Transcripts

TREY GERRALD:

I'm fighting the urge to make a thrusting sound.

TREY GERRALD:

Queens, it is time to Review, Review That Review, episode 106.

TREY GERRALD:

This is maybe one of the most recent that you've heard so far on our review, and there is a very strong reason why.

TREY GERRALD:

This episode did originally air on June 14th of 2023.

TREY GERRALD:

Chelsey went down a total rabbit hole.

TREY GERRALD:

I like to think of those little Russian dolls where you like take one off and there's another one and then you take that one off and there's another one and there's another one.

TREY GERRALD:

It's like peeling back an onion.

TREY GERRALD:

This episode is so whack.

TREY GERRALD:

It's like, it just, it's a, it's a soap opera in itself.

TREY GERRALD:

So obviously it requires another listening.

TREY GERRALD:

I hope that you enjoy, if you didn't catch it the first time around, here it is, please make sure you leave a 5 star rating and review on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, whatever it is that you are listening to this voice on right now, pump us up, pump, pump the jam, pump it up,

TREY GERRALD:

Review!

TREY GERRALD:

Hello

TREY GERRALD:

Hey!

TREY GERRALD:

Welcome once again to Review That Review.

TREY GERRALD:

We are the podcast that is dedicated to reviewing Reviews!

TREY GERRALD:

That lovely voice is Trey Gerald.

TREY GERRALD:

And that lovely voice was Chelsey Donn.

TREY GERRALD:

But when we come together, you know that we are

CHELSEY DONN:

The

VOICEOVER:

Review Queens.

CHELSEY DONN:

But first, Trey, it is your week.

CHELSEY DONN:

I know you've had a whole week.

CHELSEY DONN:

Would you like to Lodge a complaint.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes, I would.

TREY GERRALD:

I fell victim.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, no.

TREY GERRALD:

Several weeks ago, maybe even a month at this point.

TREY GERRALD:

I did Instagram about it.

TREY GERRALD:

So you may have seen but I was, I was working out at the gym.

TREY GERRALD:

And I kept noticing this girl was live streaming her workout at the gym.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

Are you out of your motherfucking mind?

TREY GERRALD:

Have we succumb that horribly as a culture?

TREY GERRALD:

Are you fucking kidding?

TREY GERRALD:

Let me just put into perspective here.

TREY GERRALD:

This was a gorgeous, beautiful woman, very physically fit.

CHELSEY DONN:

Sure.

TREY GERRALD:

She did not break a bead of sweat.

TREY GERRALD:

And I'm in the background, like, dying of sweat.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I am a sweater, so I'm sweating, but like, disgusting.

CHELSEY DONN:

Were you in the footage?

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes!

TREY GERRALD:

But let me just paint the picture.

TREY GERRALD:

This is a gym, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

She has a little mini tripod that her phone is attached to and she goes and she'll do three reps on like the quad machine.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah,

TREY GERRALD:

and she's like looking over and like smiling and batting her like false eyelashes, right?

TREY GERRALD:

She has like

CHELSEY DONN:

gross giant

TREY GERRALD:

makeup on like I do drag makeup.

TREY GERRALD:

I know when someone's face is beat.

TREY GERRALD:

You were at the gym, ma'am.

TREY GERRALD:

And then she would do her three little reps.

TREY GERRALD:

And go bend her little ass over, face to face with the camera, Hi CasperGirl17, I love you Gina Jason 765, throw me some hearts, fans, and then she would like, have on full conversations, Live streaming at the gym.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, you did not volunteer to be a background actor.

TREY GERRALD:

No, honey child, I pay my annual dues because I'm a principal performer on camera.

TREY GERRALD:

I do not work in the background unless you're gonna pay me, Okay,

TREY GERRALD:

honey child, I could not believe it.

TREY GERRALD:

My God, that's terrible.

TREY GERRALD:

Who live streams their workout?

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, it's bad enough when people are like recording their workouts.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

CHELSEY DONN:

Anything more than that?

CHELSEY DONN:

I

TREY GERRALD:

mean, it is annoying to me when people are recording themselves, but I also get that's accountability for people.

TREY GERRALD:

And sometimes people document their journey.

TREY GERRALD:

So sure.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay.

TREY GERRALD:

But the audacity to live stream while you're at the gym.

TREY GERRALD:

It is like the most narcissistic, like, I, I, I'm like baffled.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm at a loss for words that you are that self absorbed to engage in the narcissistic practice of saying hello to your virtual fans.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, it's like,

CHELSEY DONN:

so you didn't rent out the gym.

CHELSEY DONN:

As your film studio.

TREY GERRALD:

But on top of all of that, it was so weird to me that this girl was not really working out.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, right.

TREY GERRALD:

It was all like feigning the work.

TREY GERRALD:

But obviously, she was someone who does work out.

TREY GERRALD:

But sure, she was not sweating.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, she probably like films that like does like whatever she needs to do.

CHELSEY DONN:

And then actually goes and like works out.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes.

CHELSEY DONN:

Because how could you work out and do that?

CHELSEY DONN:

You couldn't.

CHELSEY DONN:

You You couldn't!

CHELSEY DONN:

You couldn't!

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, you can't be anaerobic and being like, Hi, Stacey125.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I just, I couldn't get over the calling out of the names of the people.

TREY GERRALD:

So obnoxious.

TREY GERRALD:

Like

CHELSEY DONN:

beyond obnoxious.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm sorry you had to deal with that, Trey.

TREY GERRALD:

That's my complaint.

TREY GERRALD:

Just, you know, if you are ever someone that live streams the workouts, just pause for a second.

TREY GERRALD:

And just zoom out.

TREY GERRALD:

Look at what we're doing on this planet.

TREY GERRALD:

That's my complaint.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, well, I'm glad I was able to release that.

TREY GERRALD:

And now you've had to take it on.

TREY GERRALD:

So that feels better in my mind.

CHELSEY DONN:

You know what?

CHELSEY DONN:

It's my pleasure to take away some of that.

TREY GERRALD:

Thank you.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, Chelsea.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

Are you ready to share with me the review you brought in for this week?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

I am.

CHELSEY DONN:

Should we jump in?

CHELSEY DONN:

Let's do it!

CHELSEY DONN:

Review That Review.

CHELSEY DONN:

As you know, we are your trusty review queens.

CHELSEY DONN:

We bring in reviews from the internet that we feel need to be inspected.

TREY GERRALD:

We read you that review, then we break it down together and rate the impact of the review on a scale from zero to five crowns.

TREY GERRALD:

It's a very regal process that Chelsey and I call Assess That Kevich!

TREY GERRALD:

So share with us, Chelsey, what is today's review?

CHELSEY DONN:

All right, every once in a while, you know, I hop all over the internet trying to find interesting reviews for Trey and I to talk about.

CHELSEY DONN:

And so I did happen upon a Reddit feed of Zero Star Reviews.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I started just sort of reading through some reviews and I found one.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm gonna, I'm gonna do a little more research and I'm gonna, I'm gonna find that review.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's all I'm gonna really say for now in terms of the finding of it.

CHELSEY DONN:

And then I'll take you to where I came, which is when I found the actual venue that this review was from.

CHELSEY DONN:

It is called Thruster's Lounge in San Diego, California.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is a Yelp one star review.

CHELSEY DONN:

Written by Jeff Oh.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

This bar fills top shelf bottles with cheap alcohol.

CHELSEY DONN:

I ordered a Casamigos Neat and was served a cheap tequila from the Casamigos bottle.

CHELSEY DONN:

The bartender was a total dick when I told him that it was not what I ordered.

CHELSEY DONN:

Whack.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's all we're going to hear from Jeff Oh.

TREY GERRALD:

Alright, I have a lot of thoughts here, because you know, in my life, I've been a bartender before.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

It has never occurred to me to replace bottles.

TREY GERRALD:

That is so smart.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, but wait.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, my

CHELSEY DONN:

God.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I love that you just said that.

TREY GERRALD:

You know what's there for me about this?

TREY GERRALD:

So are you

CHELSEY DONN:

saying that you believe Jeff?

TREY GERRALD:

I don't believe Jeff.

TREY GERRALD:

I think Jeff would need to supply a lot more supporting evidence than the fact that they can taste the difference from a Casamigos Neat.

TREY GERRALD:

So if you got this tequila served to you neat, that's going to be two ounces.

TREY GERRALD:

That is the proper legal serving of a neat.

TREY GERRALD:

So that's two ounces of tequila.

TREY GERRALD:

There's

CHELSEY DONN:

nothing else.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's just straight tequila.

CHELSEY DONN:

Two ounces, like a big shot, kind of.

TREY GERRALD:

And I guess, yes, you can taste the sort of difference.

TREY GERRALD:

But like, it's just such a bold, claim to make.

TREY GERRALD:

And then Jeff also says that the bartender's a dick.

TREY GERRALD:

So it's sort of, cause I would imagine it's probably not the bartender that would be replacing the bottles with the more least expensive.

TREY GERRALD:

Like I would imagine that that would be like the company because who's actually profiting.

TREY GERRALD:

It's not going to be the bartender,

CHELSEY DONN:

right?

TREY GERRALD:

It's going to be whoever is ordering the bottles, which would, I would imagine would be a manager.

CHELSEY DONN:

I guess so, but they're saying that the bartender was a dick when they told them that this is not what they ordered.

CHELSEY DONN:

Wack.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I don't know if they're saying that, like, the bartender is necessarily the one that pulled this charade, but they're saying that they approached the bartender about it.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm assuming, meaning that the bartender was like, No, it's not go away.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, right.

TREY GERRALD:

That sounds like two separate complaints, right?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, it

CHELSEY DONN:

is.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think I think that the first complaint is that we didn't think the drink was right in the second complaint, which is really a complaint for the establishment, right?

TREY GERRALD:

Right.

TREY GERRALD:

Because what do you think the bar like?

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I guess you would hope that the bartender would be like, Oh, Oh, okay.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, let me, let me pour you another one like that.

TREY GERRALD:

No bartender is going to react that way.

TREY GERRALD:

They're going to be like, what do you mean?

TREY GERRALD:

I literally just poured it.

TREY GERRALD:

You think it's cheap?

TREY GERRALD:

Like they're going to be like, I

CHELSEY DONN:

think that that's the hard thing to decipher here because it's like, if we're to imagine that maybe Jeff got it wrong and it is really Casamigos, then what is the bartender supposed to do at that point?

CHELSEY DONN:

And I guess even if Jeff was right, You, like, you've been a bartender before.

CHELSEY DONN:

You're not filling the bottles.

CHELSEY DONN:

The bottles are there when you get there.

CHELSEY DONN:

You do, you might be doing inventory to say, like, how much is left of a bottle when you start.

CHELSEY DONN:

I remember that from Mary Poppins.

CHELSEY DONN:

But like, other than you sort of doing your general accounting of where you are in the beginning of your shift versus where you are in the end of your shift, you're not the one who's actually getting those bottles.

CHELSEY DONN:

So like, the bartender must think that this is Casamigos.

CHELSEY DONN:

Of course, they're gonna react, like, what do you want me to do about it?

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, it does kind of seem like a money grab in a way, like, you're trying, are you trying to get a refund?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, what are you trying to do?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, it's like such an act, like, it's like an expose, right?

TREY GERRALD:

Like, if Jeff was to really prove this point, they would need hidden cameras, they would need an extended amount of time to show that it's the same bottle with the same dust on the side, that, like, it's.

TREY GERRALD:

Continuously getting bigger.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, like, it's just like, it's such a wild accusation or

CHELSEY DONN:

even though it's obnoxious and we do kind of like hate it when reviewers go there.

CHELSEY DONN:

But even if they were like, I'm a tequila expert, I've was a trained bartender and I know the difference between every tequila from the second I taste it, you know, just.

CHELSEY DONN:

Build yourself up in credibility a little bit because you're not giving us any credibility.

CHELSEY DONN:

You just had to kill a knee and you're automatically going with the assumption that they switched it.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know why I'm not really trusting a hundred percent what Jeff is saying, but, well, you

TREY GERRALD:

just said it.

TREY GERRALD:

There's no supporting evidence here.

TREY GERRALD:

There's no doubt.

TREY GERRALD:

I guess there's no

CHELSEY DONN:

supporting evidence.

CHELSEY DONN:

But then at the same time, I'm like, well, what if they're right?

TREY GERRALD:

Then give us more information.

TREY GERRALD:

Help us know that you're right.

TREY GERRALD:

Otherwise, you're just saying the word whack.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's true.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, that's not valuable to me.

TREY GERRALD:

I can't tell if you're being truthful or shady.

TREY GERRALD:

It sounds to me like you're being shady because you're saying they're lying to you.

TREY GERRALD:

The bartender's a dick, which is like a secondary complaint, has nothing to do with this wild accusation you're claiming.

TREY GERRALD:

And then you say, whack.

TREY GERRALD:

Now I'm like, how many have you drunk before you realized that this Costa Migos neat is fake?

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I'm just sort of like, really not questioning this.

TREY GERRALD:

And I've never even considered it.

TREY GERRALD:

So I don't think this is typical.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, I was going to say, I don't think I would hope that this isn't something that's typical.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's not something that I've ever really heard of.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I'm sure maybe it exists.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't go to bars that much, but, and we're not really giving that much information about the bar.

CHELSEY DONN:

At the same time, I understand it's a review and your review seems to be this accusation, but I'm not really getting.

CHELSEY DONN:

Any information about like the ambiance or any of the other factors of this location as like a review reader?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

There's nothing about thrusters at all.

CHELSEY DONN:

Right?

TREY GERRALD:

It's just an accusation

CHELSEY DONN:

and it's also called thrusters, which makes me feel like this is not high brow.

TREY GERRALD:

No, it, it makes me think, I thought it was gonna be like about with strippers or something.

CHELSEY DONN:

Same.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, like it's it just seems like it's it's like fratty or something like that.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I think that a lot of people that are going to go to a bar called Thrusters aren't going to be so concerned with the Casamigos.

TREY GERRALD:

To me, I feel like they're probably going to be getting beer.

CHELSEY DONN:

Exactly.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, I feel like this is like a beer bar.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I don't think that this is a deal breaker.

CHELSEY DONN:

You know, nah.

CHELSEY DONN:

In any way.

TREY GERRALD:

I think I can crown this.

CHELSEY DONN:

I can crown.

CHELSEY DONN:

I can crown Jeff

TREY GERRALD:

O.

TREY GERRALD:

Let's do it.

TREY GERRALD:

So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards.

TREY GERRALD:

In an effort to be fair and not influenced by one another, we will simultaneously reveal our rating.

TREY GERRALD:

Here we

VOICEOVER:

go.

VOICEOVER:

The queens are tabulating.

VOICEOVER:

Time for school.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, I'm holding up one crown, Trey is holding up a half crown, you go first.

CHELSEY DONN:

Why a half crown for Jeff O?

TREY GERRALD:

I'm entertained by the prospect of a bar that would go to length, these lengths, to do such a preposterous thing when literally your job is to sell alcohol.

VOICEOVER:

It's

TREY GERRALD:

literally never occurred to me as a possible practice in the 37 years I've been alive.

TREY GERRALD:

So I'm entertained.

TREY GERRALD:

But it We just said it over and over.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, Jeff needs more supporting evidence.

TREY GERRALD:

There needs to be more details.

TREY GERRALD:

There needs to, as you said, a little bit of credibility on their side.

TREY GERRALD:

Also, like, what?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

What?

TREY GERRALD:

Casamigos?

TREY GERRALD:

Like, get real.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

If you're, well, whatever.

TREY GERRALD:

I have a lot of opinions, but I don't find this useful.

TREY GERRALD:

There would be no impact, except for I would maybe thrusters as, are they being shady?

TREY GERRALD:

Sure.

TREY GERRALD:

Chelsey, why did you say a whole half extra?

TREY GERRALD:

Why did you say one?

CHELSEY DONN:

I said one because I do think maybe after reading this, regardless of whether or not I believe or I don't believe, I might be more likely to get like a beer or a wine or, you know, something else from this bar.

CHELSEY DONN:

I do think that is there.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like if there is some shadiness going on, maybe I don't want to go top shelf.

CHELSEY DONN:

I really think that that's the only information here.

CHELSEY DONN:

And that's why I gave a crown.

CHELSEY DONN:

I did think it was like, I don't know, somewhat entertaining, but.

CHELSEY DONN:

Just one crown, just one crown's worth of entertainment for Jeffo.

VOICEOVER:

There's a reply!

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, so this reply is written by Vinny C.

CHELSEY DONN:

I forgot just at the top, and I'm going to quickly just like read this.

CHELSEY DONN:

There's a, you know how it says like from the business and it talks about it?

CHELSEY DONN:

It says Meet the business owner, Vincenzo N.

CHELSEY DONN:

Nicholson.

CHELSEY DONN:

The bar is owned by two members of the award winning high school 90s air band, Downy Fresh, so it's like who we're dealing with.

CHELSEY DONN:

All right, they have a

TREY GERRALD:

song called Thruster or something.

CHELSEY DONN:

I guess maybe I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is written by Vinny C., Vincenzo N.

CHELSEY DONN:

Nicholson, but the response is Vinny C.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, here we go.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is not a direct response to Jeff, rather a fictitious response to a make believe person named FLEF.

TREY GERRALD:

First

CHELSEY DONN:

off, FLEF, you're a giant lying piñata full of barf and turds.

CHELSEY DONN:

FLEF loves whacking the hell out of himself so he can pour his barf and lying turd garbage all over the readers of Yelp Land.

CHELSEY DONN:

FLEF, we do not do what you accuse the bartender of doing, We are not going to compromise our alcoholic ethics for an extra, what, 12 on the back end?

CHELSEY DONN:

Fact is, FLEF, you got a Casamigos.

CHELSEY DONN:

The dick bartender was whack because t'was you who was the whack dick fleff, You were being a huge barfy poop whack dick who was yelling a dumb line.

CHELSEY DONN:

Stop yelping.

CHELSEY DONN:

Just put down your piñata stick fingers and go yelp the mirror, because as of now, that mirror is giving FLEF one measly little complaining self entitled star, but it's not too late to be better.

CHELSEY DONN:

Maybe it wasn't the tequila inside the Casamigos that was fraudulent, rather the contents inside the FLEF that needed some upgrading.

CHELSEY DONN:

FLEF, it's not true what plumbers say, We literally don't need turd people, So good luck out there, suck less, And take that, farty, Jeff O., thank you for letting me use your comment section to write this make believe response to nobody that actually exists.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yelp took down my original response because it went viral, but they said I personally attacked Jeff, yet Jeff calling my bartender a dick and lying about our tequila is totally cool with Yelp.

CHELSEY DONN:

TREY GERRALD: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

CHELSEY DONN:

Mm hmm.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, that final little asterisk conclusion What?

TREY GERRALD:

Totally changed my mind.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

Because the whole fleff thing, the more you said the word fleff, it got funnier to me.

TREY GERRALD:

Right.

TREY GERRALD:

But the whole turd, poop, piñata, fart, poop, like, I was like, this is a little like trying too hard to be funny.

TREY GERRALD:

So then when I, I'm garnering here that, I guess, It was originally a reply to Jeff.

TREY GERRALD:

So in order to skirt around it, that's why they went in hard with that stuff.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, all right.

TREY GERRALD:

So it did sort of, I, my major complaint was like, they take the comedy route so hardcore that they don't, they spend so little time saying, This accusation is so absurd for what?

TREY GERRALD:

A 12 like bonus in our back?

TREY GERRALD:

Like that's so stupid.

TREY GERRALD:

What are you talking about?

TREY GERRALD:

I wish there was more as Vinny points out about the alcoholic ethics.

TREY GERRALD:

Like that's an interesting phrase.

TREY GERRALD:

I want to hear more.

TREY GERRALD:

Right about what that means.

TREY GERRALD:

But I don't know what's there for you.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think Vinny C is like a super frat boy.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think that like he fits within the mold of what I imagined when I heard of a bar named thrusters and the type of guy that would own this kind of bar.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think normally I would say like, it's kind of annoying.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's interesting.

CHELSEY DONN:

Usually the reason why I brought this in was because usually we see These kind of creativity tactics in the review.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is the first time that I've ever seen a reply to the review.

CHELSEY DONN:

That was way more interesting, colorful, divisive, whatever you want to call it.

CHELSEY DONN:

Then the review itself, usually the response is very, Vanilla, you know, so sorry you had a bad experience

TREY GERRALD:

being buttoned up and trying to be a little professional.

TREY GERRALD:

That

CHELSEY DONN:

is not Vinny C.

CHELSEY DONN:

And there's a part of me that wants to ding him for that.

CHELSEY DONN:

And then there's another part of me that wants to say.

VOICEOVER:

Maybe this is Vinny

CHELSEY DONN:

C being Vinny C and this is thrusters and if you're gonna read this reply and you're gonna have your panties in a kerfuffle then you probably shouldn't come.

CHELSEY DONN:

I feel like the like vibe of this is that if you come out with some like BS you're gonna get roasted.

TREY GERRALD:

Which I think is fair and I also do appreciate that the response was to defend their employee.

TREY GERRALD:

Right.

TREY GERRALD:

If the accusation is so false, that then it's sort of like, maybe you're the dick, right?

TREY GERRALD:

Not my employee, like, get real.

TREY GERRALD:

And then I think the real win here for me in this reply is at the very end, when Vincenzo points out, Let's consider how someone is able to defame my business.

TREY GERRALD:

And that's okay by Yelp standards, right?

TREY GERRALD:

But if I roast the person that is inappropriate, why is that double standard there?

TREY GERRALD:

And maybe you could argue because it's a business rather than a person.

TREY GERRALD:

But if you are Putting this up, isn't it fair for a rebuttal?

TREY GERRALD:

And if it is a bar called Thrusters, I don't think they need to have the HR PR team of Chick fil A,

CHELSEY DONN:

Right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Certainly not.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't think any of us need that HR.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, I mean, I think so.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think it's hard because I do wonder what the vetting process is on Yelp.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, how are things dinged?

CHELSEY DONN:

You know, as well, he said it went viral.

CHELSEY DONN:

I guess it did go viral.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's why

TREY GERRALD:

So then it probably became a culture war where people were staunch on either two sides, Either this is appropriate, inappropriate.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

Are you a Vinny C or are you a Jeff O?

TREY GERRALD:

But the Yelp comment is like, okay, so if Jeff has the free speech to leave this review, then shouldn't Vincenzo have the free speech to respond without having to say Fliff?

CHELSEY DONN:

Right.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think it's interesting.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm trying to think of what I think of Vinny as a manager.

CHELSEY DONN:

Do you think that Vinny is like a nice guy to the people that are working for him?

CHELSEY DONN:

And he's just coming to the defense so hard.

CHELSEY DONN:

against Jeff O in this circumstance or we think Vinny C might be a little bit of a jerk like a little bit like you don't want to cross Vinny C and or you'll get like attacked because again just playing devil's advocate here Jeff O's review was like pretty short right like we called the bartender a dick and we said we made a review A claim, and we said that it was whack, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

That's really all we said.

CHELSEY DONN:

Vinny C came really out swinging hard.

TREY GERRALD:

And maybe if it wasn't Fleff, I would be like, whoa, this is a little unbalanced.

TREY GERRALD:

That's a good point, Chelsey.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, because it's like, you know, we've had People that have responded in quote unquote colorful ways before and still managed to take the high road, which we really respect, like you can really knock someone down a peg and make them seem irrelevant while at the same time making yourself sound great and also not punching down so much.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I do think Vinny is skirting that line.

CHELSEY DONN:

I do think it's more acceptable in this setting, but I do wonder You know, I don't want to, I don't know that I want to paint Vinny C as an angel here.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think Vinny C might have a bit of a temper.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, I think that, like, the point of the reply is having an impact shift from the original post.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I think

TREY GERRALD:

for me, I wasn't buying Jeff to begin with.

CHELSEY DONN:

You weren't, right.

TREY GERRALD:

And I think that seeing this is thrusters like I have a visual of like the neon sign that's out front.

TREY GERRALD:

They're probably a humping,

CHELSEY DONN:

like neon with the legs moving or whatever.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's

TREY GERRALD:

like the mud flap girl.

TREY GERRALD:

Like I'm sure their major seller is like Bud Light.

TREY GERRALD:

Like I have a visual.

TREY GERRALD:

So To me, I think the impact is sort of like, okay, he's like, got a sense of humor about it.

TREY GERRALD:

I also do appreciate the one sentiment of reality of like, what, what would be the benefit of us doing this?

TREY GERRALD:

Like, right.

TREY GERRALD:

But I do also hear your point.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I do think maybe Maybe Vinny went a little too far, but not in any way.

TREY GERRALD:

It's like thrusters.

TREY GERRALD:

But

CHELSEY DONN:

then also like Vinny said, and I have to say yes, like this did go viral, whatever I found it in that forum, but there's 385 funny votes and 43 cool votes and 42 useful votes on this reply and It does seem like Vinny's being honest about saying, like, thanks for giving me the opportunity to, like, write this, like, you know, crazy review, right?

TREY GERRALD:

I think I can crown

CHELSEY DONN:

Vinny.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, I think I can crown Vinny, too.

VOICEOVER:

The queens are tabulating.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, interesting.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is always so funny to me.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm holding up four crowns.

CHELSEY DONN:

Trey is holding up three and a half.

CHELSEY DONN:

Trey, you go first.

CHELSEY DONN:

Why three and a half crowns for Vinny C?

TREY GERRALD:

I think you've persuaded me a little bit here.

TREY GERRALD:

I do think like, I put Middle of the Road only just because I feel like I do find the response appropriate to what I'm imagining a bar that calls itself Thrusters to be.

TREY GERRALD:

It's like, we're here to have fun.

TREY GERRALD:

We're here to like relax and like drink and like, you know, do whatever.

TREY GERRALD:

So like, to me, I'm not that offended.

TREY GERRALD:

And I think the impact of the reply is sort of like, Yeah, the accusation is insane, which I felt to begin with.

TREY GERRALD:

And it does make me think like, well, maybe I'll go.

TREY GERRALD:

And if I see Vincenzo, like, I feel like he's probably going to be like, Oh, hey, you know, you might call me a faggot, but that's secondary.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I just, I think it's like, it's not that serious.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, We're like, we're serving alcohol and we're not gonna like, I don't know, neither here nor there.

TREY GERRALD:

It's opinion, I think, like, is, should you be more professional?

TREY GERRALD:

Should you not?

TREY GERRALD:

I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

I think it's entertaining.

TREY GERRALD:

I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

I think I would still go there just to take a picture in front of the thruster sign.

TREY GERRALD:

Why did you say four?

CHELSEY DONN:

I was also influenced by you, but I said four, because I think It's a funny review.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's super unique.

CHELSEY DONN:

I've never seen a reply like this where we're sort of like, it's almost like if you're doing, um, like a roast battle with somebody and then it's like, okay, you know, Vinny just mic dropped, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like you came at them thinking that your whack and your whatever was going to really land and Vinny C was like, I'm going to flip it and reverse it and really send it back into your face.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I think that that's interesting.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think some of the fears that I had about this not being professional are excusable within the setting.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I think that most people are not going to react to this necessarily being like, what an asshole.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think that it was really good that Vinny pointed out, like, why are we allowed to say these things, but I'm not allowed to be honest.

CHELSEY DONN:

You know, that was Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

An interesting perspective that I think we hadn't heard.

CHELSEY DONN:

So for that reason, four crowns for Vinny C.

TREY GERRALD:

That was funny.

TREY GERRALD:

All right.

TREY GERRALD:

Thank you.

TREY GERRALD:

Yelp.

TREY GERRALD:

Good job.

VOICEOVER:

There's a reply.

CHELSEY DONN:

But wait, so I wanted to do that first because I wanted you to, I wanted you to have the experience.

CHELSEY DONN:

of somebody going to the Yelp page today, I wanted you to experience what a customer of thrusters would experience if they went to the Yelp page in this present moment and read this review, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

So that was why I started there.

CHELSEY DONN:

But now I just want to go back.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I do have the original reply that Jeff wrote that got taken down.

CHELSEY DONN:

You want to hear?

TREY GERRALD:

Oh,

CHELSEY DONN:

sorry, that Vinny wrote.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, I just assumed it was exactly everything but with fluff.

TREY GERRALD:

No, we have the original

CHELSEY DONN:

review that Vinny C.

CHELSEY DONN:

wrote that got taken down.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, no.

CHELSEY DONN:

Jeff, first off, no one does what you're saying happened.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, we replaced a middle of the road tequila with a lesser tequila.

CHELSEY DONN:

Bars don't actually do that.

CHELSEY DONN:

I make the same amount of money on either bottle of shit I sell you guys.

CHELSEY DONN:

Fact is, Jeff, you got a cast of Migos and the bartender treated you like an idiot because you were a dumb idiot that claimed a false thing, I see you have three other one star Yelp reviews, clearly that is because you are a complaining butthole person, here's what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna one star Yelp your mother because she made Jeff the Yelp complaining fart guy baby, good luck out there and Yelp one star crybaby idiot butthole guy land.

CHELSEY DONN:

You suck.

CHELSEY DONN:

The world thinks you suck, Jeff.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes, the entire world thinks Jeff sucks like a fart.

CHELSEY DONN:

However, farts are funny.

CHELSEY DONN:

Jeff just stinks.

CHELSEY DONN:

I guarantee that the last girl that had sex with you is currently at an AA podium right now.

CHELSEY DONN:

I knew I hit rock bottom when I woke up having sex with Jeff, the one star Yelp reviewer, butthole, fart face guy.

CHELSEY DONN:

What?

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay.

TREY GERRALD:

That is, that is not the fluff review.

TREY GERRALD:

That is a completely different reply.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's right.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, what do you think about

CHELSEY DONN:

Vinny now?

CHELSEY DONN:

I feel

TREY GERRALD:

very differently.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's right.

CHELSEY DONN:

Me too.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, okay.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, clearly Vincenzo went a little, like, really went too far in that reply.

TREY GERRALD:

And now that also makes me think, yeah, maybe, maybe they do replace it since you're that angered by this and you did that much, much research.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

Why are you that like, Irritated by this and I understand why Yelp took this down.

CHELSEY DONN:

I feel like this is like borderline harassment, like saying that the entire world hates somebody and it's like you're really trolling here.

CHELSEY DONN:

This isn't just like a little bit like let's make fun of fluff.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is really a line.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, it feels much different than a roast.

TREY GERRALD:

This feels like an annihilation.

TREY GERRALD:

Like it feels like you've lost the humor here because you're like, Going after the person, the last person that had sex with, like, it's all a little bit like what they were talking about the tequila being,

CHELSEY DONN:

yeah, and it was such a short review.

CHELSEY DONN:

It wasn't like I can understand maybe going to town on somebody if they'd written like a huge long review about like your integrity and your business and how you never are honest about the liquor that you're like, if they really went on and on and on and on and on and on, but maybe, but like the original review was only like four sentences.

TREY GERRALD:

Right.

TREY GERRALD:

Also, the sentence about whatever shit I sell you guys or whatever, that was also like, wait, what?

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, he was being sarcastic.

CHELSEY DONN:

That didn't feel

TREY GERRALD:

playful.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I don't think it was meant to be evil, but it did come across a little bit like we're losing the narrative.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, stay focused.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, what?

TREY GERRALD:

Like, it is like really splintering off from the point.

TREY GERRALD:

So if I'm considering my original crowning for the edited reply, Yeah, where I really felt like, who cares?

TREY GERRALD:

It's a bar called thrusters.

TREY GERRALD:

This actually is like, I don't want to get this owner angry.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, what if I like,

CHELSEY DONN:

well, that's what I'm wondering.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, is it this weird psychology where it's like, Oh, I want to make people not want to write one star reviews because if they do, this is how I'm gonna reply.

CHELSEY DONN:

Because, like, we've read a lot of one star reviews on this show, Trey, and that Even though we don't really love Jeff, like that's not the worst one star review we've ever read.

CHELSEY DONN:

We've read some really damning reviews, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

And this is like putting it out there sort of plainly, which I guess can be damning, but it's not like he said the bartender was a dick, but that's like as bad as he got,

TREY GERRALD:

which like I didn't even say at the time, but like, I don't even think that's that big of a, that's not that negative.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, Right.

TREY GERRALD:

To say someone was a dick.

TREY GERRALD:

Exactly.

TREY GERRALD:

You know, I, I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

I, it does make me think that Vincenzo could have used an edit or, or like someone else to sort of be like, uh, the approach is fun.

TREY GERRALD:

Let's stick with the fun approach, but let's, uh, take away the stuff about the mom and take the stuff away about like, everyone hates you.

TREY GERRALD:

And like the last person you had sex, like all of that's It does feel a little extreme in relation to what the original review was.

TREY GERRALD:

No wonder it went viral.

CHELSEY DONN:

Totally.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, by the way, I just want to give quick credit to SourBeefHoop, who posted this review on Reddit.

TREY GERRALD:

It is funny to me, though, that Vinny points out that, like, Casamigos is, like, a very mid level tequila.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, that is really funny.

CHELSEY DONN:

What?

TREY GERRALD:

That's really funny to me.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, so, like, should we crown this original reply?

VOICEOVER:

Yes,

CHELSEY DONN:

I think let's crown it.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay.

VOICEOVER:

The queens are tabulating.

VOICEOVER:

Tone

CHELSEY DONN:

to school.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, I'm holding up one crown, Trey's holding up a half crown.

CHELSEY DONN:

Why half crown?

CHELSEY DONN:

I

TREY GERRALD:

am just, I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

It just now this, this just puts, uh, sour taste in my mouth.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, like I'm sour beef hoop person here.

TREY GERRALD:

It doesn't liken me to the business owner.

TREY GERRALD:

It makes me think like, so I think it has a negative impact.

TREY GERRALD:

And so therefore I can only do a half crown because you're not helping the case here.

TREY GERRALD:

Like you've gone a little extreme.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, you got off the rails.

TREY GERRALD:

Why did you say one?

CHELSEY DONN:

I said one.

CHELSEY DONN:

It did go viral.

CHELSEY DONN:

You know, people did read it.

CHELSEY DONN:

It like made some sort of a wrong statement.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, I guess for the wrong reasons, that's why I'm like, I'm, I should maybe give that credit to Vinny, but like, I think Vinny, like, really just topped off here and lost almost all of their credibility, I think they really could have used a friend in this moment, or maybe a punching bag, or something, I also think like, Vinny's like obsessed with farts and buttholes and, Like good for them.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

But like it was a little bit redundant after a while.

CHELSEY DONN:

And even for thrusters, I felt like, you know, Vinny took it too far.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I gave a crown, maybe more like a half crown.

CHELSEY DONN:

If I'm not factoring in the fact that people found this review.

CHELSEY DONN:

But no bueno.

CHELSEY DONN:

This was a really like flip it and reverse it kind of episode, Trey.

TREY GERRALD:

This was interesting.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm glad you found this on Reddit.

TREY GERRALD:

Like that's an interesting thing.

TREY GERRALD:

We should consider that more in the future.

TREY GERRALD:

I

CHELSEY DONN:

know I don't usually do it because I'm like, is it cheating?

CHELSEY DONN:

You know, but I want to like really do the on the ground research for you.

CHELSEY DONN:

But also there's so many people on Reddit.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I feel like as long as we're giving credit to to those people who are sort of in our corner and trying to explore these funny reviews.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think it's, it's fun and interesting.

CHELSEY DONN:

And thank you, Sour Beef Hoop.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

And thank you, Chelsey.

TREY GERRALD:

Great choice.

TREY GERRALD:

Thrusters Lounge.

CHELSEY DONN:

Thrusters.

CHELSEY DONN:

If we, if you're ever on the West Coast, Trey, maybe we'll have to head over there and meet Vinny face to face.

CHELSEY DONN:

We could bring him a whoopee cushion.

TREY GERRALD:

That's good.

TREY GERRALD:

He would love that.

CHELSEY DONN:

All right, that was fun.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think we reached the most regal portion of our show, Trey.

CHELSEY DONN:

That went by fast.

CHELSEY DONN:

Who are you inducting for?

CHELSEY DONN:

My Royal

TREY GERRALD:

Highness.

TREY GERRALD:

All right.

TREY GERRALD:

So Chelsey, I really want to shout out this product that I'm obsessed with.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm wondering if you've ever, I'm sharing my screen so you can see it, but have you ever heard of Fresh Sets?

CHELSEY DONN:

I haven't, but I've used these kind of things before.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, so, so for the listener, if you're not on our Patreon, where you can watch our episodes, this, okay.

TREY GERRALD:

These come in little three packs.

TREY GERRALD:

They call them settes, which I had to Google like what a sette is.

TREY GERRALD:

And it's basically small

CHELSEY DONN:

satchel,

TREY GERRALD:

well, it's like cloth.

TREY GERRALD:

that's filled with like herbs and and seedlings and things so this isn't the true definition of a sachet but they call so okay so these are like my mom had them like when i was growing up and they are outrageously odorful where like this one specifically is the white cotton and so they're built to stick in like Review Queen, One Star Zinger, Crowns, inducting, My Royal Highness, inducting,

CHELSEY DONN:

My Royal Highness,

TREY GERRALD:

But that's my like secret is I love to put it in my guest bed so that when my guests come like it smells like really fresh clean linen.

TREY GERRALD:

They're so overly potent but like in the most delicious way possible and I want to shout them out because I'm obsessed with them and I love them and also they are distinct in the fact that they were the original scented envelope sachet and they use A 30 percent recycled paper, all biodegradable.

TREY GERRALD:

So I have to induct them for My Royal Highness this week.

TREY GERRALD:

The Fresh Scents Scented Satchets.

TREY GERRALD:

And my personal recommendation is the scent of white cotton.

TREY GERRALD:

Love that.

TREY GERRALD:

I just love them.

TREY GERRALD:

They really will change your linen closet, so go get them.

CHELSEY DONN:

Do

TREY GERRALD:

it.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, that's it, Queen.

TREY GERRALD:

We did it.

TREY GERRALD:

Another round on the R U A R Q Ferris wheel of fluff, butthole, fart, piñata, Casamigos.

TREY GERRALD:

Or is it?

CHELSEY DONN:

Thank you for joining us today.

CHELSEY DONN:

TREY GERRALD:

And if you didn't like what you heard, please tell a butt butt fart, fart enemy.
