[:

[00:00:54] Caroline Blazovsky: everybody welcome midweek already.

[:

[00:00:58] Intro: so fast. [00:01:00]

[:

[00:01:06] Caroline Blazovsky: week. It seems like it just, I don't know, it goes faster and faster. You know what I was thinking about, remember when we were, when we had summer vacation and we'd get off here, we would get off of school in June.

[:

[00:01:32] Eric Goranson: Yeah.

[:

[00:01:54] Eric Goranson: That was always the rule streetlights are on you better be home?

[:

[00:02:11] Caroline Blazovsky: It's like nothing

[:

[00:02:14] Eric Goranson: And back then, it's just going to date me. But back in the day, I'd be out, running around. I'd go to the seven 11 payphone with a dime to call my mom to say, Hey, I'm going to go to Jimmy's house for dinner or whatever. Just to know that I wouldn't be coming home for dinner. Cause I didn't want to skateboard the, like the mile over to my house.

[:

[00:02:45] Caroline Blazovsky: called it the payphone. Oh, payphone just dates you. I know what we, Eric and I were debating what I wanted to talk about and I couldn't remember now.

[:

[00:03:02] Eric Goranson: Arizona. Yeah, I saw that couple years ago they were testing it out. Uber I think was testing out at the Las Vegas convention center. They had a Uber autonomous car pickup location where you could get picked up and be taken to your hotel with no driver,

[:

[00:03:20] Caroline Blazovsky: You just get picked up and you get in. And it's like, and what do you do if you get in an accident? Like you just say, there's no driver. I mean, whose fault is it?

[:

[00:03:40] Eric Goranson: We got,

[:

[00:03:59] times.[00:04:00]

[:

[00:04:18] Eric Goranson: Right? Am I driving while intoxicated? Oh, the car's driving itself and stop me officer. I was in the back seat. I had too many cocktails, my cars back there. I called an Uber and it showed up who gets that ticket? No one,

[:

[00:04:36] Eric Goranson: know, but what if you get pulled over, you know,

[:

[00:04:44] Caroline Blazovsky: Yeah.

[:

[00:04:49] Caroline Blazovsky: I bought a music and driving on my favorite things. I can't imagine being with.

[:

[00:05:08] Eric Goranson: Okay. We're driving 45 minutes across town and I got my tablet with me and I could get a couple of things knocked out. Yeah. I'd like to have something to drive for me, but if I'm going out on a Sunday drive, I'm going to go hit the windy road someplace and enjoy. I don't need somebody else doing that crazy.

[:

[00:05:28] Caroline Blazovsky: Well, in the snow, I'd love for someone to drive for me in the snow. I hate driving in the snow.

[:

[00:05:44] Caroline Blazovsky: calculated.

[:

[00:05:48] Eric Goranson: You're getting, you're hoping it is. Oh, Hey, did you see on our Facebook page this week? Uh, that I posted up the U-Haul track. Did you catch

[:

[00:06:01] Eric Goranson: did. Oh my gosh. So I, I have a, a name for it. It was the small U haul truck where somebody put an SUV like an Isuzu in the. And it's half hanging out the back of it and they're hauling the SUV that way.

[:

[00:06:26] Caroline Blazovsky: why would you

[:

[00:06:42] Eric Goranson: I mean, isn't that

[:

[00:06:44] Caroline Blazovsky: I didn't see this

[:

[00:06:47] Eric Goranson: Yeah. I mean, that's, that's insane. Like the back axle is hanging off the back bumper in the last three feet of the SUV. Like a little as soon as you, or something's hanging up the back of this [00:07:00] little mini you haul truck. And I mean, that's insane to me. So I came up with a name for it.

[:

[00:07:18] Intro: I

[:

[00:07:23] Eric Goranson: its own. Yeah. Yeah. Insane and saying that's over and around the house show Facebook page.

[:

[00:07:50] Caroline Blazovsky: And then we're all like red. Most of them I think were retired, you know, enjoying life prime of life, 60, 65 years old and having a good time on vacation.

[:

[00:08:00] Intro: what you get.

[:

[00:08:21] Eric Goranson: Right. Because if it would have been food out there, you would have seen more people out there sick, like food poisoning, you know, you would have seen. You know, a third of the complex sick or quarter, the complex sick, not people that we're sharing the same building.

[:

[00:08:49] Caroline Blazovsky: It sounded like from what I read that they were having, um, they were convulsing or having some type of like maybe seizures. So I didn't think that. Just from my [00:09:00] experience with it, you know, typically

[:

[00:09:10] Eric Goranson: So that takes it down to a color, another path. And it's not like they were there for two weeks. Or a long time. So it kind of takes like some of the, to me, some of like the Legionnaires and that kind of stuff out, because that typically doesn't hit you in hours later, your dad. Yeah. And

[:

[00:09:31] Caroline Blazovsky: And then this morning it kinda hit me that I was thinking about some type of pesticide or, um, something that. That they were utilizing in the

[:

[00:09:50] Eric Goranson: The other thing it could have been too is, is, you know, you get into other countries and sometimes they use other gases in their heating and cooling systems. [00:10:00] So if you would have had a big heating, cooling system on that, that there could have been some kind of a Freon gas. You know, that could have gone in there and done something as well.

[:

[00:10:29] Caroline Blazovsky: which makes you think like some kind of poisoning or I don't know, maybe.

[:

[00:10:49] Eric Goranson: yeah, typically you're not going to in a little Villa like that, you're not going to share ice makers.

[:

[00:11:11] Eric Goranson: So, I mean, you could see something like that maybe happen. You know, all it takes is for somebody in that area to dump something down the street. And if they don't have that vented correctly, in theory that gas could come back up into a unit that was close by, that's not vented to what I would call us or, or many international standards.

[:

[00:11:32] Caroline Blazovsky: going to be interesting to see. I always like to hear stories that, you know, I don't want to hear a story like this, but I like to, to, to hear what they uncover and how they, they investigate it. Cause it's interesting to me. And obviously I deal with. Home investigations all the time. So I start, my mind starts going.

[:

[00:11:54] Eric Goranson: yeah, we're going to, we're going to find out more and again, this is 100% [00:12:00] pure speculation on our side, but obviously something really went wrong. To really get some people second die. So there's gotta be something more to this story that we're just going to have to see and find out.

[:

[00:12:19] Eric Goranson: topic. Oh my gosh. This is one of my favorite shows we've done in a while.

[:

[00:12:46] Eric Goranson: So when you go out for that travel that maybe you deter some of those people out there that could break into your home or so you can prevent damage while you're gone. Absolutely.[00:13:00]

[:

[00:13:25] Caroline Blazovsky: this year, they dropped that bomb.

[:

[00:13:37] Eric Goranson: All that. And more coming up this weekend and around the house. So we've got some fun stuff going on. And man, I tell you what, here in my neck of the woods, Caroline, it has been rain almost every single day.

[:

[00:13:58] Caroline Blazovsky: I have sun. I have [00:14:00] sun blue sky and 65 to 75 max every day now. Beautiful.

[:

[00:14:25] Eric Goranson: And so it's one of those things that, you know, breaking our April rain was our highest rainfall, you know, ever. So that was cool. We got that. And then, uh, now we've got it where a may is kind of probably break that one as well. So we've got a lot of different stuff happening here on the rain side of my area.

[:

[00:15:08] Eric Goranson: I am

[:

[00:15:14] Eric Goranson: That's awesome. Well, we get it, you know, it's funny we get it. You'll get your storms and stuff like that. We won't get rained from middle of June, till September. So we have our dry season. We're just coming out of rainy season right now.

[:

[00:15:26] Caroline Blazovsky: We'll be getting hit when you're getting all dried out. We'll be getting hurricanes.

[:

[00:15:40] Intro: around the house.[00:16:00]

[:

[00:16:19] Welcome to around the house with Eric G and Caroline [00:17:00] P. This is our midweek special. As you know, as a regular listener, this is where we fit the stuff in that didn't meet last weekend show. And of course, there's no way we can jam it into next weekend show. So here we are. Hello, Caroline. I know everybody welcome midweek already.

[:

[00:17:35] Right. And we'd have all the way till September. And it seemed like forever. I was thinking about this on my walk. How long summer vacations. And now it's like a blink of an eye. It's not even that long. And, but to a kid, to a child, we seemed like it was months and months that we had off from school. Yeah.

[:

[00:18:13] That was always the rule streetlights are on you better be home? Well, I was thinking about that today and I was like, God, it seemed like two months with such a long period of time. And you grew and you changed clothes and you got bigger sneakers and all this change happened. And for us, like two months, it's like a blink of an eye.

[:

[00:18:50] So it was easy just to drop a dime, which tells you how old I was at that point. And uh, call mom and say, Hey, I'm going over to Jimmy's house. And she knew who, you know what I mean? That kind [00:19:00] of thing. Yeah. Now I would've had a cell phone. I could have called it the payphone. Oh, payphone just dates you. I know what we, Eric and I were debating what I wanted to talk about and I couldn't remember now.

[:

[00:19:40] You just get picked up and you get in. And it's like, and what do you do if you get in an accident? Like you just say, there's no driver. I mean, whose fault is it? Yeah, whose fault of you're speeding, whose fault is it? So that's, that's an interesting one. You know, if I'm in the passenger seat or the back seat and getting a rack, whose [00:20:00] fault is it?

[:

[00:20:20] At all times now. Here's the other thing that's interesting too. If I'm in the car in the back seat and I've had three or four cocktails and I'm heading home from the bar and the car is driving, do I get a DUI?

[:

[00:21:03] Yeah. I don't know. I'm not, I'm not going to go for that. I love driving. I like going for a drive. I bought a music and driving on my favorite things. I can't imagine being with. Yeah. So, no, that's, that's that's, I mean, it's one thing. If I'm going to a meeting and I'm doing stuff and I can have somebody drive for me so I could grab my laptop and work, I get that there's some value there to me, you know?

[:

[00:21:45] Now what happens in the snow? Well, in the snow, I'd love for someone to drive for me in the snow. I hate driving in the snow. Yeah. But how is that computer going? Know all the skills. How's it going look at? [00:22:00] Is it going around going, Hey, I bet these roads racy. I better slow down. Must be calculated. I hope it is.

[:

[00:22:38] So they drove it up into the box truck, but it was longer than the box truck. So it was hanging out the back. Why, why would you do that? Yeah, I mean, why would you do that? Yeah. Uh, I'll show you the picture here from our Facebook. So this is what's crazy as I just didn't understand why they didn't get a card trailer.[00:23:00]

[:

[00:23:29] Sub trucking, you know, there's the turducken, which is the Turkey and the duck. And so I called it a sub truck and SUV trucking. So it's a subtract. Oh my God. I guess I wanted to take it. They wanted to take this car with them somewhere in the car. Wouldn't go on its own. Yeah. Yeah. Insane and saying that's over and around the house show Facebook page.

[:

[00:24:18] And this is what you get. So there's, you know, when it's, when it's a couple in one residence or one unit, you can come up with a lot of things that could have happened. But when you have a whole resort and both couples in that one kind of duplex building, it kind of narrows things down a little bit.

[:

[00:25:08] It sounded like from what I read that they were having, um, they were convulsing or having some type of like maybe seizures. So I didn't think that. Just from my experience with it, you know, typically when you have, it's not like they went to sleep drowsy and, and were sleeping it and had your, your typical coal carbon monoxide.

[:

[00:25:51] And then this morning it kinda hit me that I was thinking about some type of pesticide or, um, something that. That they were utilizing in the building. [00:26:00] Yeah. It could be a pesticide. It could be something like that. It could be something that they were using for, you know, for rodent control or something like that, that got out of hand.

[:

[00:26:28] But I think you're right though, if you look at what the symptoms that are coming out, and again, it's just coming out that I haven't, I haven't seen the toxicology or collegey report yet, but you know, the one survivor, they said that when she woke up at, I think it was a, she that woke up that they were feeling like they were apparently, which makes you think like some kind of poisoning or I don't know, maybe.

[:

[00:27:12] They probably either have a, an ice maker for that section of villas that's out on the hallway area or it's inside the unit. So, you know, you wouldn't see that usually with. Um, I mean, in theory, I guess you could see some kind of poisonous sewer gases backup into that. Again, you don't have us plumbing standards there.

[:

[00:27:50] Yeah. It's going to be interesting to see. I always like to hear stories that, you know, I don't want to hear a story like this, but I like to, to, to hear what they uncover and how [00:28:00] they, they investigate it. Cause it's interesting to me. And obviously I deal with. Home investigations all the time. So I start, my mind starts going.

[:

[00:28:33] And we've got a crazy week coming up. We've got a lot of good guests topic. Oh my gosh. This is one of my favorite shows we've done in a while.

[:

[00:29:05] So when you go out for that travel that maybe you deter some of those people out there that could break into your home or so you can prevent damage while you're gone. Absolutely.

[:

[00:29:47] Generac told us that the Northeast is preparing, we're going to get hit by a bunch of hurricanes this year. I'm like, oh, great, wonderful. All that. And more coming up this weekend and around the house. So we've got some fun [00:30:00] stuff going on. And man, I tell you what, here in my neck of the woods, Caroline, it has been rain almost every single day.

[:

[00:30:44] And so it's one of those things that, you know, breaking our April rain was our highest rainfall, you know, ever. So that was cool. We got that. [00:31:27] I am more than welcome to come here. Because we've got lots of sunshine. That's awesome. Well, we get it, you know, it's funny we get it. You'll get your storms and stuff like that. We won't get rained from middle of June, till September. So we have our dry season. We're just coming out of rainy season right now.
