As former Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote back in 1919, “The best test of truth is the power of the thought to get itself accepted in the competition of the market.”
I agree.
No one can lay claim to alone know the truth. And to the extent truth is left untested, it tends to become rigid dogma.
Why, then, in a nation which presumably prides itself on free speech, do people speak over others, refusing to listen to what others have to say?
