Our New Life Is Christ
By Tammy Lacock
“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17, KJV)
Warren teaches from Romans 5, verse 17 to further explain the Apostle Paul’s revelation of Jesus Christ as his only Life.
When we came into this world, we came already needing a Savior because of the sin-curse of one man, Adam. Yet by God’s amazing and abundant gift of grace, we are brought out of this life of sin by the death and resurrection of one man, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Through Him, we are justified and brought out of death to a new life with Him, a life of righteousness IN Him. As believers, we died when He died. When he arose, we arose too, and He became our new life, our only life.
God’s intention from the beginning is that every human being can have a new life in them (Ephesians 1:4). Through Christ’s death and resurrection, our old lives are finished. Christ’s last words on the cross, “It is Finished,” speaks to the end of sin and death, the end of one man’s curse. And by one’s man’s death and sacrifice, we are all given the chance to live a new life, an eternal life IN Him as bona fide children of God.
As believers, our new life is Christ.
“I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou has sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” (John 17:23, KJV)
