Sometimes the best Disney World questions are the ones that don’t fit neatly into one category. So for this episode, I opened up an Instagram question box and let you ask me anything.

We’re covering everything from January weather and New Year’s Eve crowds to choosing park days, park hopping, Lightning Lanes, holiday parties, dining reservations, and whether the Fantasmic dining package is actually worth it.

Basically, it’s a little bit of everything you might be thinking about during Walt Disney World planning.

And even though these questions are all different, there’s one thing that connects them: figuring out what is actually worth your family’s time and money.

• How your Disney World Lightning Lane strategy can change when you’re park hopping, and why you don’t necessarily need to book your first Lightning Lanes at your first park

One of the biggest things I’ve learned through years of Walt Disney World planning is that there isn’t one perfect itinerary for every family.

A Disney World crowd calendar can give you incredibly helpful information, but I still want to layer your family’s priorities on top of that data. The same goes for your Disney World Lightning Lane strategy. If meeting Woody is more important to your child than riding a specific attraction, that changes how I’d plan your morning.

And sometimes spending a little more can make the day feel a lot easier. The Disney Fantasmic dining package is a good example. If you’re already planning to eat at one of the participating restaurants and want to see Fantasmic, having reserved seating can take some pressure off your night. But if those things aren’t priorities, you don’t need to add it just because someone else says it’s a must-do.

That’s really the goal of Walt Disney World planning: knowing enough about your options that you can decide what makes sense for your family.

Use a Disney World crowd calendar as a tool, build a Disney World Lightning Lane plan around your actual priorities, and book something like the Disney Fantasmic dining package when it genuinely makes your trip easier, not because you feel like you’re supposed to do everything.
