Hi, this is Stephanie Maas and today I want to share what I thought was a really neat feedback from a speaker I heard at a conference and they were giving their foundation of success and encouraged us to adopt it as our foundation as well.
Speaker:
It was very simple, just three little things.
Speaker:
Number one, work hard.
Speaker:
Sounds silly, but for them, working hard wasn't just a matter of how many hours you put into each day, but what you actually put into those hours.
Speaker:
I kind of heard it as work hard, but also work smart.
Speaker:
Second thing they talked about was being teachable.
Speaker:
You're never too old to learn how to do something new, something better.
Speaker:
Every single day we see it, it's remarkable.
Speaker:
What's happening, what's being created, what's being become better.
Speaker:
So you got to stay teachable.
Speaker:
And the third thing, and this was my favorite was you got to have the right attitude, specifically, you got to have an attitude of gratitude.
Speaker:
If you do, you will always have more than you need.
Speaker:
If you don't have an attitude of gratitude, you'll never have enough.
Speaker:
I thought that was kind of cool, but then also what is the fundamental success of business?
Speaker:
People.
Speaker:
And it just got me thinking about how we treat people in the midst of business.
Speaker:
Let's face it.
Speaker:
We are all business people.
Speaker:
We have to make business decisions every single day, but let me encourage you in the midst of all that business to remember people are the foundation.
Speaker:
You need to treat them well, treat them right, and remember the golden rule.
