Tips:
- Keep it light - let kids have a summer
- Be creative
- Allow choice
- Accessible for all
Ideas:
- Visit a museum or gallery. Use cell phones to record a review of X pieces. Edit them into a cohesive documentary style video using WeVideo or other video editor.
- Make the world a better place. Write a story about it using Book Creator.
- Interview a professional. Record the audio and make a podcast. Check out our student podcasting guide for lots of great tools for this.
- Write a movie review. Create a movie poster style version of the review in Canva.
- Attend a conference and create a timeline of your visit using time.graphics
- Go on a hike and collect/catalog X number of items. Plant life, animal life, etc.
- Participate in the Getty Challenge. Recreating your favorite works of art from home using household items.
- Curate a virtual exhibit in Google Slides. Check out this great example from Framingham Middle School.
- Write a children's book.
- Adventure Challenge. Create a community-based scavenger hunt at local parks/libraries. QR code centered.
