Happy new year friend.
2
:I hope that your new year is off to an
amazing start and that you're feeling
3
:motivated and inspired and you're
making plans and feeling confident
4
:that you will be manifesting them.
5
:With that in mind, I wanted to
bring you a bonus episode about
6
:the word of the, your tool.
7
:This is a tool that I have used
for probably five years now because
8
:it's so simple and really fun to do.
9
:And it's a great way to help you eat.
10
:Like if you haven't done any planning
or thinking about the, the new
11
:year or you've done a lot, it's a
great way to just really simplify.
12
:What your intention is
for this coming year.
13
:And then from there, you can make
things more complex or you can
14
:just stick to staying connected
with your word of the year.
15
:This episode is basically
going to be a class.
16
:I'm going to explain about the word of
the year and then I have a worksheet.
17
:Here that you can download and use to
help you decide your word of the year.
18
:And I'm actually going to walk through
it with you as if we were having a
19
:class as if this was a paid class.
20
:This is my gift to you here.
21
:You don't even need to give me your
email is this, I'll add the link in the
22
:show notes and you can just download it.
23
:If you want to connect with me I know
that you are resourceful and there's
24
:lots of ways to connect with me.
25
:So I encourage you to, to download
and print out the worksheet.
26
:I love actually having something in
your hand that you can work on or
27
:have a journal and actually like,
write it down on a piece of paper
28
:while you're looking at the PDF.
29
:Online on the screen.
30
:A little bit about the word of the year.
31
:Basically what you do is you choose
a word that has meaning to you that.
32
:That incorporates it, that embodies your
intention for how you want to be, how
33
:you want to feel for maybe something
specific that you want to create.
34
:Like if you're trying to create a family,
then that the word might be family.
35
:If you're trying to stay aligned or
like connected to your intuition,
36
:then the word might be intuition.
37
:It's really quite simple.
38
:I will talk a little bit more
later about using multiple words,
39
:which can be very powerful as well.
40
:And this word of the year, it is you use
it ideally to help you orient yourself on
41
:a day to day basis or on a week to week
basis, depending on how you like to check
42
:in with yourself, maybe you wake up and.
43
:As you're laying in bed, you remember
your word, you connect to it.
44
:And by so doing, you're bringing
that energy in into your day.
45
:You are reminding your brain of.
46
:What you intend to create.
47
:And typically it's something that there's
a little bit of a growing edge to it.
48
:Because we don't need to remember
something that feels already
49
:automatic and like, we got it right.
50
:So it really, there might be a little
bit of, you know, like practice
51
:or discomfort or that typical.
52
:Whatever your internal conversation is
about about growth or, or new habits.
53
:That it might help you to
activate that and work with that.
54
:And.
55
:Your word of the year can be
really helpful in making decisions.
56
:So help because your
resources are limited, right?
57
:Your time.
58
:Your money, your attention.
59
:And when you have a word, like
maybe your word is a quiet.
60
:And you find yourself like
with your phone in your hand or
61
:scrolling mindlessly through social
media, and then you remember.
62
:Oh, my word is quiet.
63
:Then that can help you to decide like,
Hey actually, what I'm doing right now.
64
:The best way that I can, I can
live in alignment with quiet is
65
:for me to put down my phone and
sit by the window with my cat.
66
:And brief.
67
:Right.
68
:Your word of the year, it can
help you decide like what habits
69
:you really want to focus on.
70
:It can help you decide.
71
:If you want to take a certain class,
or if you want to stop putting money
72
:somewhere that isn't in alignment
with what you're doing, like.
73
:If you have a word that is maybe it's
impact or community impact, and there is
74
:a company that you learn that they have
practices that aren't very supportive
75
:of their employees or that are having a
negative impact on the environment, then.
76
:Then having that word in mind,
you can remember like, okay.
77
:This is.
78
:The way that I can embody this word.
79
:Even more is to decide not to purchase
the products from that company.
80
:So there's so many different
ways you can bring your word in.
81
:And And really then the big thing
is it's like figuring out how you're
82
:going to stay connected to it.
83
:So the process that we're going to go
through here in a moment, it's really fun.
84
:It's creative feels
good and it's exciting.
85
:But the key is to actually
put your word of the word.
86
:Word of the year to work.
87
:And figure out how you can
incorporate it in what you already do.
88
:So it's going to be most, it's going
to be easiest if you piggyback it on.
89
:If you piggyback your moment
of connecting with it on with
90
:something that you already do.
91
:So, for example, if you sit down at
work and always look at your calendar,
92
:You might put your word of the year,
like as the first thing on your
93
:calendar, you know, eight 30 to 8 35,
you think about your word of the year
94
:and how to use it throughout your
day in the work that you're doing.
95
:For example.
96
:Or if you have a practice at the
end of the day where you like.
97
:You know, gratitude practice, bring
it into your gratitude practice.
98
:Like.
99
:And sometimes it's just a matter
of repeating it and reminding
100
:yourself and remembering it.
101
:What it, what it is.
102
:It's like my Michael, my word
of the year is abundance.
103
:Abundance, abundance.
104
:It's really like the hardest
part is remembering it.
105
:Remembering it throughout
the day, throughout the
106
:weeks, throughout the months.
107
:Right.
108
:So there's a lot of tricks out there.
109
:A few of them are like put a reminder
in, on a daily reminder, a weekly
110
:reminder, a monthly reminder, write it
on sticky somewhere that you'll see.
111
:Write it on your hand.
112
:You know, all of these things are helpful,
but you have to come back to them.
113
:And oftentimes after a while your brain.
114
:Stop seeing them.
115
:So you have to switch it up.
116
:So know that a sticky note might
work today, whereas You know, next.
117
:A month, you need to write
on your bathroom mirror.
118
:So how fun with that?
119
:Reach out for support.
120
:You could find a friend.
121
:That is one of the best, best ways to
keep moving with this as defined a friend
122
:who you do this process together, and
then you ask each other about the word.
123
:You know, if you have a coach.
124
:Please share with your coach.
125
:Talk about it with your coach.
126
:Your coach can help you embody
the word of the year throughout
127
:your time together because they
can help you stay accountable.
128
:Like, this is what I
do with my, my clients.
129
:I have a list of things that I am.
130
:I am checking back with them on.
131
:And I'm continually like checking in.
132
:During our session in between
sessions on those things that I
133
:know will support them to remember.
134
:All right.
135
:And if you have any other ideas
for how to use a word of the
136
:year, how the heck to remember it?
137
:I would love to hear.
138
:So let's get started.
139
:So assuming you have your lovely PDF here.
140
:The first thing you want to do is
essentially you're brainstorming.
141
:How you want to F like what
this, the future you wants.
142
:And one of the first questions.
143
:That can help you do this is
like, how do you want to feel.
144
:What are the feelings that
you want to feel more of?
145
:And feelings.
146
:This might be, I want to feel more peace.
147
:More abundance, more power.
148
:More clarity.
149
:I encouraged you to pause.
150
:As we're going through it,
I'm just going to keep moving.
151
:But please do pause so that we
can work through this together.
152
:You've gotten me along the whole process.
153
:So come up with your list of feelings
that you'd like to feel more of.
154
:And then imagine yourself thriving.
155
:Imagine, maybe it's a memory
maybe is your future self.
156
:And take some time to let me close
your eyes and breathe and bring
157
:up this image and connect with it.
158
:And you know, maybe
it's a scenario at work.
159
:Maybe it's how you feel and relationship
with your family with a loved one.
160
:With your body.
161
:And.
162
:Take a note of any words that come
up that describe that experience.
163
:And they don't have to
necessarily be adjectives.
164
:It could be.
165
:Could be healthy.
166
:It could be.
167
:One, it could be.
168
:Any word or even the couple words.
169
:That feel.
170
:Compelling.
171
:That feels exciting to you
that make you feel alive.
172
:The next question is to think about.
173
:Like, what is most
important for you to honor?
174
:In the coming year.
175
:What is your highest intention?
176
:What is the way that you'd like to
grow or transform or contribute.
177
:And allow yourself to have fun.
178
:Do your best to let go, let go
of any thoughts of like, how
179
:the heck am I going to do this?
180
:And just dream.
181
:I enjoy.
182
:So from here, we're going to start.
183
:Creating a shorter list of, of words.
184
:So word brainstorm, you can use any of
the ones that you've already come up with.
185
:And add them to this list.
186
:Add anything else, any other words that.
187
:Feel amazing to you.
188
:Make a list.
189
:And then circle your top three.
190
:Right here.
191
:You might need to pause and step
away maybe for a few minutes,
192
:go to the bathroom with the T.
193
:Maybe give yourself a day.
194
:And left these words.
195
:Really.
196
:Kind of like, I'm imagining like
popcorn in a popcorn maker of like
197
:what I'm just like move around in you.
198
:And then decide.
199
:And know that there's.
200
:You can't go around here.
201
:Decide what feels right right now.
202
:And then write it down.
203
:Write it down.
204
:Make that sticky right on your hands.
205
:So give yourself a tattoo.
206
:And if here, I want to mention that.
207
:You can choose more than one word.
208
:And I recommend.
209
:That you do this, especially for
words that are loaded with a lot of
210
:external meaning or cultural meaning.
211
:So, for example, my
words this year are it's.
212
:My primary word is action.
213
:Action.
214
:However for me.
215
:That word comes loaded with a lot of
type a goal, getting we're gonna just
216
:like power through it and get it done.
217
:And that's not.
218
:What I want.
219
:That's not the, the, the, the tone
of the word action that I want.
220
:So I've actually put before it aligned.
221
:Action.
222
:And for me that aligned it the
way that I, that what that word
223
:means for me, it's like deeply.
224
:Connected to who I am.
225
:Into my intuition, my inner knowing.
226
:So that my action is not, it's not
coming from external influence,
227
:but rather from what is my highest.
228
:Highest sense of self and knowing.
229
:And.
230
:Knowing about myself that.
231
:Along with that.
232
:There's this tendency for holding back.
233
:Which is.
234
:Really a big part of like actually
how I work is I kind of wait.
235
:But so I put in front the word brave.
236
:So my word of the year, my words of
the year, our brave aligned action.
237
:What that brave does, is it still
stays connected to that inner knowing.
238
:But it helps to like, put me on this
Slightly more scary, like growing edge.
239
:So.
240
:Please take that.
241
:Consider it don't let
it complicate things.
242
:Don't let it like lead to you,
not choosing your word for
243
:the next half hour, day, week.
244
:Again, There is no right answer.
245
:And the more that you can actually get
out of your head, And into your body.
246
:So if you're having trouble.
247
:Then.
248
:My cat's playing with the Christmas bells.
249
:If you're having trouble
finding your word, I encourage
250
:you to take a break step away.
251
:Breathe and breathe into your body.
252
:Put your hands on your body.
253
:Put your awareness on your
belly and your breath.
254
:And try to drop your attention
from your mind into your body.
255
:And then ask your body.
256
:You know, what is my word?
257
:Or you can, if you've, you've
got your list of your top three,
258
:you can repeat them and see what.
259
:Resonates for you.
260
:How your body reacts.
261
:And your intuition.
262
:Might dust.
263
:Tell you exactly the word for you.
264
:All right.
265
:That's the process.
266
:And from here.
267
:You get to put it to use.
268
:Right.
269
:You can use all of the
recommendations that I shared earlier.
270
:Please reach out if you'd like additional,
if you Want right now, and I'm not sure
271
:how long this will be available, but you
can schedule a, a virtual tea date with
272
:me to share your word of the year or to
share where you're at in the process.
273
:And then to use that, to help you
align your action for maybe the
274
:year for the month can whatever is.
275
:Is most relevant for you in
this casual conversation?
276
:That is a virtual tea date.
277
:So I'll put the link in the show notes.
278
:Please feel free to utilize
this while it's available.
279
:And I'd love to support you to
create an amazing year for yourself.
280
:And regarding the podcast
we are in between seasons.
281
:So I will be back at some point either
with a bonus episode or I'm really
282
:planning a new podcast show that
focuses on regenerative business.
283
:So I'm, I'm in transition for that.
284
:And we'll see, we'll see where I show
up next, but I will be showing up again.
285
:So stay tuned.
286
:And thank you so much for joining me here.
287
:I so appreciate you,
wishing you a beautiful day.
