A recent article by Samantha Cole-Johnson titled. Biodynamic Viticulture in the Americas is an excellent overview of the history of Biodynamic winegrowing in the United States and beyond. The article notes that the one person that ties all of this together is the late Alan York. In this episode of Troon Talk, we bring together four people who worked with Alan and knew him well. We are joined by Garett Long, Troon director of agriculture, the outstanding Biodynamic agriculture consultant, Andrew Beedy, and special guests Barbara and Bill Steele, the founders and former owners of Cowhorn Vineyard and Garden here in the Applegate Valley.
