Shownotes

Steve thought he could move this week's OzDesk recording to Monday but whoops, Grant's working and isn't available. Despite that, Steve manages to cover a few news items, including:

  • A China Southern student pilot operating a solo flight with Moorabbin Aviation Services (aka Australian National Airline College) at Mangalore Airport had to make an emergency landing after a main wheel fell off the Piper Warrior he was flying. The whole landing was captured on video and all ended well for the student pilot.
  • Virgin Australia has switched over from Navitaire to the Sabre booking system and also switched their airline code from DJ to VA.
  • The RAAF's Chief of Air Force (CAF), Air Marshal Geoff Brown, announced the re-establishment of 35SQN to fly the C-27J Spartan, a battlefield airlifter.
