Shownotes

This week the Mikes are discussing the 2001 World War Two film, Enemy at the Gates, starring Jude Law, Ed Harris, Rachel Weisz, and Jospeh Fiennes. And both Mikes seem to agree that in this film's case, the "enemy" in the title is the story and the "gates" is the film.

A film that neither Mike Butler nor Mike Field have seen in full since its release in 2001, both discuss the problems with the story. From Weisz's completely unnecessary character, who only serves to create an even MORE unnecessary love triangle, to Ed Harris' supposed legendary German sniper who turns out to be...not so great. The film is filled with so many moments that it definitely seems like the script needed a few more drafts before production.

So, grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits to the left and right of you and settle down for Forgotten Cinema
