This is the podcast that helps you to see that drinking less doesn't need to be stressful, lonely, or boring.

I'm your host, Sarah Williamson, and I decided to have a year alcohol free as a little life experiment and haven't looked back.

With my experience and training, I now help other people with their alcohol free or drink less adventures.

I can be masterful at putting something off, I mean masterful.

-:

I've got a variety of tasks that are outstanding at the moment.

-:

Some of them are urgent and important, some are urgent, Some are important.

-:

Some are neither urgent nor important but do need my attention soonish.

-:

Some should be delegated and so should never have snuck onto that list in the first place, and just as soon as I'm brave enough, I'm going to delete them. Not now though. Later.

-:

I've got to delete them later because, first, I need to overthink them.

-:

I need to ask other people's opinions.

-:

I need to take them off the list then put them back on.

-:

I also need to see who else has those things on their list and ask them how they took them off or ask why they left them on.

-:

I know that deep down I want to delete those tasks but I am afraid to.

-:

I don't know what will happen if I do, there's no predicting it.

-:

Can you see where I'm going with this?

-:

Let's pop drinking into the deleting a task box.

-:

If I'm going to consider a break from booze, a drink less experiment, a sober spring and or summer, I need to ask my friends what they think of my choice.

-:

I need to decide then change my mind.

-:

I need to know who else isn't drinking and ask them why.

-:

I know deep down I'd really benefit from this break from drinking but it feels enormous and putting it off is preferable to taking action right now.

-:

So is is the pain of changing worse or better than the pain of staying the same?

-:

If the pain of change would be better embraced, then when? When is the right time?

-:

I'm going to tell you straight up that now is the answer. Now will always be my answer.

-:

As soon as you've finished your drinking or when you are done with the hangovers, the low level brain fog, the rubbish nutritional

-:

and excellent sized choices you are making, you are done. If not now, then when? So it's when you've finished. Okay, I hear you.

-:

I took a long time to get finished with drinking. If not now, when?

-:

Is it after that wedding, the 40th or 50th birthday party, the festival?

-:

Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, we think we have to drink at all of these events. Guess what, dear listener? We don't. We absolutely do not.

-:

Tell me, what makes me think that you should do?

-:

Is it because it's what you've always done? Is it because it will be?

-:

Because it is what everybody else is doing?

-:

Is it because you're worried about what everyone else will say?

-:

I'm here to tell you it's okay. Yes. Those are valid thoughts.

-:

They'll be valid today and tomorrow, next week, next month, and after the wedding, the birthday, and the festival.

-:

You'll always tell me a reason why it cannot be now and I'll ask you again, if not now, when?

-:

Choose Choose now because now is ideal.

-:

Even if you choose now and choose it until the wedding, the party, the festival, you will have lined up a whole load of days

-:

of learning how it is to lead a drink less or sober lifestyle and maybe, just maybe, at that point you won't feel like drinking

-:

at that event anyway so it's no longer a problem. If not now, when?

-:

You know Mondays aren't good for new habits.

-:

You know the first Jan isn't brilliant for a year long resolution, so what's making you think that a future point is going to be the Holy Grail?

-:
