Refund Fraud targetting e-commerce retailers & food delivery companies specifically has been on the rise over the last few years. In one study, they concluded that INR (Inventory Not Received) claims have increased over 33% in US retail in 2020. While claiming INR is the easiest way for a refund fraudster to keep the product & receive their money back, it's not the only way.
In this episode, Karisse will talk about:
-How she learned about this issue & what she's done so far to help merchants combat it
-Why this particular category of online fraud is so challenging to identify, quantify, and prevent
-The secondary economy that has been created to offer various services to support refunders such as refunding-as-a-service, "boxing" services, re-shipping or drop addresses, online training, etc.
-What, if any technology solutions exist to help your company detect and protect against refund fraud
-That there are several strategies, through policy, process, and data analytics to identify and prevent losses from increasing.
