Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Jesus. Matthew 6:34. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 22 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, PT 2.
Jesus doesn’t just counsel us not to worry about life’s daily necessities: money, clothing, food, housing, transportation, job security, etc.—he counsels us not to worry about tomorrow at all. Plan, sure—be anxious? Not for a moment, since there’s enough trouble in each day, we needn’t add to that trouble by being anxious about the unknown. Live in today—right now—don’t borrow tomorrow’s trouble, or the next appointment’s trouble, or the next conversation’s stress. Leave that in his care—and trust him to care for what you’re dealing with right now, too. Really. You won’t regret it.
