They say the money is in the email list. Of course it is, but it's not just how you think. These days, people are making money from their email list in lots of really creative ways. And in today's episode, I want to share with you 12 completely different ways that you can monetize, really make money from your email list.
00:50.97
Kennedy Kennedy
One of the ways I think most of us know you can make money from an email list is by building your email list and then making your own offers, becoming a coach, having an online course, a membership, all that kind of thing, making offers of your own expertise to your email list. But then what if you don't have any offers of your own just yet? Or also, if you do have any offers, you are actually missing out on some huge opportunities to make more money from having an email list. I always laugh when people say, the money's in the list, the money's in the list. And one of the things I always say in my keynotes is, the money's in the list in the wrong bloody place.
01:28.29
Kennedy Kennedy
It should be in your pocket, it should be in your bank, it should be on all the lovely things that you want to spend your life doing, that holiday, that trip, that vacation, that putting your kids into private school, taking care of your grandkids, whatever it is,
01:41.14
Kennedy Kennedy
that you want to be doing. That's where the money should be. So yes, the first one of these monetization methods is to grow an email list and sell your own offers. Have a coaching program where you sell your expertise, sell access to you and your expertise.
01:56.48
Kennedy Kennedy
Or if you want to create a method of delivery, which is more scalable, you don't need to be there, sort of self-study, then you can package your expertise into an online course or a membership.
02:07.48
Kennedy Kennedy
that people can go through. And again, the the price points of these things can be anywhere between $7 all the way up to tens of thousands of dollars. That's the obvious way. And that's the first way you could monetize it. But I'm going to spend the rest all of this episode giving you some more information of these more creative ways of monetizing and making serious cash from your email list. Before we get into that, if you want to see my emails, if you want to learn more about this email marketing stuff, I share my very best stuff directly with my email subscribers and you can come and get my...
02:40.45
Kennedy Kennedy
Somewhat famous daily emails where I send you a tip, a trick, an idea for your email marketing, write your email inbox. so You can just read it on your phone on the go every single day. Just go to emailmarketingheroes.com slash emails or click the QR code that's on the screen right now.
02:57.32
Kennedy Kennedy
Go to emailmarketingheroes.com slash emails and you can join my email list and actually see this stuff in action. So yes, number one of this list is sell your own offers, coaching, courses, coaching.
03:08.76
Kennedy Kennedy
done for you services and and memberships. Absolutely. Number two, a second way of monetizing your email list is to find other people who've already got programs, who've got offers. Maybe they've got software, maybe they've got a coaching program or a course that you can promote to your audience that that you would get actually paid for in exchange for promoting it.
03:36.39
Kennedy Kennedy
ah loads of different ways of doing this. okay So let's say you have an audience of entrepreneurs like I do. I could be recommending other people's courses about all kinds of areas of entrepreneurship. So yes, I teach email marketing, but actually I could also, and I do fairly regularly or semi-regularly tell people, my audience,
03:56.78
Kennedy Kennedy
about other people's offers. If someone's got a course about how to do a really good of sales video, I might tell them about that course. If someone's running a webinar about how to write really good copy, or if somebody's got a piece of software that I've really legitimately think will help my audience, I can go to the creator of that program and be like, Hey, I've got an audience of coaches, of entrepreneurs, of business people, of experts.
04:22.19
Kennedy Kennedy
I think they'd love what you've got going on. Do you have an affiliate program where I can tell my audience about it? And every time somebody buys, I get paid a commission.
04:32.68
Kennedy Kennedy
Nine times out of 10, that person's going to come back you and say, absolutely, you can tell your audience about my products and I'll only pay you when you make a sale. It's a no risk foot thing for them.
04:45.00
Kennedy Kennedy
Like they're only going to pay me when I make a sale for them. So the good news is, if you don't even have your own offer yet, but you've got an audience who have a thing in common, other people have products and services that will serve that audience, and you can become an affiliate and get paid a commission every time one of those things sells.
05:04.98
Kennedy Kennedy
This is great also in software. like There's a lot of softwares around these days where if you refer it, you get a monthly recurring commission. And we do that across multiple softwares in our business.
05:16.69
Kennedy Kennedy
It's all software that we're actually using. I like to only promote things that I actually stand behind. I test the products. I test the coaching program. I look inside the programs that I promote before I promote them because i want to make sure that when I advise my audience of something that I know ah they're going to be like, this was a great recommendation. And I recommend you do the same. Don't just promote any old thing because it pays a good commission.
05:36.81
Kennedy Kennedy
Make sure you go check it out. Make sure it's really, really good. So if there's some software that your audience will use, they may as well buy it through your affiliate link. They won't pay any more. It's just that rather than the founder of that software paying for ads to get that person in or using it on their social media spend, you are the person providing the traffic because you've already got together a whole bunch of people onto your email list. And it doesn't matter what size your email list is for this kind of thing because you can just promote it to who whoever you've got on your list, whether you've got 20 or 20 million people your list.
06:08.48
Kennedy Kennedy
It just works an absolute bloody treat. And it can mean if you promote the right thing, you can get recurring commissions. Okay. We make tens of thousands every single month from things that we've promoted to our audience that ah that we still get paid for now.
06:24.37
Kennedy Kennedy
It's really, really nice that dropping into your account. So even if they stop paying you for services, even if they move on a different direction, if they they're no longer buying your offers, you can still be earning commission from things that they bought ages ago.
06:36.89
Kennedy Kennedy
That's number two. Next is number three. That's how numbers work, right? After two becomes number three. I mean, it's crazy. We'll just reinvent the internet here, folks. Don't you worry. um is You can actually sell sponsorship in your emails.
06:51.54
Kennedy Kennedy
So there are a bunch of people out in the world who will love to have their message, their brand, their offers in front of your audience. And they will pay to do that.
07:03.00
Kennedy Kennedy
So you might send out an email and you might be able to say, this email was sponsored by ABC Company. Click here for a special offer. So you can charge people just to be inserted into your email. So you're not waiting to get a commission. You're not thinking about how many of these am I going to sell. You're literally getting paid just for inserting that. Now to do that, you need to know that that out that audience needs to know how many people are you sending this email to? They wanna know, okay, if I pay you five grand to put insert into your newsletter, how many people is that gonna get in front of?
07:40.35
Kennedy Kennedy
What's the open rates that you get on average for your newsletter? What sort of click-through rates might I expect? So selling sponsorship to display somebody else's offer or somebody else's brand in your email is another great way of monetizing your list. So you don't always feel like I'm just promoting my stuff over and over again. it' a good way of resetting attention.
07:59.00
Kennedy Kennedy
The next one is to what's called rent your list. And what I mean by that is you're not going to like sort of grab your contacts and give and give them away or anything like that, although that is an option we're going to get onto in in ah in a moment.
08:10.97
Kennedy Kennedy
But what you're going to do is you're going to be able to say to people, hey, I've got 10,000 email subscribers. Just a making up a number. I've got this number of email subscribers. If you want to, you can rent my emails.
08:22.97
Kennedy Kennedy
So basically you can say, Hey, I can do four emails over four days and about your offer. And you pay me 10 grand, you pay me 20 grand, you pay me two grand, whatever it is.
08:36.04
Kennedy Kennedy
Again, it's very similar to the sponsorship. But this, this, in this case, They're really taking over the whole email. It's an email that you're sending on their behalf.
08:46.76
Kennedy Kennedy
Again, it's all of these things are only really going to work if they are related products that are useful to your audience. So let's say somebody comes to me and they have an email marketing platform. I check out the platform.
08:57.99
Kennedy Kennedy
I think it's really good. i'm like, actually, this is really brilliant. I'm happy to stand by it, put my name next to it. Then I could say that company, yeah, that sounds really good. I've got X number of people on my email list.
09:09.89
Kennedy Kennedy
I usually get a 42% open rate on my emails. That means this number of people are going to see it. It's five grand for me to do a three day promotion to that. They're renting your list.
09:21.26
Kennedy Kennedy
You don't actually give them access to your list. They send you the emails. You check over the emails. You make sure they're good and you're happy with them. And then there you go. Off it goes. All right. So that's renting your list. Number five is what I alluded to before, which is, again, you have to have the right terms and conditions in place here. You have to make sure with all of these things, obviously not a legal expert, not really qualified in very much at all, but you can sell the contacts that you're collecting to other people. Of course, you've got to do that with permission, right? You've to make sure not anything dodgy here, it's in your terms and conditions, make clear about it. But this is a really good way
09:57.22
Kennedy Kennedy
of monetizing your list. now it's not something we do, but there's a lot of people I know who do this and they do it very very successfully. There are people who just want, I want every lead I could possibly get, want to just keep building my email list with people who are entrepreneurs. Well because we build a list of entrepreneurial type people, they would love to pay us per lead that we can send them. So again you can sell those contacts to somebody else.
10:22.81
Kennedy Kennedy
Number six is to have and introduce a VIP tier to your newsletter subscription. So most of your emails, like what I send out, are free. They're the marketing. That's what people are receiving on a day-to-day, week-to-week basis to hear about your offers, to learn some stuff, to get some value, and of course, find out about your paid value that you can offer them as well.
10:43.14
Kennedy Kennedy
But what you can do, and and you see this is very, very popular right now, is have another tier of your newsletter subscription, which is paid. would call it like a VIP or an insider's tier of the newsletter.
10:54.50
Kennedy Kennedy
And in that in that kind of thing, it's a much more produced. It's much more insightful. And the newsletter itself is the product. Now, of course, you can still promote other things in that newsletter.
11:06.22
Kennedy Kennedy
Imagine if you had like a a newsletter that was $7 a month. right Yes, you're going to give some value, but of course you could still rent your list of buyers to somebody else. One of the other strategies.
11:17.59
Kennedy Kennedy
You could offer sponsorship inside of that because they are all buyers. These things can work together. So having a VIP tier of your newsletter subscription is another really, really powerful thing to do because, again, it usually will increase, significantly increase the the the quality of the people and the open rates and the attention that people give to your newsletters.
11:38.38
Kennedy Kennedy
Does it need to be an everyday newsletter? It could be. So if you're in the um stock trading or stock picking niche, then a VIP newsletter subscription could be a premium offer. It could be three, four, five, seven hundred dollars a month to get your your stock picks. It could be something like that.
11:56.14
Kennedy Kennedy
If you are doing something more hobby-based, hey, dog training or knitting or painting or journaling, we have clients who do all of those sorts of things. Again, it could be that every week they get two newsletters which help them with different parts of of their hobby, but they're willing to pay for it on a low ah low price, but high volume is what you're going to go for then. Of course, those people give you also higher attention, which means you can put more offers in front of them.
12:23.53
Kennedy Kennedy
Number seven is what's called auto co-registration to other people's lists. So what this is, is again, you've got to be careful about making sure it's very clear, making sure that you've got your legals all set up. Again, just I'm going assume this all properly.
12:39.02
Kennedy Kennedy
But when someone joins your list, you can have agreements with other people that you're also going to send those leads to their list. Again, not something we do, but I know a lot of people who are doing this and making a good deal of money.
12:51.04
Kennedy Kennedy
And here's what works really, really well. There's basically two different types of co-registration. This one, number seven, is auto co-registration. That's where somebody joins your email list and they're automatically also inserted into somebody else's email list.
13:05.47
Kennedy Kennedy
And there's another one, which is number eight, which is Opt in co-registration. And you'll have seen this if you've been on email lists where you've joined it on things through things like Beehive and stuff like that, where you join someone's email newsletter on the next page that says, hey, we also think you might be interested in these other newsletters.
13:21.09
Kennedy Kennedy
Would you like to opt into those ones as well? So that's opt in co-registration. And in both cases, the way you monetize that is you get paid for every lead that you send.
13:32.92
Kennedy Kennedy
But here's how it gets really cool. So let's say somebody normally in your in your niche that you're going to help people build their list on. You're building your list, they're building their list. You have the same kind of audience.
13:44.52
Kennedy Kennedy
You go to somebody and say, hey, look, normally you spend... $3 to make a number of right. You normally spend $3 to bring a new subscriber into your email list. Well, I'll tell you what, if I bring people into my list and they opt in, let's say it's opt in co-reg, right?
14:00.72
Kennedy Kennedy
And they opt into your list. I'll only charge you $1 for every person who comes and does that. That's a great deal for them because it's only a third of the price they're paying through their meta advertising or their Google advertising or whatever they're advertising. So they're like, this is awesome.
14:15.93
Kennedy Kennedy
And you just offset $1 against the $3 you're paying to get that registration. But of course, it doesn't stop there because what you can do at that point is you can go and do that with three or four people.
14:29.91
Kennedy Kennedy
So let's imagine you did that with four people. Someone joins your email list, you pay $3 to get them in. And then on the next page, it says, hey, do you want to opt into all these other lists? And you have four different lists on that page.
14:41.86
Kennedy Kennedy
Of course, they're relevant to your audience. So somebody opts into all four of them, for example, and you get paid a dollar off all four of those people. You just made a dollar's profit from generating your leads in the first place. So Auto or opt-in co-registration, very good way of creating business, of creating money from your email list building that you're already doing, okay?
15:06.71
Kennedy Kennedy
Next, number nine is pay per lead offers. These are starting to make a resurgence again this year. And it's a really exciting time. What you can do is you can find people who have their funnel and have their numbers so dialed in that they know if I send them a free lead or a lead for a really low ticket free They know how much that person is worth to them over the next four weeks, eight weeks, 16 weeks, six months, 12 months.
15:37.44
Kennedy Kennedy
They know how much that person is worth to them. So they're willing to pay you for every single lead you send them. Great example. I know somebody who has $10 book.
15:49.55
Kennedy Kennedy
And every time someone sends him a lead, he is able to have his economics, his numbers also dialed in. but Even though, let's say I promote this guy's book and I'm going to say to my audience, hey, this guy's got a book. It's only $10.
16:02.24
Kennedy Kennedy
You should go get it. Because his numbers are so dialed in in his business, he pays me. $30 for every person I send over. And there's also free versions of this. Hey, go get this thing. It's free because that person's got there their system are so dialed in, they'll go, d you know what? I'll pay you $10 for every free lead you send to me because they know their numbers.
16:28.00
Kennedy Kennedy
So for me, all I'm doing is recommending something. It's not a paid offer necessarily, but I'm getting paid per lead that I send over. It's a pay per lead offer. Number 10 is a solo ad.
16:40.01
Kennedy Kennedy
And the way the solo ads work, and they've been around for years, again, I'm seeing these coming around again, is you can say to people, hey, um if you want, I can promote your thing to my list.
16:51.76
Kennedy Kennedy
And I'll be able to get you X number of clicks from my emails to your landing pages. And for, let's say, a thousand clicks, it's going to be this amount of money, $500, $200.
17:05.58
Kennedy Kennedy
So again, it's another way of framing that sort of renting your list out. But what you're actually selling is the number of clicks. OK, so you have to track the number of clicks and be able to do that.
17:16.15
Kennedy Kennedy
Number 11 is an offer roundup email. This is where you grab multiple affiliate offers and you put them into one email. You see people doing this a lot during certain holiday sale events around the year. Things like yeah New Year's specials, Black Friday specials, those kind of things. You go, here's my picks of the season.
17:37.11
Kennedy Kennedy
OK, so you see this over Christmas and the festive period when there's lots of gift giving going on. Here's my top. If you've got like an audience of of mums and dads, of parents, you might say, here's my top top picks of children's toys for the season.
17:51.18
Kennedy Kennedy
And you put them all in there. That means the the recipient goes, oh, these are really good gift ideas. But when they click and buy through that link, you make a commission. All right. and This could be the same if it's ah if there's not a Black Friday offers in your particular niche. You could say, here's my picks. I've scoured the Internet for the best Black Friday deals that there are. Here are my picks of those deals.
18:13.27
Kennedy Kennedy
And again, it's multiple offers in the same email because you are doing an offer roundup. And number 12 is kind of related, but a little bit different, which is what I call a curated deals email.
18:24.74
Kennedy Kennedy
This is where you reach out to a bunch of people who want to be in front of the same audience that you've collated your list. And you say to them, hey, I'm putting together a special email newsletter where I'm going to feature...
18:38.60
Kennedy Kennedy
10 or eight or whatever number you want, 10 of the best offers in this particular niche for that audience. And if you want to be featured, it's only $1,000. It's only $500.
18:50.37
Kennedy Kennedy
So the way you monetize that one is not through affiliate commissions like the one before, the offer roundups, but with curated deals, people are paying a flat fee just to be included so you get paid up front.
19:02.83
Kennedy Kennedy
So 12 different ways, very different ways, very creative ways you could be making money with your email list and you can do a combination of them. Some of them you might look at and go, that doesn't really fit for me or I don't really want to do that or it doesn't really work in my market.
19:15.38
Kennedy Kennedy
That's fine. We don't do all of them, but there are things that we've been helping our clients to implement over the past few years. Really, really valuable I hope you go and use them and get more creative than just, I have to sell my thing. Now, of course, if you're thinking, oh, well, I really need to grow my email list because the bigger your email list is, the more of these things you can actually implement and the more you can charge for things like placement inside your emails and access to your emails and all the other things.
19:39.25
Kennedy Kennedy
And of course, when you're doing affiliate promotion, the more you're going make, then that's all the better. So I've actually put together another video just here where I show you lots of really creative ways that you can build your email list really, really quickly. Get more people on it so you can monetize it using everything we've talked about today.
19:56.14
Kennedy Kennedy
Definitely go check that out. And if you haven't already, make sure you like, you subscribe and all that good stuff here on YouTube. And I'll see you soon.
