem very sus.

Speaker B:

But.

Speaker B:

But she's also racking up assaults, which is bad.

Speaker A:

Which is bad.

Speaker A:

And so while, in order to basically make people stop talking about her, Claire decides that she's going to throw Alex under the bus.

Speaker A:

Like, hey, watch out for this thing that's coming right at you, sis.

Speaker A:

So let's talk about when you and Henry are gonna go in Jody's cabin.

Speaker B:

Oopsies.

Speaker B:

Busted.

Speaker B:

And Jody's like, oh, what the fuck?

Speaker B:

But also, I saw those pills in your bag.

Speaker B:

We're going to have a talk right now.

Speaker B:

And Sam and Dina are, like, trying to leave.

Speaker B:

And she's like, absolutely not.

Speaker B:

We're doing this right here, right now, and y' all are part of it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Surprise.

Speaker A:

Congratulations.

Speaker A:

And now Jody gives, like, the real talk.

Speaker A:

And she's like, pills don't stop STDs.

Speaker A:

They need to suit up every time.

Speaker A:

And everyone but Claire is uncomfortable.

Speaker A:

Claire is just, like, got her popcorn out and she's just mopping this shit up.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

For sure.

Speaker B:

Then she kind of gets into some metaphors, and it gets a little bit more awkward.

Speaker B:

But then she's just.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Alex finally, like, stops this to be like, nothing has happened yet.

Speaker B:

I was just trying to be prepared, which is good.

Speaker A:

Like, that is a good.

Speaker A:

It is a good proactive things to do.

Speaker A:

You should be taking care of your own reproductive system.

Speaker A:

But also remember that, like Jody said, don't expect the guy to show up packing.

Speaker A:

And then she.

Speaker A:

Then she swallows a bunch of wine as there is some awkward table.

Speaker B:

Silence.

Speaker B:

There's a lot.

Speaker B:

She slams her wine.

Speaker B:

Let's just be real.

Speaker B:

And then she goes to her field of potatoes.

Speaker A:

Like you do.

Speaker A:

Yes, exactly.

Speaker A:

And so after that, we go to where everybody has their conversations.

Speaker A:

And that's the kitchen.

Speaker A:

So Dean and Jody are meeting up in there.

Speaker A:

And she is just like.

Speaker A:

She put a sword to this guy's throat and now he wants to press charges.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And she's.

Speaker B:

But Alex has adjusted pretty well.

Speaker B:

It's just that, you know, she's.

Speaker B:

It just took a minute at first, and now she's dating this popular guy.

Speaker B:

But Jody's like, having to grasp.

Speaker B:

Grapple.

Speaker B:

What was I gonna say?

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Grasp.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Grassful.

Speaker B:

Whatever that is.

Speaker B:

She's grappling with the fact that she is not their mom, but she is having to play a mom role in some regards.

Speaker B:

And she doesn't have that foundation with them.

Speaker B:

And so she's having.

Speaker B:

She's having kind of a tough time with that part of the.

Speaker B:

Of the role she's in.

Speaker A:

Yeah, no, she's basically become a mom to two grown teenage girls.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Oh, that's just.

Speaker A:

Who are all.

Speaker A:

And everybody has, like, bags of trauma.

Speaker B:

So much trauma.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Like, literally everyone in that house should just like, they should all be alcoholics.

Speaker A:

And the fact they're not is very impressive.

Speaker A:

So Dean's just like, you know what Like, I'll just.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna, you know, we'll talk to Claire.

Speaker A:

We're gonna settle down.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

But you know, I think Sam may be better at this than me.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

It's about.

Speaker B:

It's feelings.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So he's like, so Jody's like, also, Joe, Claire was supposed to start college, but she's never been to class, she has no friends, and she's just constantly looking for cases and reading lore.

Speaker A:

Hey.

Speaker A:

So nothing.

Speaker A:

But she's hiding in it, and that's what she's hiding and hunting and she's hiding in the lore and.

Speaker A:

Which is sometimes the lore is just a nicer place to be.

Speaker A:

I'll tell you what.

Speaker A:

So Dean's just like, all right, we're gonna send Sam off to this.

Speaker A:

So we're gonna.

Speaker B:

Claire's room, which is very bare except for her murder wall, of course.

Speaker A:

That's her main decor is murder board.

Speaker A:

Oh, my gosh.

Speaker B:

And Sam's comments on that.

Speaker B:

But look, she wants.

Speaker B:

She's all excited that Sam's there because she thinks they're gonna talk to the families of the missing people to see if they're connected in any way.

Speaker B:

And Sam's like, hold on, let's.

Speaker B:

Let's talk about being consumed by hunting and using it as an escapism and seeing monsters everywhere.

Speaker B:

She is annoyed that he is coming in with this for her.

Speaker A:

But she.

Speaker A:

But she opens up, though.

Speaker A:

She said she tells him a lot.

Speaker A:

A lot more than I would expect Claire to.

Speaker A:

Right, Right.

Speaker A:

So he.

Speaker A:

Because he asked her, like, you know, how.

Speaker A:

He actually asked her how things are, which is, you know, probably more direct for Winchester's than they've ever been.

Speaker A:

But just how are things at home, Claire?

Speaker A:

And Claire's like, oh, I can answer this like a normal person.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's weird.

Speaker B:

But she feels that she's just a little too late to adjust in the way that Alex has been able to.

Speaker B:

She wants to head out on her own and just be a full fledged hunter at this point.

Speaker B:

This point.

Speaker B:

And Sam's like, I get that, but the monsters will always be out there.

Speaker B:

But a chance at a family and school won't, so.

Speaker B:

That was a nice way of putting it.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And also, you know, the.

Speaker A:

The feeling that Claire has about jumping into the Alex and Jody show when Alex and Jody have Sam.

Speaker A:

As Sam points out, they've been through some together.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

Because they've already gone through like some massive, like, vampire.

Speaker A:

Claire didn't get that with Jody.

Speaker A:

Claire is just kind of like, shouldn't have the bond.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I also learned that I've been using trauma bonding wrong because I don't know how, like, I was just kind of looking at things for this episode and apparently it's really like not a good thing, which, you know, I mean, yes, I get that there is trauma, so things are good.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But it's apparently like when you.

Speaker A:

It's more about you bought like a person who bonds with their abuser than if like you were a per.

Speaker B:

You and another person experience the same thing.

Speaker A:

Experience the same thing together, which is still a thing, but it's just like a little bit version of that.

Speaker A:

I was like, oh, I guess that's not.

Speaker A:

But one of the reasons is, is that oxytocin, which is the love hormone, is one of the things that pumps to your body when you get adrenaline and when you're scared.

Speaker A:

So if you are with another person in that situation, then you're more likely to become close to them because you have those hormones that are going through there that like make you feel a little gooey towards each other.

Speaker B:

Huh.

Speaker A:

Thanks, science.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

There you go.

Speaker A:

Someday.

Speaker A:

It was like made to protect us from bears, but now it just, you know, gives us anxiety.

Speaker A:

Anyway, so we have that going on and Claire is pondering, maybe I don't need to go to college.

Speaker A:

Maybe I just leave here and go become a full time hunter.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

So we.

Speaker A:

We leave on that note and go back to the high school where we see Mr. P from earlier and it's.

Speaker B:

Nighttime and he's walking to his car and the lights shut off and he gets grabbed and gets his face bashed into the window of his own car.

Speaker B:

Which is rude.

Speaker A:

It is rude.

Speaker A:

So we go back to that high.

Speaker B:

School in the daylight and Mr. P is hanging from his foot, duct taped to the flagpole.

Speaker B:

The top of the flagpole.

Speaker A:

I can do that.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I can wrap my foot up and hang upside down like that.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

That's impressive.

Speaker B:

Yeah, that is impressive.

Speaker B:

I cannot.

Speaker B:

Cannot.

Speaker B:

So Mr. P is dead and Alex is bummed because it's like her favorite teacher.

Speaker B:

By the way, we did find that out in the intro.

Speaker B:

So she's super bummed.

Speaker B:

And Jody is there, obviously because she's the sheriff and there's a murder and she is telling Sam and Dean, who are there as FBI agents, that about this because that was her favorite teacher.

Speaker B:

And it looks like he had his neck snapped.

Speaker B:

And the guys have to ponder how he may have gotten up there, but Jody found some fuzzy stuff on the floor.

Speaker A:

It looks like weed.

Speaker A:

Jody hands Sam.

Speaker A:

A bag of weed.

Speaker A:

That's what I have in my notes.

Speaker A:

And say they're going to send it.

Speaker B:

Off like that look like lint.

Speaker B:

Like, from my dryer.

Speaker A:

It just looked like a green.

Speaker A:

Like, green.

Speaker A:

Maybe this is my brain when everything looks like weed, so.

Speaker B:

But Claire sees monsters.

Speaker B:

You see weed.

Speaker A:

That's how we go, you know?

Speaker A:

But apparently Mr. P, like, he was like, not.

Speaker A:

He was a good person.

Speaker A:

He was so bummed.

Speaker B:

Yeah, except he was a math teacher.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

Can you be that good?

Speaker B:

I'm just kidding.

Speaker A:

And then here comes Claire with her I.

Speaker A:

With an I told you so.

Speaker B:

Well, but she just strolls into the crime scene, up to the.

Speaker B:

Up to Jody, Sam, and Dean, and is like, oh, what's.

Speaker B:

You know, Wants to know what's going on in the crime scene.

Speaker B:

And they're like, you can't be here.

Speaker B:

And she's like, oh, but the fake FBI can.

Speaker B:

And I was very amused that she.

Speaker A:

Called that out, except for the fact that she said it very loudly.

Speaker B:

She did.

Speaker B:

So Dean pulls her aside and is like, look, I get that you're trying to work this case, but you can't just walk up to officers and insist on get the sheriff giving you details about a murder.

Speaker B:

It just doesn't work that way.

Speaker B:

You just can't do it.

Speaker B:

And so.

Speaker A:

And also, I think he's given up on this whole, like, Sam.

Speaker A:

Sam will have a nice talk to her, and now I'm just gonna chew her ass out.

Speaker A:

And she's just like, yeah.

Speaker A:

He just starts yelling at her and just like, nobody wants to go to school, Claire.

Speaker B:

It's school.

Speaker A:

And I'm like, I want to go to school.

Speaker A:

But he really starts telling her to, like, that you need to give a crap.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker B:

Like, well, just be, like, respectful of people that are, like, trying to help you.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So he's.

Speaker B:

He's telling, like, talking about how, like, you know, Jody busts her ass to keep Claire out of jail.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And she's like, I don't.

Speaker B:

I didn't ask her to.

Speaker B:

He's like, that's the point.

Speaker B:

That's her caring about you.

Speaker B:

So anyways, Alex and Henry walk up.

Speaker B:

They're like, by the way, school's canceled.

Speaker B:

We're gonna go make out.

Speaker A:

And Dean just gives Henry the stink.

Speaker B:

Guy stares him down.

Speaker B:

And Henry, as they're walking away, Henry says, alex, you know the FBI.

Speaker B:

And she's like, jody does?

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Which, honestly, her mom says that her mom's a sheriff.

Speaker B:

That would make sense.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Like, this Maybe I'm not that surprised.

Speaker A:

So now we're going through the school where Jody and Sam are questioning who I guess is the principal, who is wearing super tall heels for someone who spends her day walking around a high school school.

Speaker B:

And she says that we're gonna find that.

Speaker B:

She's talking about the person that murdered Mr.

Speaker B:

Peaks.

Speaker B:

He was so beloved.

Speaker B:

Like, we're gonna find that bastard, turn his insides out, and string him up.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

She is quite violent.

Speaker B:

She's.

Speaker A:

This.

Speaker A:

This may be a Texan school, so.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Where's.

Speaker A:

Where's out.

Speaker A:

Subsota.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

So we have a violent principal.

Speaker A:

Then Dean is going through, like, with emf.

Speaker A:

Like, his EMF meter.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

While Sam and Jody go find our janitor.

Speaker A:

Who.

Speaker B:

He.

Speaker B:

Who found the body.

Speaker B:

And he thought it may have been a prank at first.

Speaker B:

And so Sam, of course, is asking if there's anything weird.

Speaker B:

And he's like, anything weirder than a teacher taped to the top of my pole?

Speaker A:

Also, have you had new smells?

Speaker A:

And it's like, it's a high school.

Speaker B:

Of course I.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

The answer is yes.

Speaker B:

So we find out that Jody points out that Mr. Wheeler, this janitor, is not.

Speaker B:

Doesn't seem very upset about what happened.

Speaker B:

And so Sam asks where he was the night before, and he admits that he was passed out at the Blind Donkey.

Speaker B:

The night before.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Which I think that earlier.

Speaker A:

Dude, it's not that you didn't.

Speaker A:

And so then we're gonna go to Sam and Dean.

Speaker A:

They're together now, and Dean has checked out everything and only found horny teachers.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And the.

Speaker B:

But the custodian is squirrely, so something is going on.

Speaker B:

They know they have a case of some kind.

Speaker A:

Something's happening.

Speaker A:

So we go from there to the woods, and Alex is in Bumtown.

Speaker B:

She's sad about Mr. P. And, you know.

Speaker B:

And so she starts sharing with Henry that there are awful things out there, and she wasn't always this girl.

Speaker B:

And he's like, I know.

Speaker B:

You know, you had to run away from home, and Jody took you in.

Speaker B:

I get it.

Speaker B:

I mean.

Speaker B:

And he's.

Speaker B:

And she's like, no, I've done bad things.

Speaker B:

And then we are getting our flashback of Alex being arrested, and we see her baiting different victims for vampires.

Speaker B:

And you can tell she wants to tell Henry, but she stops herself.

Speaker B:

And he gives his big confession of bullying a kid in middle school.

Speaker B:

And the guilt that he has from that, and he's like, I don't care what you did before.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's fine now.

Speaker B:

And, like, and they kiss.

Speaker A:

Let's make out.

Speaker A:

You know, I like that.

Speaker A:

You're damaged.

Speaker A:

That's hot.

Speaker A:

Which is actually what most guys would say, so.

Speaker A:

Especially high school dudes.

Speaker A:

And so we go from there, from them hugging back to the house where Sam and Claire are working on the dining room table when Dean and Jody come in.

Speaker A:

And they have discovered the fiber was not weed, but in fact, asbestos.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

And they and their janitors alibi checked out, but his Social Security number did not.

Speaker B:

So it belongs to somebody else.

Speaker B:

And they need to go talk to him because.

Speaker A:

Yeah, and that person was one of the ones who.

Speaker A:

They disappeared right when.

Speaker A:

Right when Claire.

Speaker A:

Like, when everyone started going missing.

Speaker A:

And so.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

So Claire is all excited, though, because she has a suit and she wants to go as an FBI trainee with them.

Speaker A:

They know that Jody's your mom, Claire.

Speaker A:

You just can't show up in a fake, ugly suit and be like, I'm FBI.

Speaker A:

That's not how this works.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And Jody's also like, you have an appointment with the registrar so that you don't get kicked out of school.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

And she tries to balk, and then Dean just gives her a hay.

Speaker A:

And she kind of like, all right, I'll do it.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

And so we go to nighttime, and.

Speaker B:

Jody and Claire are by the truck.

Speaker B:

Claire is talking about the registrar's outfit.

Speaker B:

So they have returned from the registrar's office, and Mr. Wheeler is there in the garage.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Claire was bitching about how she was dressed because she dressed nice.

Speaker A:

I was just like, what?

Speaker A:

No, she wasn't.

Speaker A:

She wasn't making it.

Speaker A:

She was bitching about how.

Speaker A:

The way she was dressed and that so she looks nice for the register, and that's why.

Speaker A:

And then Jody was like, there's a reason murderers put on monkey suits and they go in front of a judge.

Speaker A:

So that was that part, but not a big deal.

Speaker A:

Yeah, whatever.

Speaker A:

No, it's just because I'm obsessed with the, you know, the bad FBI outfit that Claire would put on.

Speaker A:

So that happens.

Speaker A:

And then Wheeler comes in.

Speaker A:

Well, whatever his name is.

Speaker B:

Well, yeah, we think he's Mr. Wheeler, the janitor right now.

Speaker B:

And he hits Jody on the head with a shovel.

Speaker B:

Claire tries to go protect her and gets picked up by her throat.

Speaker B:

And he fucking grows vampire teeth.

Speaker B:

He.

Speaker B:

He's a vampire.

Speaker A:

He is a vampire.

Speaker A:

And he has her by the throat.

Speaker A:

But he.

Speaker A:

She.

Speaker A:

She.

Speaker A:

And she tries a knife in, but won't work.

Speaker A:

And she gets knocked around.

Speaker B:

And then Jody gets her leg broken.

Speaker A:

Oh, it was really painful.

Speaker A:

Then Wheeler takes Claire, and Jody gets out her phone.

Speaker B:

Mm.

Speaker B:

And while this is all happening, Sam and Dean are leaving the house that they had on the address they had on record for Mr. Wheeler.

Speaker B:

Fun fact.

Speaker B:

Fake address.

Speaker B:

So Jody has called Dean, and he hears her basically getting her ass beat and screaming.

Speaker B:

It's terrible.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

So then we cut to baby pulling up.

Speaker A:

And Claire and Jody are already gone.

Speaker A:

But he finds Claire's knife and Jody's phone.

Speaker A:

Damn it.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

So he knows that something was waiting for them in the garage.

Speaker B:

And his phone rings.

Speaker B:

And they are looking for the sheriff.

Speaker B:

They have id'd our fake janitor.

Speaker B:

Custodian.

Speaker B:

Dude is a truck driver from Nebraska that's been missing for three years.

Speaker B:

And his family was found exsanguinated.

Speaker B:

Such a good word.

Speaker A:

It is.

Speaker A:

And Dean is also acting as Agent Noon, which is a reference to former Def Leppard drummer Frank Noon.

Speaker B:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker B:

And so now they know that they are looking for a vampire.

Speaker B:

And they are already wondering, could it be part of Alex's old nest?

Speaker A:

Well, because it was from.

Speaker A:

He was from o', Neill, and that's where Alex's old nest was.

Speaker A:

So Rut row.

Speaker A:

So let's split up, of course, because.

Speaker B:

That'S what we always do.

Speaker B:

That goes so well.

Speaker A:

This.

Speaker B:

Anyways, so Dean's gonna go warn Alex, which is smart.

Speaker B:

Somebody does have to go tell her what the going on.

Speaker B:

And Sam's gonna go back.

Speaker B:

Back to.

Speaker B:

To try to find the custodians.

Speaker B:

Go search the custodian's office to see if they can find any more tidbits in there.

Speaker B:

I wrote custodian and janitor.

Speaker B:

And I just keep interchanging.

Speaker B:

And I feel like that's simpler enough, but either way.

Speaker B:

So Dean talks to Alex.

Speaker B:

She is in Henry's Jeep while he is out, you know, at the shop, grabbing stuff at this restaurant.

Speaker B:

And it's five minutes down there.

Speaker B:

Or Dean's like, stay where you're at.

Speaker B:

I am five minutes away.

Speaker B:

The custodian is a vampire.

Speaker B:

Don't move.

Speaker B:

And so Henry gets back in the car, and she's like, so, Henry, you can't.

Speaker B:

I have to.

Speaker B:

You have to leave me here.

Speaker B:

I'm not.

Speaker B:

I'm not going.

Speaker B:

We can't let go anywhere.

Speaker B:

I gotta wait here.

Speaker B:

And he is like, no.

Speaker B:

And he's a vampire, too.

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker A:

How do you not know he's a vampire?

Speaker A:

You lived in a vampire nest for eight years.

Speaker A:

And sometimes you just don't know the people that you're with.

Speaker A:

So do you know the people that you're With Diana.

Speaker A:

Do you know, Are you married to a vampire?

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker A:

We're going to take a quiz and find out.

Speaker A:

All right, so I did write this quiz.

Speaker A:

I found this quiz, and it's are you dating?

Speaker A:

But we're just going to interchange dating with married to.

Speaker A:

,:

Speaker A:

And we may skip some of these questions because there's 17 of them.

Speaker A:

So, yeah, they.

Speaker A:

They went all out.

Speaker A:

So how often does your significant other sleep during the day?

Speaker A:

So if.

Speaker A:

For those of you who do not know, Diana is married to Babe, our audio engineer, so he will be hopefully listening to all this stuff as well.

Speaker A:

So how often does your significant other sleep during the day?

Speaker A:

All the time.

Speaker A:

Never or only when we stayed up super late the night before because this is us kept ending on a cliffhanger.

Speaker B:

Well, we don't watch this as us, so.

Speaker B:

But otherwise that.

Speaker B:

Otherwise the third one.

Speaker A:

Okay, only when we say episode.

Speaker A:

Is your significant other inexplicably wealthy?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

They always spring for extra guac.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Which I know because they use one ply toilet paper.

Speaker B:

I mean, out of those two.

Speaker B:

We're gonna go with the extra guac.

Speaker A:

That's right.

Speaker A:

How does your significant other feel about garlic bread?

Speaker A:

They enjoy it like a normal person or they don't enjoy it?

Speaker A:

And sometimes I wonder if this is a deal breaker.

Speaker B:

They enjoy it like a normal person.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker A:

What is their favorite subject in school?

Speaker A:

Is it English, science, theater, math, art, or history?

Speaker B:

Huh?

Speaker A:

Oh, no.

Speaker A:

You're feeling the Newlywed Game.

Speaker B:

I know.

Speaker B:

I'm gonna.

Speaker B:

I.

Speaker A:

Well, it's a.

Speaker B:

It's a coin flip.

Speaker B:

I'm gonna go because, like, art could be music.

Speaker B:

So we're gonna go with that.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker A:

Would you say your significant other is physically strong?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Or suspiciously so?

Speaker A:

Almost as if they embody the supernatural strength of 20 able bodied men?

Speaker B:

Where's.

Speaker B:

We go with yes.

Speaker A:

Do they have reflection?

Speaker A:

Yes or no?

Speaker A:

But I've never asked because I don't want to be rude.

Speaker B:

That's hilarious that that's an option, but we're gonna go, yes, he has a reflection.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker B:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

What about a shadow?

Speaker A:

Yes, they have one of those or no, I can't.

Speaker A:

Or I can't say for sure, but that they don't.

Speaker A:

But also can't say for sure that they do.

Speaker B:

Let me go with I can't say for sure.

Speaker A:

Have you ever seen it?

Speaker A:

Are they able to run across water unassisted?

Speaker A:

Yes or no?

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker A:

Are you sure?

Speaker A:

Can they scale vertical walls?

Speaker A:

With relative ease.

Speaker A:

Yes or no?

Speaker A:

Do they appear weaker in sunlight?

Speaker A:

Yes or no?

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

I think we all do.

Speaker A:

Which of the following best describes their living quarters?

Speaker A:

A modern medium sized house in the suburbs.

Speaker A:

A small apartment with several plants.

Speaker A:

A condo with an in ground pool.

Speaker A:

Or a large winding castle with several dungeons, many hallways, and an air of mystery that suggests something terrible happened here long ago?

Speaker B:

Well, it's the first one, but I kind of am disappointed it wasn't the last one.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

I think that may need to be your ex husband.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Do they strike fear into the hearts of horses?

Speaker A:

Now that you mention it, they do.

Speaker A:

Or.

Speaker A:

Not that I've seen.

Speaker B:

No, just.

Speaker B:

Just large birds.

Speaker A:

Does your significant other seem to have an affinity for animals such as rats, wolves and lizards?

Speaker A:

Do they hold dominion over them?

Speaker A:

Can they force them to obey their every command?

Speaker A:

Yes, but I just thought they were good with animals or.

Speaker A:

Nope.

Speaker B:

Nope.

Speaker A:

Can they manipulate the weather and call forth such events as fogs, storms and ominous mist?

Speaker A:

Yes or no?

Speaker A:

No, that could be tomorrow.

Speaker A:

Can they explode into a thousand live bats on a whim?

Speaker A:

Yes, I thought that was weird.

Speaker A:

Or no, they cannot do that.

Speaker B:

I wish.

Speaker B:

No, I cannot do that.

Speaker A:

Talk about your dating choices.

Speaker A:

The first time they.

Speaker A:

Yeah, right.

Speaker A:

The first time they ever came over, did they enter uninvited?

Speaker A:

Or did you foolishly welcome them into your home with nary a thought for the consequences?

Speaker B:

Foolishly invited them into my.

Speaker A:

You welcomed them in like a fool.

Speaker A:

All right, and our last question.

Speaker A:

Are you beginning to suspect they are the undead prince of Wallachia, Recall from death by way of black magic, unable to find peace until you, their intended victim, drive a wooden stake or cold iron through their heart and free them from the joyless, insatiable existence in which they toil?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

No, or I wasn't, but I sure am now.

Speaker B:

That one.

Speaker A:

That one.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

They didn't give me an answer.

Speaker A:

Oh, no.

Speaker A:

It is no.

Speaker A:

Okay, I know they did.

Speaker A:

Again, it's unlikely that you are dating a vampire.

Speaker A:

Good news.

Speaker A:

Given the way that you responded to these quiz questions, I'm able to say with a fair degree of certainty that your significant other is not currently a vampire.

Speaker A:

They may become one in the future, of course, but that is a possibility we almost live with.

Speaker A:

We'll just have to cross that bridge.

Speaker A:

We come to it.

Speaker A:

Enjoy dating.

Speaker A:

You're not a vampire.

Speaker B:

Nice.

Speaker A:

Now, now, just because I wanted to do something, just to keep us on supernatural track, we're going to do one quick other quiz.

Speaker A:

Which is what supernatural character you should end up With.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Diana, what is most important to you in a relationship?

Speaker A:

Is it physical appearance, loyalty, honesty, kindness, humor, or charm?

Speaker B:

Oh, that's tough.

Speaker B:

Let's.

Speaker B:

Let's go with.

Speaker B:

Let's go Loyalty.

Speaker A:

Which type of supernatural being would you be?

Speaker A:

Angel, witch, demon, ghost hunter, or God?

Speaker B:

Angel, witch, demon, ghost, ghost hunter, or God?

Speaker B:

God.

Speaker A:

What was your favorite school subject?

Speaker A:

English, Math, lunch, debate, history, or philosophy?

Speaker B:

English.

Speaker A:

What's your biggest fear?

Speaker A:

Spiders.

Speaker A:

Dying alone, Height, Being buried alive.

Speaker A:

Rejection or losing someone you love?

Speaker A:

Spiders.

Speaker B:

Right out of those.

Speaker A:

Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

Christ.

Speaker B:

I'll go with losing someone I love.

Speaker A:

All right, so then now they want to know which is your favorite female supernatural character?

Speaker A:

Is it Rowena, Mary, Ruby, number two.

Speaker A:

Meg, number two.

Speaker A:

Charlie or Joe?

Speaker B:

I think I'm gonna go.

Speaker A:

We go.

Speaker B:

Meg, number two.

Speaker A:

Oh, wow.

Speaker B:

You.

Speaker A:

You.

Speaker A:

Congratulate you.

Speaker A:

You graduated to, like, major Rachel minor.

Speaker A:

I can say her name.

Speaker A:

And according to her quiz, you are Cassiel.

Speaker A:

Oh, I guess that's the one you're supposed to be with, right?

Speaker B:

Castiel, You're.

Speaker A:

Well, yeah.

Speaker A:

Which makes sense because you know of Maggie and Castiel.

Speaker A:

So Casio might just be the sweetest thing to ever grace this earth.

Speaker A:

He will do whatever he can to make you happy.

Speaker A:

He may not always understand your references, but he will always have your back.

Speaker A:

Back.

Speaker A:

So when you stop dating or marrying your husband because he's not a vampire, you can be with an angel.

Speaker A:

All right, so let's get back.

Speaker B:

Did you take the quiz?

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

I already know who I'm supposed to be with.

Speaker B:

It's fine.

Speaker A:

He died in an explosion.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

All right, so we go from Sam's in the custodian's office, and he's got a blueprint of something.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And so he is trying to look at this.

Speaker B:

And is this map in the dark, Which I guess there's not a light switch.

Speaker B:

It's weird.

Speaker A:

I. I think there's a light switch in there.

Speaker A:

I just don't know why you didn't turn it on.

Speaker A:

So then we go from there to the burger place, where Dean pulls up and Alex is gone.

Speaker A:

But her cell phone is not.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And it's ringing on the ground as he's trying to call her.

Speaker A:

Her.

Speaker B:

So he's sad because she's gone.

Speaker B:

So he calls Sam to tell him this.

Speaker B:

And Sam's like, okay, that blows.

Speaker B:

By the way, I found this map.

Speaker B:

And apparently there's this giant building that on campus that no one noticed before.

Speaker B:

They have a whole ass natatorium on campus.

Speaker A:

Look at that word.

Speaker A:

That you just dropped.

Speaker B:

I Know, you're welcome.

Speaker B:

I like that word.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's a closed pool building.

Speaker A:

All of those are haunted.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Like they close it for asbestos.

Speaker A:

But we all know every building that once had a pool in it is haunted.

Speaker A:

It's just.

Speaker B:

Just.

Speaker A:

It's just the way it is.

Speaker A:

So in there, in this building that nobody notices Jody and Claire are tied up.

Speaker A:

And Claire's like, aren't those the missing bodies?

Speaker A:

And then Jody tells her, right.

Speaker A:

And Claire does not make her say it over and over again or do a dance on her broken leg, which I think is probably quite noble of her.

Speaker B:

Yeah, noble is that we're going with, so.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker B:

And they want to know what they're there for.

Speaker B:

And Henry walks in with Alex, and Alex is like, what is happening?

Speaker B:

And we find out that Mr. Wheeler.

Speaker B:

We know that Mr. Wheeler is Richard Beeson now.

Speaker B:

We learned that when.

Speaker B:

When we found out his real identity.

Speaker B:

And so he's like, this is your whole life.

Speaker B:

And so they tie her up, too.

Speaker B:

And he's like, you know, he wants to know if Alex knows who he is.

Speaker B:

And he is mad because she took his life away from him.

Speaker B:

Basically, he gives the story about how she was leaving the bar.

Speaker B:

A bar.

Speaker B:

When.

Speaker B:

Back when she was in Nebraska and with her with the nest.

Speaker B:

And some sleazy dude was trying to, like, follow was bothering her in the parking lot, and Besom ran that guy off and gave her money and gave her a ride, and then she turned away and let him get attacked by her nest when he was just a good guy.

Speaker B:

She was usually trapping, like, sleaze balls.

Speaker B:

And then this guy was a nice guy that tried to help her, and she let him get eaten, and he got turned.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

The guy that he probably saved her from was probably the guy that she was taking home to feed her family.

Speaker A:

And so someone had to.

Speaker A:

Someone had to be dinner.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So sorry, man.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And Jody's insisting that Alex didn't have a choice, and he's like, yeah, I went home covered in blood, and I went berserk, and I gutted my wife and my kid.

Speaker B:

So, yeah, I'm mad that you didn't leave me alone at the bar when I tried to help you, because I was a good guy.

Speaker B:

And that was.

Speaker B:

This is.

Speaker B:

You know, that's the only thing that kept me going since then is to find you and make you pay.

Speaker A:

Revenge.

Speaker A:

Revenge.

Speaker A:

This is when Henry chimes in.

Speaker A:

And then we're gonna find out that Mr. Beeson is up, because what he decided to do that, he was like, you Were just really depressed and sad.

Speaker A:

So I decided to Cinderella your ass.

Speaker A:

And he got the pot.

Speaker A:

He's like, I'm gonna make the popular guy like you by turning him into a vampire.

Speaker A:

What the man like that is.

Speaker A:

Oh, you're.

Speaker A:

You're wrong, man.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I know you take it away.

Speaker A:

I know you ate your child.

Speaker A:

But still, this is really.

Speaker A:

This is up.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So his whole thing was that he got the popular guy to start dating her to make her feel like she was something special.

Speaker B:

And then he took away her favorite teacher, and now he's taking away the boyfriend, and now he's going to take away her family and to feed the rest of his.

Speaker B:

So Alex asked Henry if any of it was real.

Speaker B:

And he makes it abundantly clear that he is a. Yep.

Speaker A:

And she spits in his face like a champ.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Then he slept.

Speaker B:

She does.

Speaker B:

I thought one.

Speaker B:

One kind of somewhat dated reference, but he makes a trench coat mafia reference.

Speaker B:

And I'm like, I haven't heard that ever.

Speaker B:

But that was pretty.

Speaker B:

Like from the late 90s into the aughts, you would hear comments about that about like the sad goth kids.

Speaker B:

Well, and then the school violence stuff.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I would say you clearly do not listen to as much true crime as I do.

Speaker A:

I have clearly.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, call them.

Speaker A:

Well, yeah, especially.

Speaker A:

And sadly, anytime that we talk about mass shooters, a lot of times that still comes up and.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Anyways.

Speaker A:

Okay, so we're gonna go on tangent on that and we.

Speaker A:

That is not what.

Speaker A:

We don't have time for that tangent anyhow.

Speaker A:

So where the were we?

Speaker A:

So child.

Speaker B:

Claire tells.

Speaker B:

Claire tells Henry that.

Speaker B:

Yeah, who else?

Speaker B:

We're reading some positive.

Speaker B:

Claire tells Henry that he's gonna burn in hell and calls him a sociopath.

Speaker B:

And good old Besom says that Henry has a mean streak.

Speaker B:

He's the one that killed Mr. P. And had to string him up.

Speaker B:

Just had to do it to show off.

Speaker B:

But that was great and all, except it brought a lot of cops out, so.

Speaker B:

But he decides he's gonna.

Speaker B:

He.

Speaker B:

He makes a grab for Claire and Jody's like, by the way, those FBI guys aren't just FBI guys.

Speaker B:

They are hunters.

Speaker B:

They know about you, Beeson.

Speaker B:

And they killed all of Alex's nest.

Speaker B:

They are coming.

Speaker B:

And Sam enters at that point and while.

Speaker B:

While he is walking through the building, Alex is telling.

Speaker B:

Trying to convince Henry that he doesn't really want to do this.

Speaker B:

And she's.

Speaker B:

He's like, yo, you did this.

Speaker B:

You know?

Speaker B:

And Beeson's telling Alex that like, look, you're gonna watch everyone you love die because you.

Speaker B:

I'm crazy.

Speaker A:

That's what he.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And she offers to be his blood bag and procure.

Speaker A:

And he's like, I kept that nest alive for eight years.

Speaker A:

And I mean that is such a long time to like there's no way like even with a good boyfriend, like she should be in like eight hours of therapy a day.

Speaker A:

So be.

Speaker A:

Something bites Claire.

Speaker A:

And so now we have that fight happen.

Speaker A:

Sam comes in.

Speaker A:

Now we start getting our fights.

Speaker B:

Now we get a big old fight scene.

Speaker A:

You're right.

Speaker B:

That was the big old fight scene.

Speaker B:

Sam gets his fighting with Beeson.

Speaker B:

And then while that's happening, Jody's able to hint for Claire to get a box cutter thing.

Speaker B:

And now Sam's in the pool fighting Henry because they fall in there and he's.

Speaker B:

And Henry has a two by four.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

It's all crazy.

Speaker B:

It's chaos.

Speaker B:

Straight chaos and.

Speaker B:

But in all of this, Claire is able to stab Beeson in the back as Jody is getting free.

Speaker B:

And Dean arrives and beheads him.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

And Claire confirms that she didn't drink any blood.

Speaker A:

You don't have to worry about that, Dean.

Speaker A:

We're fine.

Speaker A:

And then Sam brings Alex Henry who is still super, super gross.

Speaker A:

And so Alex punches him and Clara beheads him.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Like a good sister.

Speaker A:

So we go from there to yet another glorious breakfast at Jody.

Speaker A:

Jody's house.

Speaker B:

You say that this kitchen is messy as it's so stressful.

Speaker A:

Well, that's what I was saying.

Speaker A:

Like they have all this food and the kitchen's clean.

Speaker A:

You know, like I'm like, oh man.

Speaker A:

Like that's so nice.

Speaker A:

Someone.

Speaker A:

And like there's people do the dishes for you.

Speaker B:

Oh.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

But Jody comes in and she's on crutches and the girls have made her breakfast which is.

Speaker B:

Or tried to.

Speaker B:

Yeah, they tried.

Speaker B:

And Alex feels very guilty because she thinks it's all her fault.

Speaker B:

And they're like, no, no, you know, you're.

Speaker B:

You're.

Speaker B:

You're good.

Speaker B:

It's not you.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

But family makes things scary because you have so much to lose.

Speaker A:

Like I literally had to stop and cry at that point.

Speaker A:

So then we go from that to the driveway where baby is wet and her windows are down.

Speaker B:

It's a weird choice but yeah, they must have left the windows down in the rain or it's very.

Speaker B:

A lot of condensation.

Speaker B:

That's smell all musty in there now.

Speaker A:

Anyways, dry her off.

Speaker A:

So Claire solely swears to Dean.

Speaker A:

That she won't hunt like a dumbass.

Speaker A:

And Jody is going to teach her to vet leave.

Speaker A:

And I'm like, seriously, Jody, get her into criminal law classes.

Speaker A:

What is wrong with you?

Speaker A:

Like, clearly she was.

Speaker A:

She wants to be an investigator.

Speaker A:

Like, let her.

Speaker B:

That's a.

Speaker B:

That she can go to school for that.

Speaker B:

If you want to go to school, do that.

Speaker B:

Well, do I have to teach you.

Speaker A:

How to motivate your children?

Speaker A:

God.

Speaker A:

So Sam then is just happy as can be because he's got leftovers.

Speaker B:

He's got all the leftover containers.

Speaker B:

He is stoked.

Speaker B:

And he goes to talk to Alex and Claire is there too.

Speaker B:

And he's like, look, other vamps might come.

Speaker B:

And she's like, yeah, and I might have to move on at some point.

Speaker B:

I just can't be around what they're doing.

Speaker B:

Pointing, talking.

Speaker B:

About what?

Speaker B:

Jody and Claire.

Speaker B:

Yeah, she doesn't really want to be around that world.

Speaker B:

She does not want to be around the world where vampires are coming after and all that kind of.

Speaker B:

And it draws attention.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Well, I don't think it's the attention thing is that she just doesn't want to be around monsters, period.

Speaker B:

Well, that.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Correct.

Speaker A:

And so it's like she like where as Claire is all gung ho, I want to hunt forever.

Speaker A:

Alex wants nothing to do with this world.

Speaker A:

Correct.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And Jody said, it'll be fine as long as everyone wears a condom.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

And it is true.

Speaker A:

As long as everyone wears a condom, we will be fine.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Sam and Dean drive away on that note.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Leaving the three women in the driveway.

Speaker A:

That's how we end.

Speaker A:

So do we have some.

Speaker A:

Do we get to learn who some vampire dishes are?

Speaker A:

Casting couch is the casting couch.

Speaker A:

Were they on that show that time with that guy?

Speaker B:

We do get to learn some vampire douches.

Speaker B:

Mr. Wheeler, aka Richard Besom, was played by Ben Cotton.

Speaker B:

He's been a lot of stuff.

Speaker B:

of Smallville, True Calling,:

Speaker B:

And he been in a few movies too.

Speaker B:

He's done.

Speaker B:

He was a guard in Chronicles of Riddick.

Speaker B:

He was Charlie in Slither.

Speaker B:

He was a truck driver in the Day the Earth Stood Still.

Speaker B:

He's Travis in the TV show Hellcats as a reoccurring character about 10 times.

Speaker B:

He was Tweedle number two in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland about nine times.

Speaker B:

And Jimmy in Resident Alien about eight times.

Speaker B:

So someone you've seen before.

Speaker B:

Henry was played by Jedediah Goodacre.

Speaker B:

He's been in episodes of Fire country and Tracker, interestingly enough.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

But we.

Speaker A:

We forgot to do news.

Speaker A:

So Jensen's coming back for Tracker season three.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Yeah, go on.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

And then.

Speaker B:

And there's a. I saw a little tidbit that there's hints that.

Speaker B:

That Jared might be doing more with Fire country, so we'll see.

Speaker B:

But Henry, Jedediah was also had.

Speaker B:

It was the jet pack buddy in Tomorrowland.

Speaker B:

He was Chad Charming in Descendants and Descendants two and three, the kids movies.

Speaker B:

Not bad.

Speaker A:

Not the punk rock band.

Speaker B:

Not the punk rock band.

Speaker B:

He's Roman in the originals a few times as well as in Legacies a couple times.

Speaker B:

He's Kyle on the TV show the Order on Netflix half a dozen times, and Dorian Gray in Riverdale about a dozen times as well.

Speaker B:

Mr. P was played by Preston, Preston Vander Slice, who's from Dallas, Texas.

Speaker B:

He's been in episodes of Arrow and has done a ton of Hallmark.

Speaker B:

Our principal Ramirez, who was violent as shit, she was played by Veena Sud.

Speaker B:

She's been.

Speaker B:

Her career spans long time as well.

Speaker B:

She's been episodes of 21, Jump Street, L Word, Smallville, Fringe V, Bates Motel I, Zombie X Files, Lucifer, Ghost, Ghost Wars, Riverdale, Charmed, Nancy Drew, and more.

Speaker B:

She was.

Speaker B:

She's played a nurse in a lot of things.

Speaker B:

It was just real random.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

She was a nurse in Final Destination 2, Butterfly Effect 2, and 50.

Speaker B:

50.

Speaker B:

But Doug, our guy from the first that gets the first with the sword to his throat, was played by Ty Wood.

Speaker B:

He's been episodes of Eyed Zombie, the Order, Riverdale and Kung Fu.

Speaker B:

n the reboot of Beverly Hills:

Speaker B:

He was Billy in the chilling Adventures of Sabrina and was.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Oh, A Trip in Greece, Rise of the Pink Ladies.

Speaker B:

His girlfriend was Angela Palmer.

Speaker B:

She's been episodes of Izombie, Travelers, Good Doctor and more.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

All right, so those are.

Speaker A:

Yeah, those are for.

Speaker A:

I didn't realize, like, I really was just thinking about the two guys.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah, there were some other people, too.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I know.

Speaker B:

I mean, I.

Speaker B:

You know, sometimes that's easy to overlook some of our characters that don't have as much of a large role, but sometimes it's interesting looking at but where you may have seen them before, and I think sometimes it helps.

Speaker B:

Like, I don't know.

Speaker B:

It's interesting because you have this familiarity with their faces, even though you don't know their character.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

It's Kind of interesting, for sure.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So, I don't know.

Speaker B:

I like this episode.

Speaker A:

Why do you like it?

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

I thought it was.

Speaker B:

Oh, I liked.

Speaker B:

I liked revisiting.

Speaker B:

I liked having a core of characters we knew.

Speaker B:

I thought that part was nice because we don't get that very often in the show, I would say, other than the main.

Speaker B:

And women who live well.

Speaker B:

That too.

Speaker B:

Surprise.

Speaker B:

But we don't get.

Speaker B:

Yeah, we don't get a lot of that.

Speaker B:

So we had the, you know, some interesting.

Speaker B:

We get some continuance of the story of female characters that we liked that survived.

Speaker B:

And also it was, you know, it kind of.

Speaker B:

It had monster of the week vibes, which was fun.

Speaker B:

Even though it was dark as.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

I mean, and it was twisty.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

The.

Speaker A:

The whole Alex coming in like this was, you know, they're coming for you.

Speaker A:

Alex.

Speaker A:

Alex.

Speaker A:

You know, that is a good twist to put in there.

Speaker A:

I think that it wasn't just, like, Claire thinking it was a random monster.

Speaker A:

And, you know, we've got the Claire and Alex dynamic, which is fun having, you know, those two in there.

Speaker A:

Although, like I said, it just.

Speaker A:

It feels like to me, like, Alex is the older sister, like, is why it seems weird that Claire is in college and Alex is in high school.

Speaker A:

We just want to say, like, it's not that the actress looks like she's too old to be in there.

Speaker A:

I just feel like Alex is.

Speaker A:

And maybe it's because she spent eight years, like, killing vampires, but she just seems much.

Speaker A:

I don't know, like, it's a maturity.

Speaker A:

More mature.

Speaker A:

Yeah, Seems more mature.

Speaker B:

I agree.

Speaker B:

Fully agree with that.

Speaker B:

Claire comes across as a lot more juvenile of a character, and I wonder if that there's a variety.

Speaker B:

I mean, we could probably.

Speaker B:

I don't know if it's just the way they're written or if there's.

Speaker B:

We could do, like, psychoanalyze characters of a TV show in depth if we want to, but I think I felt that way as well.

Speaker A:

Like, what?

Speaker A:

Like, are you thinking, like, a podcast, talking about these characters or something?

Speaker A:

I don't know what you're talking about.

Speaker A:

Talking about.

Speaker B:

So weird.

Speaker B:

Yeah, no, but I think I. I.

Speaker A:

Agree there's a time for that.

Speaker A:

There is a time and a place to discuss and to deconstruct characters of supernatural.

Speaker A:

Diana.

Speaker B:

But no, I fully agree that Claire comes across as a lot less mature than Alex's character.

Speaker B:

I think Alex's character is a lot more serious.

Speaker B:

And Al And.

Speaker B:

And Claire, because of the darkness that she's seen and Claire's seen that too.

Speaker B:

But it's been different.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It seems, you know, and maybe it is just, you know, if it's a maturity thing and the growth and Claire seems slow, maybe that's it, too.

Speaker B:

Maybe that's it.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

So on the growth note, we'll say goodnight and tears jerk.

Speaker B:

Cheers.
