The David Spoon Experience dives into the critical topic of the sanctity of life and the moral implications surrounding abortion, emphasizing that the Bible clearly supports the view that life begins at conception. David Spoon engages with callers Rosalind and Robert, who share their personal experiences of witnessing to others about Jesus, highlighting the unexpected opportunities God creates for sharing faith. Throughout the conversation, they discuss the importance of being available for God’s work and the need for believers to actively participate in advancing His kingdom. The episode underscores that there is no neutral ground when it comes to faith; one is either for or against the kingdom of God. With a mix of humor and heartfelt reflections, David encourages listeners to embrace grace and the transformative power of prayer while addressing challenging societal issues.
The David Spoon Experience is a dynamic exploration of faith interwoven with humor and community interaction. As Spoon opens the show, he sets a light-hearted tone, inviting listeners to engage in a discussion about their favorite Pauline epistles. This segment encourages not just theological reflection but also personal connection, as Spoon's playful use of sound effects and humor creates an inviting atmosphere. The intention is clear: spirituality can be approached with levity, even while delving into profound topics of faith and life. Spoon’s charismatic hosting style fosters a sense of belonging among his audience, emphasizing that the show is a communal experience rather than a solitary one.
A key highlight of the episode is the heartfelt testimony shared by a listener, Roslyn, who recounts her experience of witnessing to an Uber driver named Amir during a challenging time in her family’s life. This narrative serves as a powerful reminder of how God orchestrates opportunities for evangelism, often in the most unexpected places. Spoon's enthusiasm and encouragement for Rosalind's efforts to share her faith illustrate the significance of personal testimony in the Christian journey. The dialogue shifts towards community involvement, with Spoon urging listeners to pray for Amir and others who may be searching for faith, reinforcing the idea that collective prayer can lead to transformative experiences.
The episode also tackles the challenging topic of abortion, where Spoon and Robert engage in a thoughtful discussion about the biblical stance on life. By referencing scripture, particularly Jeremiah 19, they explore the moral complexities involved and the importance of compassion in these discussions. Spoon emphasizes that understanding God’s view on life is critical in addressing societal issues, and he calls for a balance between strong convictions and empathy. The episode culminates in a prayer, encapsulating the themes of faith, community, and the call to actively participate in the kingdom of God, leaving listeners with a renewed sense of purpose and encouragement.

David Spoon:Here's what's coming up on today's experience.
David Spoon:It's Doctor Dave's devotional diamonds of the day, also known as DDD is where my daily devotions become some of our spiritual reflections.
David Spoon:Sound effects placed throughout the show which have nothing to do with life.
David Spoon:But the Bible teaches there's a time to laugh and by golly, our sound effects are funny.
David Spoon:The review of the goofy news which proves Jesus is coming back sooner than you think.
David Spoon:Just look outside and listen and you'll know.
David Spoon:Life lessons for our faith that we can actually use probably won't if we sit on our blessed assurance humor that will force you to think, why does this guy have a radio show?
David Spoon:Here you go.
David Spoon:Here's the big answer.
David Spoon:Three letters.
David Spoon:Cause also, Bible trivia for fake and yet somehow real cool prizes, your phone calls and more.
David Spoon:Welcome to the David Spoon experience.
David Spoon:Local, national and heavenly talk.
David Spoon:Doctor David Spoon and I'll be your host for the next 5,400,000 milliseconds.
David Spoon:Get ready for one of the more bizarre experiences on live radio.
David Spoon:Here is the key to the show.
David Spoon:We don't know what we're doing.
David Spoon:We have no idea what's going to happen, and we don't care.
David Spoon:But for the next few minutes, I want to talk hope with you.
David Spoon:So here we go.
David Spoon:We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.
David Spoon:That thing right there, pretty straightforward, easy question for you to answer.
David Spoon:Between Romans and Philemon, what is your favorite paulinian epistle between Romans and all the way to Philemon.
David Spoon:Okay, since Hebrews is not known for sure, most likely not paulinian.
David Spoon:So from Romans all the way to Philemon.
David Spoon:No, it's not Philemon.
David Spoon:Philemon all the way.
David Spoon:What is your favorite?
David Spoon:So you got Romans, you got first and second Corinthians, you got Galatians, you got Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, one Thessalonians, second Thessalonians, you got first Timothy, two Timothy, you got Titus, you got Philemon.
David Spoon:That's what you get to choose for.
David Spoon:What of those paulinian epistles are your favorite of those?
David Spoon:If you have an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a question, please don't let it die of loneliness.
David Spoon:Just reach out and give us a call.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Talking to Jammin Jacob is like talking to a person that you can count on.
David Spoon:Hello.
David Spoon:Thank you, David.
David Spoon:Happy Tuesday.
David Spoon:Happy Tuesday to you, my friend.
David Spoon:Thank you.
David Spoon:As Jacob has put himself on the line as we have begun the process of doing an audiobook for the faith that pleases God, starting today.
David Spoon:Good job.
David Spoon:Today, by the way.
David Spoon:Yes, we are on chapter three, correct?
David Spoon:Yeah, we're on chapter three.
David Spoon:And it's great because I only found 13 mistakes in the first reading and then I just looked ahead and found eight more that are right behind it.
David Spoon:Isn't that fun?
David Spoon:Yes, it is.
David Spoon:That's the greatest thing about being a Christian right there.
David Spoon:No matter what anybody tells me, I'm just going to say it real simple.
David Spoon:The greatest thing about being a Christian is if it depended on me, I'd be dust in the wind.
David Spoon:All we are is dust in the wind, right?
David Spoon:And by the way, Carrie Lifgren, who wrote that song dust in the wind, took that out of our life is but a vapor.
David Spoon:Ha.
David Spoon:How about that?
David Spoon:Anyway, my point being, I am so thankful for grace.
David Spoon:Without grace we could not stand, we could not last, just couldn't happen.
David Spoon:Anyway, I want to know from you what your favorite paulinian epistle is.
David Spoon:And so you have that opportunity to share with us.
David Spoon:Also, if you have something else, maybe you have an opinion, a comment, a thought or a question, anything like that, we do want you to give us a call.
David Spoon:That makes it really easy.
David Spoon:The number is easy.
David Spoon:We do not believe anybody will get a static shock from calling the number.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Terry Lifkin was the key player there.
David Spoon: -: David Spoon:Two, one, four.
David Spoon:Additionally, you can whaaat?
David Spoon:Send an email.
David Spoon:What?
David Spoon:David mustincrease.org that's David Dash.
David Spoon:Dash emustincrease.org.
David Spoon:so you can send a text, you can send an email, you can make a phone call.
David Spoon:And for what reasons might you do all those things?
David Spoon:Well, it might be a praise report.
David Spoon:Hallelujah.
David Spoon:We should be giving praise reports on a regular basis, knowing, recognizing, acknowledging the great things the Lord God has done for us.
David Spoon:I mean, just the kindness of God so exceeds us.
David Spoon:Maybe you've got a prayer request.
David Spoon:Why is that important?
David Spoon:Because prayer changes the world and faith used in prayer is how it happens.
David Spoon:So we want to be available for that and for opportunities.
David Spoon:Additionally, you can have something you just want to share.
David Spoon:Maybe you're just looking out there going, I see the landscape.
David Spoon:I see the times.
David Spoon:I understand the times we're in.
David Spoon:Just want to share with other brothers and sisters.
David Spoon:Don't be afraid.
David Spoon:God is in control.
David Spoon:Be a good thing, right?
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Now we do have somebody that does want to share something.
David Spoon:I have no idea what it is, and we don't mind because that's what we do.
David Spoon:Let's send them on through.
David Spoon:Knock, knock.
David Spoon:This is David.
David Spoon:Who am I talking to?
Rosalind and Robert:Hi, David.
Rosalind and Robert:This is Rosalind and Robert.
David Spoon:Hi, Rosalind and Robert.
David Spoon:How are you guys?
Rosalind and Robert:We're doing just fine, thank you very much.
Rosalind and Robert:How are you?
David Spoon:I'm doing great.
David Spoon:I'm doing great.
David Spoon:Thank you for asking.
David Spoon:I appreciate that.
David Spoon:What's happening?
Rosalind and Robert:Well, we wanted to share some stuff.
Rosalind and Robert:Robert has a comment, but I wanted to share something before I hand him the phone.
Rosalind and Robert:But he's here with me.
Rosalind and Robert:You can hear him jiggling.
Rosalind and Robert:So I wanted to share yesterday.
Rosalind and Robert:So thank you, everybody, for praying for my mom.
Rosalind and Robert:She's a vetter.
Rosalind and Robert:She was hospitalized last Tuesday, and she transferred yesterday to a rehab place.
Rosalind and Robert:And the transport was about 3 hours late.
Rosalind and Robert:And so I was ubering it to the rehab center.
Rosalind and Robert:And when I was in the car, I was listening to yesterday's show, and I heard one brother ace called in.
Rosalind and Robert:And I think everybody was kind of overwhelmed with that call yesterday.
Rosalind and Robert:And the Uber driver noticed and he said, you can change the radio station.
Rosalind and Robert:He thought it was whatever he was playing.
Rosalind and Robert:I said, no, it has nothing to do with that.
Rosalind and Robert:And I was telling him about the show and brother ace.
Rosalind and Robert:And so that sparked a two and a half hour conversation in the Uber car, telling him about Jesus.
Rosalind and Robert:And his name is Amir.
Rosalind and Robert:And he's saying that he knows some about Islam, he knows a little bit about Judaism, but he's just trying to find out more about Jesus.
Rosalind and Robert:And we were supposed to have gone on a vacation, leaving last Saturday, but with my mom, we decided to not go.
Rosalind and Robert:And before my mom even got sick, the Sunday before and Sunday school, I asked for prayer for safe travels.
Rosalind and Robert:And I asked also because I remember your story, David, about how you and Noel witnessed to somebody on your way to Texas.
Rosalind and Robert:And that thought was in my mind, and I just said, maybe God will open a door where Robert and I can share the gospel with someone on our trip and make it a missionary trip.
Rosalind and Robert:And so even though that didn't happen here on the way to go visit my mom, there was still a missionary trip.
Rosalind and Robert:And I thought, I wonder if the whole reason all this happened was just so I could be there to talk to this man, Amir.
Rosalind and Robert:And he let me pray with him and invited him to church on Sunday, so maybe he'll come on Sunday.
Rosalind and Robert:And that was just glad and amazing experience, how God orchestrates so many things potentially just for one moment in time.
Rosalind and Robert:And so I just.
Rosalind and Robert:I want to say, brother Ace, whether God answered his prayer yesterday or not, he is still making a huge impact, because that started this whole conversation.
Rosalind and Robert:And I was even able to tell the man about Sergio, who calls in and how he's been on this journey, because I gave him your card and I told him, you can call the radio show and ask questions.
Rosalind and Robert:And I was telling him about Sergio.
Rosalind and Robert:And it's just how this whole community, everybody plays a role, even though we may not think it, but I was able to use that in talking to this gentleman, Amir.
Rosalind and Robert:And so I just thought that was pretty amazing as well.
Rosalind and Robert:And I just wanted to share all of that and ask for prayer for Amir.
David Spoon:We're definitely gonna pray for Amir first.
David Spoon:We wanna give praise, though.
David Spoon:Give a clap offering for that.
David Spoon:What just took place there, because that, the fact that you got to witness, just think about that.
David Spoon:It's like, lord, we wanna be able to witness.
David Spoon:And the Lord goes, okay, and we wanna be able to witness on the trip.
David Spoon:And the Lord's like, well, no, I'm gonna have you witness.
David Spoon:I'm just gonna do it different.
David Spoon:And so it's just like how the Lord set it up for you, and you still got a chance.
David Spoon:And I mentioned you, like, last week, how the last time you got a chance to witness, you didn't have anything planned.
David Spoon:It was just like the Lord said, boom, here you go.
David Spoon:And then you just started sharing, right?
David Spoon:And then that's what comes out.
David Spoon:It's just like, that's when you're being available.
David Spoon:That's when you're being ready.
David Spoon:Even Eric just texted in saying, DNA, always be ready.
David Spoon:And it's like, that's the very thing we're talking about, because then the Lord used that.
David Spoon:We are definitely going to pray for Amir, and we are definitely thankful that Angelina is doing better.
David Spoon:And that that whole process brought about a moment, a divine appointment that nobody else in the universe could have scripted except for God.
David Spoon:And that's what's so awesome about it.
David Spoon:It's like, okay, I bet the Lord blesses you guys on your trip twice as much as you would have been blessed before, just because you put yourselves in the position to be used by the Lord.
David Spoon:And it's like, that's.
David Spoon:That's the key.
David Spoon:That's the key component.
David Spoon:So phenomenal job.
David Spoon:Phenomenal.
David Spoon:Phenomenal.
David Spoon:Phenomenal.
David Spoon:That's the word for the day.
David Spoon:Phenomenal.
David Spoon:If there's a duck that comes down and it makes us quack, and then you get, like, a $50 gift certificate.
David Spoon:Phenomenal is the word.
David Spoon:Okay.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Now I do want to hear from your hubby, because he's got something he wants to share, and I want to make sure that he gets a chance to share, too, because he's definitely a great thinker in the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:Talk to me, Robert.
David Spoon:What's happening, my brother?
Robert:Well, Rosslyn played for me a bit of your show.
Robert:Was it yesterday's show?
Robert:Yeah.
Robert:Where you were talking about voting the Bible?
David Spoon:Yes.
David Spoon:Correct.
Robert:And you were talking specifically about the abortion issue.
David Spoon:Correct.
Robert:And you were focusing in on verses that show that, you know, a baby in the womb is still a living human being.
David Spoon:Right.
Robert:And Rosslyn was offering this to me as something that I needed to play for one of my family members who is kind of hung up on that issue in all the wrong ways.
David Spoon:Gotcha.
David Spoon:I gotcha.
David Spoon:I totally understand.
Robert:And after I listened to it, Rosslyn was sitting there going, what do you think?
David Spoon:Huh?
Robert:And I said, well, he's being too nice.
Robert:And, yeah, Rosslyn laughed, too.
Robert:I mean, I was sitting there, and what was.
Robert:What continues to bother me about this issue.
Robert:It's not that people don't believe that it's a baby, but that they don't care.
David Spoon:Right?
David Spoon:No.
David Spoon:Right.
David Spoon:And that's a huge point.
David Spoon:Make that point.
David Spoon:That's a big point right there.
Robert:I mean, you can.
Robert:You can prove to them.
Robert:You can prove to them that it is, and they'll rationalize a way around it because, you know, and the verses, the verses of the Bible that continually come to me when I think about this issue is the first.
Robert:There's the one in James about it all begins with desire.
David Spoon:Right?
Robert:All sin begins is desire in the heart.
Robert:And it's like that.
Robert:They want this to be a certain way.
Robert:They want.
Robert:They want to be able to do this.
Robert:And why they want it is because the whole argument of my body, my choice, you can apply that argument to any sin.
Robert:Any sin is always you deciding your choice over what God wants you to do.
Robert:But when I think about this issue, the Bible verse that really jumps out at me the most is Jeremiah 19 four five.
Robert:And that's where God was talking about his people sacrificing their children to demons.
Robert:And in verse five, he says they've built pagan shrines to Baal, and they were burning their children on that shrine.
Robert:And the exact word that God says is, I have never commanded such a horrible deed, and it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing.
David Spoon:That's right.
Robert:That's really where my head goes when I think about that particular issue.
Robert:So when you were sayiNg, vote the Bible.
Robert:Vote, vote the bible, I was Thinking, yeah, you need to.
Robert:You need to throw that bit in there, too, because JEReMiah 19 is a really harsh, harsh chapter of the Bible.
Robert:And.
Robert:But I mean, it's a harsh issue.
Robert:It's really hard.
David Spoon:You said that.
Robert:She laughed at me at first when I said you were being too nice, but then after, after I told her why I thought you were being too nice, she's like, yeah, you need to go tell david that.
David Spoon:Yeah.
David Spoon:So here's what's brilliant about.
David Spoon:So you're talking about JeReMiah 19.
David Spoon:We're not even talking about JEReMiah one, which says, before you, before you were in the womb, I.
David Spoon:For before I knew you, while you were in the womb, before you were even formed.
David Spoon:So the Lord knows us at the very.
David Spoon:At the conception.
David Spoon:There's no question that biblically it's about conception, okay?
David Spoon:Because conception starts that.
David Spoon:That whole process.
David Spoon:And there's a couple of really important things you said, and I want to draw on them.
David Spoon:And I want to add something, because Aunt Deb brought up, you know, because I was a little fiery.
David Spoon:And it's funny because you're saying, not too far, not fiery enough.
David Spoon:She brought up a great point, that if you have done that, there is absolute mercy and forgiveness in Jesus Christ.
David Spoon:And there's some people that have done that and live in that guilt place.
David Spoon:And the place to come for relief is getting compassion from Jesus and getting forgiveness of your sins.
David Spoon:So that's important for people to recognize.
David Spoon:That's what the gospel's about.
David Spoon:Even murderers like the apostle Paul can find redemption at the same time.
David Spoon:You want to also key in on exactly what you said.
David Spoon:It's amazing how important science is unless it doesn't coincide with what the person wants.
David Spoon:So what they're saying is science is the answer.
David Spoon:And it's like, see?
David Spoon:And then you show them science from the things that they can show.
David Spoon:They've even showed a spark of light at concept perception in some of the imagery.
David Spoon:And they're like, well, no, no, that doesn't count.
David Spoon:And it's like, wait, it doesn't count when it's against your political position, but it counts when it's something you want to do.
David Spoon:And again, nobody is talking, and I want to make sure I said nobody's talking about somebody that has been raped, incest, or the actual life of the mother's endangered.
David Spoon:I'm not talking about that.
David Spoon:We could talk about that all day long, but that doesn't account for.
David Spoon:That only counts for 2%.
David Spoon:98% of abortions are recreational.
David Spoon:And it's like.
Robert:And when you.
David Spoon:The fact.
Robert:Yeah.
Robert:And you said you kept using the word selfish.
David Spoon:Yes.
David Spoon:Yes.
Robert:And I was.
Robert:I was saying to Ross, yeah, I think that's a little.
Robert:You're being too nice.
Robert:You're being gentle because, I mean, when you look at what.
Robert:What was.
Robert:What's happening, I would think the word satanic or the word demonic is probably a lot more.
Robert:A lot more true to what's happening than just selfish.
David Spoon:That's exactly.
David Spoon:Well, that's exactly true, because the Bible says not only is Satan the father of lies, but he's a murderer and has been a murderer from the beginning.
David Spoon:So people that get involved in murder, that.
David Spoon:And we're not talking about killing.
David Spoon:We're talking about murder.
David Spoon:They are attaching to Satan.
David Spoon:Again, for those that have and are looking for redemption, there is forgiveness.
David Spoon:There's no question.
David Spoon:The blood of Jesus is, well, way great.
David Spoon:He's a better savior than we're ever a sinner.
David Spoon:But to.
David Spoon:But to not understand the level of disgustingness that God feels about it, it's as though the people don't understand their blood.
David Spoon:The blood of innocent children are crying out.
David Spoon:And I love this country.
David Spoon:So there's no ifs, ands, or buts.
David Spoon:But this country has a lot to answer for in that realm.
David Spoon:It's great that we made a switch, but there was still a lot of damage done, and there's still even more damage being done where they're trying to do, you know, abortions outside of the womb after there's birth.
David Spoon:And it's like you're just sitting there going, there is no possible way that any rational person can think this is okay because they're just inconvenienced or.
David Spoon:You're right.
David Spoon:It's much more attached to a demonic, satanic type of offering, just like Jeremiah 19 refers to.
David Spoon:So in that sense, you're right.
David Spoon:So I give you mega props for bringing that up, because that's an important issue.
David Spoon:I also give ant Deb props for saying, hey, there's got.
David Spoon:There is a compassion aside, and we need to acknowledge that.
David Spoon:But what we're talking about is the truth of the matter that God is a God of life, and for people to murder to shed innocent blood, there is no greater abomination than to.
David Spoon:I mean, even Peter denied Jesus three times, but was restored three times.
David Spoon:And it's in that same scenario.
David Spoon:The bottom line is, shedding innocent blood to the Lord is so heinous that in Genesis, God forbids not just people from shedding blood from one another, but animals shedding blood.
David Spoon:And it's just like, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
David Spoon:Not okay.
David Spoon:Not okay.
David Spoon:Never.
David Spoon:And so, in that approach, you think, wow, that would surely change a lot of people's minds.
David Spoon:But then again, you're right.
David Spoon:Some people are demonically influenced, and they use.
David Spoon:Yeah.
David Spoon:And they use their self centeredness to sin, and it's just like, that's not okay.
David Spoon:That's just not a good thing.
David Spoon:So, excellent points, by the way, from.
David Spoon:From.
David Spoon:From what you're showing to.
David Spoon:But that's because you have a great mind.
David Spoon:I like the way you think, and I like the way that you kind of sustain.
David Spoon:It's really one of those cool things.
David Spoon:And we do want to pray for Amir and Angelina, and we want to pray for the both of you so that you can have a trip.
David Spoon:Yes.
Robert:Thank you.
David Spoon:Because that got kind of removed.
David Spoon:And that doesn't mean God forgot.
David Spoon:It just means we got to ask the Lord to set it up, set up an opportunity for you guys to have that trip.
David Spoon:That's the big key there.
David Spoon:So let me pray over all of you.
David Spoon:Can you guys hang on together while I pray over you?
Rosalind and Robert:Yes.
David Spoon:Okay, let's do it.
David Spoon:Father, we come before you right now, and I just want to thank you for Rosalind and Robert.
David Spoon:I do.
David Spoon:I thank you for their willingness to sacrifice.
David Spoon:To do it was the right thing.
David Spoon:In their call, they made the best call they can regarding Angelina.
David Spoon:And we thank you that Angelina is doing better.
David Spoon:We really do.
David Spoon:Lord, it's a blessing that she is doing better, but she's got better yet to go.
David Spoon:And so we're asking for that to be poured into her body and that by the power of the Holy Spirit, that she would have strengthening and healing and uplifting in her spirit, in her heart, in her mind, in her functionality.
David Spoon:And, Lord, at the same time, we want to pray for this gentleman.
David Spoon:Amir.
David Spoon:It's not us, Lord.
David Spoon:It's not us.
David Spoon:The power of the gospel is in your gospel, and we are asking you to draw Amir towards you, pull him in towards you.
David Spoon:He doesn't know, which is amazing.
David Spoon:He doesn't really even know what you are all about.
David Spoon:He doesn't know your love.
David Spoon:He doesn't know your compassion for him.
David Spoon:He doesn't know that you share with him and that you want him to know you.
David Spoon:Show Amir your heart.
David Spoon:Heart.
David Spoon:Let him find out what the truth is.
David Spoon:And let him learn to call upon the name of the Lord.
David Spoon:We pray for his salvation.
David Spoon:We pray for him to decide and say yes and surrender to you.
David Spoon:And, Lord, we ask you to bless Robert and Rosalind.
David Spoon:Because, Lord, regardless, they had some time planned.
David Spoon:You know, come you apart and rest awhile.
David Spoon:It's important to get that refreshment.
David Spoon:That's why we have the Sabbath.
David Spoon:That's why there's times we just need to take a break.
David Spoon:And, Lord, we're asking you to open an opportunity, a door not suspected, not even anticipated, that they could in fact, enjoy time together away on some family gathering for them, for their benefit, for their strengthening, for their refreshment.
David Spoon:And that from that they would know that, Lord, you are so closely with them that these things matter to you, too.
David Spoon:We ask you to bless them in that.
David Spoon:Bless them as a family and all for their prayers and for their commitments and their love.
David Spoon:Reward them with your graciousness and with more of you.
David Spoon:That's what we pray.
David Spoon:We pray that in the incredible name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior, amen.
David Spoon:And amen.
Rosalind and Robert:Amen.
Rosalind and Robert:Thank you, David.
David Spoon:You guys are welcome.
David Spoon:We love you guys.
David Spoon:You guys did a great job.
David Spoon:And thank you both for sharing.
Rosalind and Robert:We're glad we were able to call in together.
David Spoon:Yay.
David Spoon:That's good.
David Spoon:That was really good.
David Spoon:It was a good discussion.
David Spoon:So I really appreciate it.
Rosalind and Robert:Okay.
Rosalind and Robert:Thank you, David.
Rosalind and Robert:Bye, everybody.
David Spoon:Bye bye.
David Spoon:Bye, you guys.
David Spoon:All right, so now people who are listening to the show are going, no way.
David Spoon:Wait, wait, wait, wait.
David Spoon:This show's got teaching.
David Spoon:It's got prayers, got trivia.
David Spoon:It's got jokes.
David Spoon:That's right.
David Spoon:I've got jokes.
David Spoon:Don't you think about it for a second.
David Spoon:Here's the bottom line.
David Spoon:The bottom line is this.
David Spoon:There's a great truth in what Robert said about sin being so connected to Satan.
David Spoon:It's not even funny.
David Spoon:It's sad, actually, because when Jesus was making reference to Satan, he said that the prince of the heirs coming, he has nothing in me, which means he had no access point.
David Spoon:He had no place to jump in.
David Spoon:But people whose lives are filled with sin have access and opening points for Satan to take advantage.
David Spoon:What we want to do is share.
David Spoon:Just share that there is this freedom, this grace, this mercy that is undeserved.
David Spoon:Obviously, it's grace.
David Spoon:And available.
David Spoon:And nobody who's listening to my voice needs to worry about getting a tent and a microphone and a band behind you and people passing offering plates and, you know, having all these different little hooks and these little things.
David Spoon:Never think of that.
David Spoon:What you want to do as a person who's presenting yourself is just tell the Lord, here I am.
David Spoon:It is promised in scripture.
David Spoon:Luke, chapter twelve, verse twelve.
David Spoon:At that time, the Holy Spirit will tell you what to say.
David Spoon:You don't have to pre plan anything.
David Spoon:You have to just be available and the Lord will use you.
David Spoon:No, I want to make this point.
David Spoon:Does it always turn out fantastical?
David Spoon:No, but that's not what the Lord is looking for from his kids.
David Spoon:The Lord is looking for the here I am.
David Spoon:Use me.
David Spoon:Not everything you do in the kingdom is going to be super.
David Spoon:I get gold bars for this.
David Spoon:I get stripes.
David Spoon:That's not how it works.
David Spoon:But what the Lord wants to do is he wants to do it with us.
David Spoon:You have to understand, and I'll just say this because we're not going to get anything else, but God knows what.
David Spoon:You're going to pray before you pray it.
David Spoon:Yes.
David Spoon:He's omniscient, so, yes.
David Spoon:Then why does he want us to pray?
David Spoon:Because he wants us to spend time with him, that's why.
David Spoon:That's how much love he has for us.
David Spoon:Yeah, I know.
David Spoon:But hang out with me.
David Spoon:You're my kids.
David Spoon:Get that.
David Spoon:That's kind of cool.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:Yeah, that's cool.
David Spoon:All right.
David Spoon:We'll take our break and then come back.
David Spoon:You're listening to the David Spoon experience right here on Kam 770, the truth station here in Texas.
David Spoon:Short break.
David Spoon:We'll be back.
David Spoon:Don't go anywhere.
David Spoon:What is the David Spoon experience?
David Spoon:So what Jesus said, whoever is not against you is for you.
David Spoon:That's what he's talking about.
David Spoon:They're a kingdom advancer.
David Spoon:It's all good.
David Spoon:Now watch this.
David Spoon:In Luke, chapter eleven, verse 20 through 23, if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
David Spoon:When a strong man, fully armed, guards his estate, his possessions are secure.
David Spoon:But when one stronger than he attacks and overpowers, he takes from him all his weapons, the armor and the weapons of the foot soldier that he trusted in, and he divides up his plunder, anyone who is not with me is against me.
David Spoon:And anyone does not gather with me, scatters.
David Spoon:And you're thinking, but what about the others?
David Spoon:Watch.
David Spoon:Keeping it in context.
David Spoon:This person is not for the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:This person is neutral.
David Spoon:Not a kingdom advancer.
David Spoon:Not a person that's trying to advance the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:And when you are not a kingdom advancer, then you are supporting the other kingdoms.
David Spoon:You are either in for, with, through, and by the kingdom of God or all the other kingdoms.
David Spoon:There is no neutral.
David Spoon:There is no, well, I'm going to.
David Spoon:I'm going to sit this one out.
David Spoon:There is no sitting it out with goddess.
David Spoon:You're either helping advance his kingdom or helping another kingdom advance one of the two.
David Spoon:So the guy that was casting out evil spirits in the name of Jesus Christ, he's advancing the kingdom of God, but the person who's not for Jesus is trying to be neutral and do nothing.
David Spoon:That person's not advancing the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:And that person who's not advancing the kingdom of God is therefore against the kingdom of God because there is no neutral.
David Spoon:And you're thinking, well, no, no, there's got to be a neutral.
David Spoon:Never heard the joke about the mugwump, huh?
David Spoon:Never heard about the soldier that, you know, he was confederate soldier and then union soldier, had gray on the top and dark blue on the bottom.
David Spoon:What'd they do, shoot at them from both sides?
David Spoon:That's what they did.
David Spoon:In other words, there is none of that.
David Spoon:That doesn't exist.
David Spoon:You're either with Jesus in the advancement of his kingdom, or you're nothing.
David Spoon:And if you're not, then he considers that against.
David Spoon:And you think, well, whoa, that is just rude.
David Spoon:Tell it to Jesus.
David Spoon:Tell him he's rude.
David Spoon:Go ahead.
David Spoon:Jesus said, seek first the kingdom of God, not, hey, you know, in your life, you got all these things going on, you got to take care of work, you got to do this, you got to do this.
David Spoon:You got to pay this bill and do this and raise your kids, and somewhere in there, do me a favor, and every once in a while, kick it around and think about me and the kingdom that doesn't exist.
David Spoon:That's not a reality check.
David Spoon:The reality check is that you are either for the kingdom of God or opposed to the kingdom of God.
David Spoon:And if you try to be neutral, you're opposed.
David Spoon:The David spoon experience.
