Transcripts

Hey there, it's Michael. Welcome to Whole again on Mondays. I love sharing a microdose of meditation for you to help you navigate today's uncertainty with a bit more grace. During this time of year, everything can feel like it's going at a thousand miles an hour. It can feel like everything is urgent from the moment you wake up.

There is so much that we juggle this time of year and it all feels like it's gotta get done right away. Do it right now from holiday sales to things that you need to wrap up at work before the end of the year demands with a family. You my friend. Are juggling so much. So for the next few minutes, I'll invite you to create some space.

To slow things down a bit. This is the one thing that doesn't require your urgency. So wherever you might be, settle into a comfortable position. And if it feels safe to do so, you may wish to close your eyes

and we'll drop in. Let's begin with a generous breath in. If you can breathe up through your nose and then deep into your belly,

and then release the breath, breathing out through your mouth, inviting your shoulders to relax.

Bring some ease to the area around your neck and jaw.

Allow yourself to slow things down and settle into this moment.

And then naturally let the breath come in

and have the breath go out.

Things may still feel hectic, and that's okay.

We are not trying to get rid of all the chaos in this moment. We are simply finding a moment of calm, allowing this to be enough

in this moment. There's nothing to fix. There's nothing to do.

Allow it to help you feel grounded, stable.

Let your simple presence be enough for right now.

And if your to-do list pops into your mind, congratulations. You, my friend, are perfectly human.

For now, imagine taking one simple step back from your to-do list and giving it space.

You can even let yourself smile at all your swirling thoughts. You don't have to fight them or push back on them. Simply notice. Notice them the way you notice the weather passing across the sky.

See if you can feel the steadiness in your breath,

the sense of groundedness in the body, knowing that you're much bigger than your to-do list.

You can also appreciate that. Mother Earth is never in a hurry, but somehow she gets it all done

now. See if you can find something satisfying about slowing down.

Amongst all the urgent busyness of the season,

the world may be in a hurry.

Our minds may wish to rush, but the breath says not right now. Simply be

right now, we choose calm.

We choose composure and thoughtfulness,

knowing that we'll get it all done. One breath at a time.

You've got this and here. We've got you.

And when you're ready, you can open your eyes if you've had 'em closed and begin to wiggle your fingers and toes. You can even give your body a little stretch. I hope you enjoyed this moment to slow things down a bit, and you might share it with one of your friends. You can find other microdose meditations like this.
