The Insurance Gap
You have homeowners insurance.
You have renters insurance.
You pay the premium every month.
But here's the question nobody wants to ask until something goes horribly wrong:
Are you sure you're actually protected?
Millions of American homeowners have no homeowners insurance at all. Among those who do, one in five told the Federal Reserve they would prefer more coverage but couldn't afford it.
Renters aren't necessarily doing any better. An estimated 45% of renter households don't carry renters insurance—and having a policy doesn't necessarily mean you've purchased enough coverage to replace everything you own.
