Shownotes

Thadius Sales shares his journey of encountering Jesus and finding love and acceptance in the church. Despite growing up in a non-Christian home, Thadius was drawn to church through a vacation Bible school and the love of other children. He experienced a heartwarming encounter with God and felt called to preach which was met with an opposing force of rejection and past hurts. Through reconciliation and the support of a discipleship group, Thadius found healing and a deeper understanding of God's forgiveness. The conversation covers topics such as reconciliation, discipleship, the challenges of pastoring, and the current season of growth in the church.

::

Unknown

ible. he actually served from:

::

Unknown

He is a man of God, a father and an incredible husband. And I actually have had the pleasure to do ministry work with him, with some foster kids. And I'll just say that this man has got a lot of wisdom. So thank you so much again for taking time, setting it apart, for coming on to the authentic podcast and whatever wisdom you have for us today.

::

Unknown

It's going to be a good one. so, Thad, we're just going to hop right into this. One of the biggest questions that I love to ask guests when they come on is, tell me about the first time Jesus got Ahold of you. And sometimes you got to reach way back in the memory banks for that. others?

::

Unknown

Not so far. But could you tell me about that time?

::

Unknown

A buzzword I love it.

::

Unknown

Oh, wow.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

I just I love God is just so good. And it's moments like those that he plans seeds that he's faithful. That. That he's driving, like, drawling you. And. And there you are at eight, nine, ten years old, cruising by on a bike. And you're like, hey, man, like, I want to do this, you know? And like, there was great, like, like it happens like they said, yeah, come on in.

::

Unknown

And like, that's just so good.

::

Unknown

Come along.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

you. So you use the church to hit on the parents, man. You use the church to slide in with them. Get the brownie points. Yeah. Come on. I love that. That's so good that.

::

Unknown

No way. Come on.

::

Unknown

Yeah. Right. This is so good.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Right.

::

Unknown

Come one.

::

Unknown

Sure.

::

Unknown

I love that this.

::

Unknown

Praise God!

::

Unknown

Wow! Wow.

::

Unknown

Yes.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

No. You didn't. That's so good.

::

Unknown

Right. No, I'm having one.

::

Unknown

That's so incredible.

::

Unknown

Wow. Come on.

::

Unknown

Amen.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Before we move forward. Too far.

::

Unknown

Before we move too far forward that I do want to dive into. So back when you started going to the church.

::

Unknown

at that point when you were going

::

Unknown

more or less just to impress the the parents, to impress the girl. You weren't really a non you were a nonbeliever at that point. What was that like? Receive people loving up on you as a nonbeliever. what effect did that have on you?

::

Unknown

Was it like chiseling at your heart? Because I know you said when the principal came up, your your guards went up a little bit. what what was one of the defining moments or things that led up to those guards coming down to.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Absolutely right.

::

Unknown

Sure.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

That's so good.

::

Unknown

Yeah. Amen.

::

Unknown

That's so good.

::

Unknown

Sure. Yeah.

::

Unknown

Praise God! Well, and I just. I had the sense to to hang out on that topic for a second because some people have gone into a church and it's kind of been like, no, no, no, no. And there has been talking about them, but not in the sense of, hey, let's uplift them, let's come around them, let's edify them.

::

Unknown

It says they've had what people would say is church hurt? They've gone, they've had an experience that wasn't loving. And I just think that there is so much hope and what you're sharing because there is real, genuine, authentic Christians who love Jesus, who want to surround themselves around you and just love you and uplift you. And it's tough when you're not receiving that at home.

::

Unknown

It's tough if you've gone into a setting that has rejected you and further put up your walls. But I just I want to encourage to the listener that there are real, authentic experiences out there with Jesus. And I want to stand in the gap for the time that it wasn't so and just say sorry on behalf of everybody.

::

Unknown

That is not how Christ is represented. That is not how Christ lives. Christ. He came to serve, not to be served. He came to be the least of them. And I just say sorry and I would encourage you is like, is this podcast continues, I know you're going to hear a lot of hope and a lot of wisdom keys from dad.

::

Unknown

As we continue on, but I'm just praying that those guards can come back down again to where you can. Didn't step into a church and try again. wow. So this inviting feeling, this warmth, because they were sharing the love of Christ, they were doing it right. They were loving up on you correctly. Ultimately brought you to a place where this lady in the church, I would say, prophesied over you.

::

Unknown

She said, like, I see this in you. She called that out in God. I just, I it's incredible that he gave you an experience with that word. Like he confirmed, like in warmness, like in your chest, to the point where it was so real. You went to pastor. Like pastor, I think I think I'm having a heart attack like that.

::

Unknown

That's incredible. That shows me that God wants to experience his children, that that sometimes he will experience us. And it's weird things like a warmth nest in a chest or a or a piece or a weight lifted that he does, there's many different ways, but I just I love that you had an experience with that word. Did that kind of help, like, solidify things or did that help like, what did that like you had the word, you had the experience.

::

Unknown

You had the pastor even confirm and speak in. And I know moments later you were saying how when you went home, they're like, now you can't make a living this way, etc.. but in that moment, like, what did that do for you? Was that an anchor point that you were able to look back on as you were progressing in the faith?

::

Unknown

I got you.

::

Unknown

Amen.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Yeah. I understand that,

::

Unknown

sure.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Come on. Wow.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Thank you. Lord.

::

Unknown

Yeah, sure.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

I want to ask you about that because I have a college phase as well. My parents, they divorced when I was 13, a couple of weeks prior to me being my, 14 year self. And that 14 year old birthday party was like, so pathetic, man. Like, I had a cupcake with, like, half of a candle on and it was so sad.

::

Unknown

My parents were split and out of that place. Now, I did grow up in a methodist church. We had a Christian family is more like a religious family. We went to Sundays, check the box. there wasn't a whole lot of like, having a personal life with Jesus that was ever shown to me. is this more like Sunday mornings?

::

Unknown

And I never really saw my parents in a prayer closet. I never saw them super seeking the Lord on stuff or, you know, just just things that maybe a Christian family would do. So when my parents split it 13 and 14, I didn't have my own faith to stand on. I was standing on my parents, and when that crumbled, so did mine.

::

Unknown

And I know how easy it was to fill that gap with pornography, to fill that gap with with women or drinking or, I even got into smoking weed and other things. And what I've looked back on with myself is I was like, man, I was hurt. And I was trying to, like, hide from feelings. I was trying to suppress feelings.

::

Unknown

I was trying to fill a void in my heart, you know, looking for love, looking for a feel like I die. And come to find out, Jesus is the only one that fills that void in your heart. You can look and look and look and believe me, I looked hard and extensive, but Jesus was the only one that could fill that void.

::

Unknown

So I just want to encourage anyone listening that might be going through that stage to hear you have, a minister in Christ who had a past, but God has redeemed him, has set him apart, has forgiven him. You're not too far gone. Nobody is too far gone that God can't reach in to you where you're at. Grab you and save you.

::

Unknown

And here I am, too. I've. I've had not the best of pass. And I agree that when I look back on those college years, I get red in the face, I get embarrassed. I'm like, oh man. Like, why would I say that? Why would I do that? And it's such a duality between the flesh and the spirit.

::

Unknown

And and when Jesus says about picking up your cross daily, like denying yourself, dying to the flesh, like there's a good reason why we need to do that. how do you now that you have been pastor and ministering, to a flock? Like how when you look back on your past, how do you. I want to say reconcile with that, but how do you how do you view that?

::

Unknown

How have you healed from like, that past self. And and I want to say it is hurt like I, I have past hurt like past stuff that I've done that I look back and I'm like, man. But like, what's a healthy view that we should have, you know, of our past?

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

That's good.

::

Unknown

Amen. Yeah.

::

Unknown

Wow. Yeah.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Amen.

::

Unknown

Wow. Yes.

::

Unknown

so, yeah, you've mentioned some really good things, like discipleship, and I want to dive into that in a second. But I know with reconciliation and man, that was huge for me. Like when the Lord really started to get a hold of me personally. He was like, make a list and start reconcile. And I'm like, what do you mean?

::

Unknown

Because some of the people that were on this list, I'm like, I don't want to be friends with them again. I don't want to. And I think one of the things that I really had to come into understanding about was reconciliation doesn't mean you need to become best friends. Reconciling. Does it mean that you need to hang out all the time or anything like that?

::

Unknown

The best definition I can give is it's just burying the hatchet. It's saying I'm sorry for my part, regardless if you forgive me. Regardless, like what you feel like I am coming to you humbly saying hey, I messed up here, I want to bury the hatchet. I want to put the past in the past and like, I'm I am so sorry for my past self and past actions.

::

Unknown

Like, I apologize. And on that list, for me, it was like my mom number one. And the rest. And I'll tell you what, there was so much freedom when I reconciled with my mother. And you want to talk about a miracle? Four years of divorce that were ugly, four years after that, that I did not talk to my mom at all.

::

Unknown

I her and I. So it was like eight years of just turmoil. And four of those were radio silent. And in an instant when I messaged and gave my mom a call, I said, hey, let's put the past. In the past, I've been on this journey with the Lord. He's leading me to reconciliation in an instant. I mean, in an instant.

::

Unknown

The Holy Spirit just took all of that remorse and regret and pain and hatred and just all of this hurt. And it was boom, gone. I mean, just like thrown so far for me. And that night I was able to actually meet up with my mom, look her in her eyes, tell her I love her, call her mom.

::

Unknown

And we ended up even cracking open the Bible and like reading that together, which was Praise God. So I think reconciliation is a big key for people that one have never done it in their Christian walk or two are just stepping into their Christian walk. I think that's something to prayerfully examine, and you can find a verse like that in Matthew chapter five, verses 23 and 24.

::

Unknown

this is how I want you to conduct yourselves in these matters. If you enter your place of worship and about Tim in, you're about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge. A friend has against you. Abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Then and only then come back and work things out with God.

::

Unknown

And it just. It blows me away to see that he would even want you to abandon an offering. He counts it that important to even abandon an offering. Go make that right, then come back and give that. so that that verse was very paramount for me in my walk in. Reconciliation has done, so many good wonders.

::

Unknown

so I'm really happy to hear you pull that wisdom key out. And discipleship. So when you started pastoring your first term, in, you're even alluding to, man, I was kind of young in my faith, yet I can't believe like that you were you were pastoring. Did you have people around you sharpening you like, did you have, like, other people that were discipling with you?

::

Unknown

I know that you alluded to or will you said that, you meet with pastors now that you confess with each other that you talk about successes and failures, and you do have iron sharpening iron in your life. When you first started out, did you have that in your life as well, or was that something that kind of came as you, as a church grow?

::

Unknown

Wow. Wow.

::

Unknown

Sure.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Ha ha! Liar! Is. Yeah.

::

Unknown

Wow. That's so good. You know, and that's another thing that I've seen as I've been maturing and progressing with Christ is we need other good, godly men or women, depending on your sex, or, you know, eldership leadership in church. We need mothers and fathers in the faith that are disciplining, that are reaching into people's lives. Like, if I didn't have my pastor that literally said to me, he because I came into his office and this is when I just got the taste of the Holy Ghost, and I was like, all jumbled.

::

Unknown

And I'm like, can this happen? Cannot happen. Have you been praying different or your hands in different positions? Like, did you feel this sensation, that type of thing. And he's like, Christian, I think I need to disciple you. I'm like, Praise God. And he took me in. And without that foundational discipleship, like, I don't think I would be who I am in the faith today.

::

Unknown

So like, I'm really happy to hear like the good godly man like you guys are pouring into each other and you have that, and I just encourage, you know, those listening too, if you don't have people that are speaking into your life in a good, godly manner, if you have people that are still like attached to past sin and things that you're doing, I would just really be checking with yourself and with the Lord and asking, who is that?

::

Unknown

That should be surrounding me and I just pray that the Lord would bring the right people to you. I know the Bible says that it's a king's matter to search a thing out, and I just pray for for kings and queens out there to to search out what God has for them. And in that I do believe that the right people will surround you, man, that this is good.

::

Unknown

So when:

::

Unknown

Amen.

::

Unknown

There. That's so good. You've definitely been spending some time in the word and with Jesus. I love that you just pull out Titus. One of the tinier books of the Bible that I. I even struggle to find that in my book. You're like, oh, yeah, here it is in Titus two. Like, I love how I just, I love that, and that's just a glorious thing about God.

::

Unknown

icking back up in your story,:

::

Unknown

Okay.

::

Unknown

Amen. Amen, I love that. Yeah. I got to hear Pastor Thad's testimony. Like I alluded to earlier, him and I got to serve together with other foster kids. It was a weekend camp for foster kids that have aged out of the system. And, man, it was just multiple days of one spiritual warfare, but two, just loving up on these kids.

::

Unknown

And it was so incredible. I think 4 or 5 we baptized 4 or 5 kids. we had a couple like just come to Christ. I know one of the girls. She was just like, I want to know more about Jesus. She's like, we gotta start up like, weekly zoom calls and like, Bible studies. And. And it was just so amazing to see these young adults just come undone before the Lord and share, like, deep, intimate things in her.

::

Unknown

And, I even know that there were there was a kid who had same sex attraction who came, and he was like, man, like I. And I said, what was your expectation before the camp? And what's been your expectation now that the camp's been going on? And he said before the camp, I thought it was going to be like a pray the gay away kind of camp, very authoritative, very, you know, unloving and just shoving Jesus down your throat.

::

Unknown

And, mind you, this camp, we talked about Jesus a lot. But the difference was it was in love. And when I asked the same kid, what was your experience at the end? He said it was good. He's like, I have a lot to think about. He's like, I learned a lot of new things. It was nothing like what I originally anticipated, and I just am kind of bringing it full circle with how when you came into the church for your first time, you are getting loved up on with the love of Christ.

::

Unknown

And that's the difference between loving someone out of flesh. No, no, no, and you got to wear this and, you can't versus like, loving them and edifying them and spurring them on in the faith, encouraging planting waters and seeds. So I just want to encourage you guys that you can have difficult conversations in love and it be effective with Christ.

::

Unknown

This is so good.

::

Unknown

d try to go back to, like, in:

::

Unknown

eady to discuss this with the:

::

Unknown

I'm going to stick to my old ways of doing things or, you know, yes, Lord, I'm going to yield to that and go down that direction. And and you've just been so faithful at saying yes and yielding to the Lord. And yes, it takes time in maturing and growing, and we're all growing into being better. Yes, man for Jesus.

::

Unknown

but what was that like in:

::

Unknown

I know God wants me to really step in. Like, what was the encouragement? Or like, how did you step in?

::

Unknown

Sure.

::

Unknown

Whoa! You.

::

Unknown

Amen, man. And there's so much discipline that comes with the Christian walk. And, you know, I've heard people say it's, you know, accepting Jesus is the most important decision you'll ever make. And I 100%, it definitely is. But I also I've heard people say that it's one of the most difficult decisions you'll ever make. And as I'm maturing in the faith, I can see that, like, as we yield ourselves to him, you know, it's less of us, more of him when it gets down to like, core issues, it can it can really take a lot of discipline to yield yourself and say yes to God and to have that.

::

Unknown

I like how you put that. That is this conducive to a Christian walk in a Christian lifestyle. Is this pleasing to God, or does it not look like a Christian walk? Would this make me a hypocrite? Would this not be pleasing to God like I like? How simplistic you break that down where it's like it's either good or it's not.

::

Unknown

And I think putting that into simple terms like for ourselves in decisions is like that, that simplifies like, okay, yep, this is bad. Nope. We're not going to do it. Yes, this is good. Let's let's keep feeding into that.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Hey, man. Wow.

::

Unknown

That's true.

::

Unknown

That's so true.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

True.

::

Unknown

Oh.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Yes. Amen.

::

Unknown

That's true.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Oh! Come on.

::

Unknown

Amen.

::

Unknown

Oh, man.

::

Unknown

It's good. Yes.

::

Unknown

No. Thank. Thank you so much for walking us through those thoughts and how you broke that down. There's so many wisdom keys there for us to take, because I think it it's challenging to accept that we are forgiven. But walking in that freedom and coming to those crossroad points and making decisions is a God. Is it Satan? Is it me?

::

Unknown

Like what? What do you want from me, God? But it's as simple as like exactly what you said. Are you going to have the faith of a devil or a faith of the believer? Are you going to say yes or no to this thing? And no one's forcing you to sin? And man, you've just you've brought such a convicting word and it's so good.

::

Unknown

It's so full of truth. I absolutely love that. And bringing that simplicity, to those decisions is incredible. I do have a question for you that is not on the docket. but it just kind of popped up to me. What has been one of your greatest struggles as a pastor?

::

Unknown

Sure.

::

Unknown

Oh, wow.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Sure.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Oh, no. Now.

::

Unknown

Sure.

::

Unknown

Amen.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

That's right, that's right. Wow.

::

Unknown

Well. And that shows your heart so much, man. Like, for you to take something like that. And it. It hit you and affect you. Because this just shows that you want to serve. It just shows that you want to be a good steward of what God has given you. It just shows that like, you want to be the best son possible and like you, you way people's words and you value people's words to the point where sometimes, like, you know, to a fault, it might affect you, sure, but it's just because your heart, like you want to serve and you want to pour back into.

::

Unknown

And it's because the love of Christ exudes from you, man. Like just meeting you in person and being around you and seeing how you interact with people. There's there's so much love in you, brother. There's so much love. And I just want to say, like, you're doing an incredible job having a flock at your age. You're out. You're 30, right?

::

Unknown

30 years old, right? When Jesus started his ministry. Come on. You. You got him by a couple years. You started a couple years earlier. but, like, you're doing such an amazing job.

::

Unknown

This is this is true. Okay. You might have a little bit more teaching experience under his belt than you, but, Man, that's so good. Just keep on plugging away, brother. And you're doing great. You have so many people who love and support you. And, I know that God is very pleased with you. And just from that love that exudes from you when I was around you, I know the fruit that's being cultivated in you.

::

Unknown

So. Yeah, man, just keep pouring out doing what you're doing. It's so good. I do want to get to, the last two questions for the podcast. The latter half here. one question I have for you is, what do you see God doing or saying in the body right now? I know that sometimes there are seasons, a time or a season that God does something in the earth.

::

Unknown

In, in the world. Do you see a season highlighted to you at this moment? And if so, is how can we partner with that as sons and daughters, as the body of Christ, as a bride of Christ? How can we partner with that?

::

Unknown

Sure.

::

Unknown

Amen.

::

Unknown

Come on.

::

Unknown

Yes.

::

Unknown

Thank you. Lord.

::

Unknown

Whoa! Wow.

::

Unknown

Come on.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Wow. Yeah.

::

Unknown

Man.

::

Unknown

Yes. Amen.

::

Unknown

Yes. Amen.

::

Unknown

Good for you, bro. Praise God!

::

Unknown

Dude, I, I am so encouraged, dude, I like I am being touched so hard in my heart right now, man. this is incredible to hear. Like, this is. This is like one of those reports that I feel like the disciples, you know, took back when they met together, like, oh, and such and such and such and such a church like this is what I report.

::

Unknown

This is what's going like. I felt like I just received this glorious report about like what God is doing in an area. And I just, I say, yes, Lord, I say blessed that Lord. I think something so profound that you said in there and I was talking with someone near and dear to me. I won't name name drop, but I was talking to someone near and dear to me, and I said I really had a picture of a menu.

::

Unknown

The Lord gave me a picture of this menu and there was a lot, a lot of items on that menu. And you know, when you go to a restaurant that has a lot of items, there's no way that all of those are really good. You know, maybe there's like a handful of items that are good, but the rest are kind of subpar, or they just really should not even be on the menu.

::

Unknown

And I was encouraging this person whom I love dearly. I said, I just I really believe that you should be viewing your ministry as like a menu in a sense, and taking a look at what dishes you make really well and hammering those puppies home, home, honing in on them and kind of cutting off those sides that aren't really popular, not a lot of people are feeding from.

::

Unknown

And this is just encouragement about like what I was hearing from the Lord. And kind of your heart posture is like, if we need to set aside, you know, 40 sides or 40 dishes or whatever to get to the ones that are really good, to get to the ones that are producing fruit, that are feeding and nourishing families, like let's, let's do those let let's do what God wants to do.

::

Unknown

Let's put aside, you know what I want to see. Let's put aside altars that we have made, not to God. Like let's let's start yielding and man that to hear your heart posture on that is incredible. And I just I'm so encouraged by what God is doing. And and through you guys praise God. Wow. And one more thing I'd love to highlight as well too is I just it blows me away that these young families, when they come to you, they say we are taking where we're logically and reasonably taking a look at the world around, and we're concluding that something beyond what we can see is happening here.

::

Unknown

And we need stability and we need answers. And I'm just so encouraged that they're coming to the church for that. Praise God.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Amen.

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Wow. Wow.

::

Unknown

Okay.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Oh.

::

Unknown

Come on. Amen. That wasn't you typing. That was the Holy Ghost. If.

::

Unknown

I'm. Amen. Man, all of this is so encouraging. And I love this, like, growing up methodist and then later going to Assemblies of God and now kind of, like, nondenominational. like, it's just good to hear and see different perspectives of different ministers in the faith that a different denomination. And I love it like, I, I love the flavor that we bring as a body.

::

Unknown

I know Paul said I became all things to all people. So some might be saved and and I'm just like, I honor the Methodist, I honor the assemblies, the brethren, etc. and I just man, I love just the wording in this style of, of like how you write and like how you type that up and, and just the, the phrases that you guys use, like, I, I love that tradition.

::

Unknown

because it brings, a reverence. It brings like a healthy fear of the Lord. It brings like, this is more than just a routine, you know, there's meaning behind this. There's there's tradition behind this. And I'm not talking about the traditions of man or, you know, but, like, there's there's a spiritual tradition here. It has real spiritual values.

::

Unknown

And I just I honor you guys. Like, I love how you value those things. I think that should be shared a little bit more in the faith. and just even learning more about our Jewish culture, I'm starting to dive into that. I'm like, man, like, now when I read scripture, things are just so different, like having some of the frame of mind of back then.

::

Unknown

yeah, man, it's this incredible. All right, I think, we'll move on to the last question here, and I know you you can talk into this a little bit, but that what is your biggest prayer as, as a believer, as a minister, as someone in the faith right now in your life person personally, what is your biggest prayer?

::

Unknown

Amen.

::

Unknown

Come on.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Right. Yeah.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

And.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

Wow.

::

Unknown

Dad. Yeah.

::

Unknown

True. Wow.

::

Unknown

I'll tell you what.

::

Unknown

Praise god. Come on, bro, I like how you just slip that in at the end. Oh, yeah. I'd second, you know, just for revival to come. Praise God, man, I'll tell you what. I felt the Lord's presence when you were sharing that. And that is not an easy. That's not an easy word. That's not an easy prayer. That's not an easy thought, you know, because I think that could ruffle a lot of Christians up.

::

Unknown

And praise God, I hope it does. I, I think that that is a very provocative thought. And for the Lord to speak that to you and for your response to be to cry and to weep with the love of the father, one once again, it's just a testament to you and your faith in your walk. And I just I applaud you and how you're spending time with them and diving in.

::

Unknown

But two like guys, did you hear that he's concerned that there are Christian, quote unquote, Christians who've attended church or who are attending church that may not go to heaven? And I think of the ten virgins with the oil, there was ten of them that were waiting on the groom. So this this doesn't mean that they were atheist or in this new age spiritualism or or anything like they were waiting.

::

Unknown

They were all waiting together for the same groom. They were all in church waiting for him to come, and five of them had their their wicks trimmed extra oil. They were progressing. They are ready for a journey. They're ready to rock and roll. And the others, they were foolish and they did not have, the proper oil. They they ran out.

::

Unknown

They did not have what it was they needed. They grew lazy in their faith. They didn't progress. They weren't ready for a journey. And when the groom came, the five that were ready went in, and the other five were left out. Wait. And that is just man, that's something I've been wrestling with. It's a sad reality. It's like if you are in church, if you are a quote unquote Christian, then you should be producing fruit.

::

Unknown

You should be producing fruit that is lasting, that keeps on giving that the Lord, the Lord said, once you come to a place of producing fruit that is lasting, like if you ask in my name, it will be given to you so that the father would be glorified. And I know you. You were talking about this earlier in this, earlier in the podcast, that if you are not producing fruit like you get chopped down, you get bundled up with the chaff and and thrown into the fire.

::

Unknown

And God takes his return on investment very seriously. And there's a Bible verse it says, do you not know that you are not your own, but that you have been purchased with the blood of Christ and our life is not our own, and our goal is to look at the end of the day, at the end of the road, at the literally at the end of each day and at the end of our road of our life, like we need to be continually looking more like Christ.

::

Unknown

And that's not like a strict, authoritative thing. It's God inside of you that does the work. It's his promise. But we need to be taking ourselves to him in genuine repentance and genuine faith, acting out not just being hearers, but doers, practitioners of what we learn at church in the word, with our time with Jesus. I just man, that really hit me when you when you shared that, man, it almost leaves me speechless to be honest.

::

Unknown

Wow. Amen.

::

Unknown

Yeah. Yes.

::

Unknown

Come on.

::

Unknown

Yes.

::

Unknown

Yes.

::

Unknown

Yeah.

::

Unknown

What? No. Those are. Those aren't your words. I'm telling you that that is the Lord speaking through you. I agree, I agree. If we cannot be alone, Rangers, there needs to be that sense of accountability. And it's just God. God did not make us to be alone. Can he sustain us by ourselves? Absolutely. He's God, he's incredible.

::

Unknown

He does amazing, miraculous things. But he never created us to be alone. It's always about unification. It's always about one. Just like the Father and Jesus were one. You know, Jesus actually prays that we would be one in them as well and as a body. So I, I, I'm just believing that with you. I think that is a great warning to the church at that, that should that should grip your hearts, that should have some type of reaction, whether you are a Bible believing, spirit filled love, Jesus, you know, Christian or one that's just sitting in there, kind of one pause.

::

Unknown

Maybe just one the bench and the other six days. You're not doing a whole lot with your faith. Some both ends of the spectrum should be gripped by a healthy fear of the Lord, a revelation there that's like, wow, we're both believing for the same Messiah. But it's how we wait on the Lord that reflects our salvation. So.

::

Unknown

Man. Wow! She's.

::

Unknown

The gates of hell will not prevail. Come on. You know this is the second. This is the second time that C.S. Lewis Screwtape Letters came up today. Today I was just meeting with one of my friends. He's a minister over in Japan. He's starting up his own whole ministry. And I actually get to go visit him in Japan, in March into April.

::

Unknown

And he was sharing today the same thing that you are talking about with The Screwtape Letters. And I just I've feel like a presence on that. I know that there's something there. And me personally, I'm going to dive in. I have to do it twice in one day. that's not a coincidence. God doesn't work like that. so I'm definitely going to be diving in and taking a look.

::

Unknown

I know there's a lot of wisdom keys in those books as well, even though it is fictional, I think there's a lot of truth behind it, just from what I've heard and points of views that we could look through like, oh man, because I was worried about someone's shoes squeaking. You know, I'm more concerned about the off tune person than I am about worshiping God.

::

Unknown

Wrong harp posture, wrong wrong perspective. God, thank you so much for spending time with us today and sharing your testimony, pieces of it and wisdom keys and what God is doing and just how we can start to equip ourselves as believers in Christ and take action and not sit on the sidelines and and really play this thing out.

::

Unknown

would you be able to pray for the viewers, those who are listening, and just pray this out?

::

Unknown

Amen. Guys. Thank you for tuning in to the Authentic podcast. Yeah, that is sales. The one with us. A true man of God. And it has just been an honor. Thank you for that call. You blessed in the name of Jesus.
