You know that feeling when you can picture exactly what you’re trying to say, but the word just won’t come? I’ve stood there trying to describe a laundry basket as “the big thing I use for dirty clothes.” The answer is somewhere in my brain. I just can’t quite reach it.

Technology can be helpful when those gaps happen. It can give us the answer almost instantly. But that made me think about something deeper: getting the answer isn’t the same as renewing our minds.

The same is true in our faith. Christian books, podcasts, quotes, and even technology can be helpful, but they can’t replace time in God’s Word. Our minds don’t just need more information. They need the truth of Christ taking root in us.

Scripture (NIV):

Romans 12:2 — “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Reflection Questions:

What am I relying on most to shape my thoughts right now?

Am I making space for God’s Word or mostly consuming things about God?

What is one simple way I can spend time in Scripture today?
