201 Accelerated Resolution Therapy – ART – PTSD Recovery Outlined – Kip

ART: Accelerated Resolution Therapy & PTSD

Kevin E. Kip, Ph.D. is a tenured Distinguished Health Professor, epidemiologist, and biostatistician with 18 years of experience on U.S. Federal, Department of Defense, and industry-funded studies. His background is interdisciplinary with more than 170 peer-reviewed publications, and his presentation of new Accelerated Resolution Therapy treatment options is at once engaging, scientifically exciting and heartfelt.

With multi-million dollar funding from the U.S. Department of Defense, he established the Research to Improve Emotional Health/Quality of Life of Service Members with Disabilities, (RESTORE LIVES) Center at the University of South Florida. Through this Center, he is the leading researcher worldwide in the study of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an emerging, brief, and evidence-based method of psychotherapy for treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related comorbidities.

His Prior Work

Dr. Kip is previous Principal Investigator of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Dynamic Registry of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) which enrolled approximately 10,000 patients. He was a member of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) - Committee to Review the Health Effects in Vietnam Veterans of Exposure to Herbicides. Dr. Kip is a frequent grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is studying a range of complementary and alternative medicine therapies for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.

This discussion is, in a word - transformational. Must listen!

Ed Note: Sign up below to stay tuned for another remarkably interesting interview with Kelly Breeding MSW, Executive Director of ART International, the training and resource center for ART training and treatment services. If you would like treatment or training, she will tell us more about their remarkably predictive results at ART International for those stuck alone, out on the road of life, with no pathway home. PTSD is a biomedical and emotional problem. Kelly will go live at http://corebrainjournal.com/205 on March 22, '18.

202 Dr. Laura D Varga, DAOM. Chapel Hill, NC. She lived on both the East and West Coasts. She worked in research at UPENN and UCSD, holds a top US degree in East Asian Medicine [EAM], DAOM from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She's worked with patients since 2010. After five years practicing on my own in East Asian and then adding functional medicine, she is best at seeing the big picture - combining the holistic view of EAM with my research background.

"I love and am in awe of nature - hiking with my dogs, sailing, swimming in the ocean. I cannot believe it took me five years to see the big picture. I have learned a lot from your guests on CBJ and wanted to give back. In EAM mental/emotional health is inextricably linked to physical health."
