Rapp Report Daily 450 Is there a Waiting Period Between Death and Heaven/Hell? What happens after we die? Is there some sort of waiting period between death and whether we go to heaven or hell, the Roman Catholic church would call this purgatory. There are some who think that somehow there's this place where we go where we can work off the rest of our sins and eventually make our way to heaven unless really, really, really bad. However, there is no temporary place. What we see in Hebrews 9:27 it says, and just as it is appointed for man to die once and after that comes judgment, so you end up seeing is that it's appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment, there's no in-between. Now heaven and hell are a temporary place for we see in Revelation that, hell or Hades will be thrown into the Lake of fire. So the eternal resting place is the Lake of fire or the new heaven and new earth. So yes, in a sense we would think of as heaven and hell is a temporal place waiting for the eternal place. But that eternal place will also be a heaven or a hell being the Lake of fire. So, the idea that there's a place in between where we get a second chance as Mormonism or a Roman Catholicism with teach. We don't see that in the Bible. In the Bible, it is very clear. It's appointed unto man wants to die and then a judgment. The moment we die, we give account for what we've done.
