My tradition tells me 36 times not to oppress the stranger because I know what it is to be the stranger. Tonight, the stranger is someone else's community. The commandment doesn't have an exception clause for that. That is why Rabbi Block is doing an episode on anti-Muslim hatred instead of a Muslim scholar, an imam, someone who actually lives this.
Because Jewish ethics doesn't let me sit this one out.
