Understanding the Efficacy of Holding The Return
Hold return: Holding your return is a strategy when your opponent is at service and you try to score by breaking the service. It is a technique where you can use an opportunity meant for your opponent to your advantage.
Potency: Holding return can be effective at all levels but it is especially potent at the B, C or Junior level tennis. At these stages of tennis, the service is often the least developed tennis skill in players. So, once your opponent has done the serve and then a powerful and well-placed return can immediately put the server at the baseline and stop him/her from further attack and be on defense.
Other Implications
Mastering your hold on return cultivates aggressive mindset in returns
It facilitates attacking mentality, confidence and consistency in all levels of players
