The Depletion (Fox News)

The 2026 Trustees Report says ongoing tax revenues would cover only 78% of scheduled retirement benefits after 2032 depletion.

Once the reserve dries up, ongoing tax revenues will cover only 78% of scheduled retirement benefits, according to the report.

"One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA): Enacted on July 4, 2025, this law makes permanent the lower income tax rates and adjusted tax brackets originally enacted under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and both increases and makes permanent the larger standard deduction of the 2017 Act," the report says.

The Verdict (Not the Bee)

Karmelo Anthony found guilty of murdering Austin Metcalf.

The verdict, read by Texas District Court Judge John Roach Jr., carries with it a sentence of five years to life in prison. Anthony was 17 at the time, but Texas law allowed him to be charged as an adult. He is now 19.

Some in the courtroom reacted with cries and Metcalf's twin brother, who made his first appearance in the courtroom, leaned forward. Anthony's mother wept. Roach had warned people in the courtroom to control their emotions when the verdict was read. Anthony's attorney kept an arm wrapped around him.

Skid Row homeless claim they’ve been paid to vote for Karen Bass and Nithya Raman.

A series of shocking videos appear to show homeless residents on Los Angeles’ Skid Row claiming they were paid to vote for Mayor Karen Bass and Councilwoman Nithya Raman.

The videos after they were published Tuesday on TikTok.

The footage, recorded near 7th Street and Flower Street in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, has since been provided to the Department of Justice.

One man, identified as Kevin Shepherd, claimed he received $4 to vote for Bass.

When asked whether he would also have been paid to vote for Raman, Shepherd claimed the answer was yes and said Spencer Pratt was not among the candidates he was encouraged to support.

“They gave you an optional choice,” Shepherd claimed, alleging he negotiated for a higher payment and ultimately received $4. Shepherd further claimed he completed a mail-in ballot for Bass and deposited it in a ballot box. “Everybody said it was normal,”

“They said people came through all the time.”

Several residents alleged that groups regularly visited the area asking people to sign paperwork, though some acknowledged they did not fully understand what they were signing.

Rene Johnson, 39, who said she lives on Skid Row, claimed she received $5 after being told to vote for Bass. When asked if she thought it was fraud, she said that it was “fraudulent behavior.”

“But, you know, at the time, I didn’t know that that was going on. I was just trying to make five bucks, you know? But I didn’t do the fraud.”

According to multiple residents interviewed on camera, outreach workers allegedly visited the area as often as three to five times a week before the election, with several organizations purportedly involved.

Another woman, who said she was living on the street, claimed she was told to vote for Bass and received $2 in exchange.
