Shownotes
Lisa Falco works in the FemTech sector, the specialist interface between medicine and technology, focusing on how data can be used to better understand the human body. She has an MSc in Engineering Physics from Chalmers, Gothenburg, and a PhD from the EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland, and she’s the author of Go Figure! The Astonishing Science Of The Female Body. Lisa is also the former Head of Data Science at Ava Women, the maker of the Ava bracelet (one of the multiple devices I use and love), and she’s spent her career developing algorithms to decipher the menstrual cycle and help women get pregnant faster.
In this episode, we talk about how FemTech can empower women, why we need to remember that technology should support - not replace - your understanding of your body, why Lisa became interested in working in FemTech, why diversity is crucial in all professions, data privacy concerns around FemTech, and so much more. I hope you enjoy this conversation about how technology is changing the landscape of women’s health!
