Speaker:

Hello and welcome to Women in

the Coaching Arena podcast.

2

:

I'm so glad you are here.

3

:

I'm Jo Lott, a business mentor

and ICF accredited coach

4

:

Microphone (Samson Q2U Microphone):

and I help coaches to

5

:

build brilliant businesses.

6

:

I know that when you prepare to enter

the arena, there is fear, self doubt,

7

:

comparison, anxiety, uncertainty, shame.

8

:

You can tend to armor up and

protect yourself from vulnerability.

9

:

In this podcast, I'll be sharing

honest, not hype, practical and

10

:

emotional tools to support you to make

the difference that you are here for.

11

:

Dare greatly.

12

:

You belong in this arena.

13

:

Welcome to episode 41 of

women in the coaching arena.

14

:

I am so glad you are here.

15

:

Today, I'm excited to talk about

something slightly different than I

16

:

normally talk about in this podcast.

17

:

So it's about maximizing your

impact and how you can scale and

18

:

leverage your coaching and expertise.

19

:

This is pretty much how I run my business

because my goal is to help a million

20

:

coaches to successfully grow their

business and make the most of their

21

:

coach training just slightly ambitious.

22

:

So, if I am acting in accordance

with my goal, then I need to have

23

:

a leverage model, which is why I

do have, a group program to help

24

:

as many people as I can to do this.

25

:

This means a lot to me because there

are so many coach training organizations

26

:

churning out coaches who have absolutely

no idea that it's actually going to

27

:

take quite a lot of work after that

qualification to grow their business.

28

:

So I'm on a mission to help more

coaches to actually sell their

29

:

coaching and actually get to do that

work that they have trained for.

30

:

Obviously it's a transformational journey.

31

:

It helps you with your own self-awareness

and there are so many other benefits.

32

:

But if you do go into it, wanting to

set up a coaching business, I really

33

:

want to help more people to actually

do that and be aware that this might

34

:

actually take a small bit of work.

35

:

So, if we're thinking about why you might

want to scale and leverage your business.

36

:

Maybe you have a big goal to help

as many people as you possibly can.

37

:

I think many of us have learned a

lesson in life perhaps, and we want

38

:

to share our learnings from that

lesson so no one else has to suffer.

39

:

It's a bit like when you hear the really

terrible instances happen in people's

40

:

lives and they dedicate their entire life

to campaigning so that more people don't

41

:

have to go through what they went through.

42

:

And I think a lot of

coaches want to do that.

43

:

That's certainly why I do this work.

44

:

Because you're essentially

saving your former self.

45

:

Creating what you wish you had.

46

:

There may be other reasons why

you want to move to this model.

47

:

Maybe you have really limited time.

48

:

Like I do.

49

:

I work school hours only.

50

:

Term time only.

51

:

So you do have really short

amount of time in your day.

52

:

By the time you've done your

marketing and all your things.

53

:

It's something that you have

to balance alongside your work.

54

:

So let's start with two pivotal words.

55

:

That I would love you to think about

if this is your goal going forward.

56

:

So those two words are scale and leverage.

57

:

These aren't just buzzwords.

58

:

They are the cornerstones of transforming

your coaching business into one that

59

:

can help as many people as possible.

60

:

In the most effective way.

61

:

So, what do they mean in the context of

coaching or knowledge-based businesses?

62

:

It's about expanding your capacity to

be able to sell more clients without a

63

:

proportional increase in your workload.

64

:

Scaling is about expanding your

capacity to serve more clients without a

65

:

proportional increase in your workload.

66

:

And leverage on the other hand is about

utilizing your existing resources.

67

:

That might be your intellectual property

or systems that you have created.

68

:

So in this episode, we will

talk about how you can maximize

69

:

your output and efficiency.

70

:

Starting with your coaching capacity.

71

:

Let's say for argument's sake,

you have a capacity of 10 clients.

72

:

And that is your limit given

the hours that you have with

73

:

your current one-to-one model.

74

:

But what if you could reach not just

10 clients, but a hundred clients.

75

:

Imagine the impact that you could have,

not just on your business, but on the

76

:

lives of those additional clients.

77

:

This is where scaling and

leverage come into play.

78

:

This is something I'm working

on a lot at the moment because

79

:

I do run a group program.

80

:

So I have a scalable program.

81

:

But in all honesty, it does currently

require a lot of my energy in order

82

:

to give my clients the best results

and so I'm constantly working on how

83

:

I can improve my processes while still

providing the knowledge, love, care.

84

:

For them to be seen, heard,

celebrated, championed.

85

:

All of that is super important for me.

86

:

So it's something I'm working on a

lot at the moment, and I'm excited

87

:

that yesterday I had quite an

exciting conversation with someone.

88

:

That may be really pivotal

in my future program.

89

:

Because I don't want to create a lost in

the crowd program because there are a lot

90

:

of them out there where you will sign up

and you won't know anyone and you won't

91

:

feel like a valued part of that community.

92

:

But if I want to continue my mission,

which I do, then need to think long

93

:

and hard about how I can bring in the

elements that are super important to me.

94

:

And create a scalable way of doing them.

95

:

So a really simple example is

that I currently order lots of

96

:

little gifts to send my clients.

97

:

I order personalized cards and

then I order the envelopes and

98

:

then I handwrite the label.

99

:

And then I go down to the post office

and post them in this lovely package.

100

:

But eventually I really need to

have a company that I can say.

101

:

Here are five people's

names and addresses.

102

:

Instead of it being me, taking my

time and energy to do that task.

103

:

Personalization is my value that I

want in my business, which is why

104

:

I'm at this point now where I need to

consider how I can continue to offer

105

:

the personalized time energy thought,

love care I want in my business, but

106

:

with other people supporting me to

automate some of the things I do,

107

:

the gifts being a perfect example.

108

:

So let's talk about

strategies for scaling.

109

:

To scale your coaching

business, you really need to

110

:

rethink your delivery model.

111

:

So how can you transform your one-to-one

coaching into a one to many model?

112

:

This might include creating online

courses that people can do at

113

:

their own pace, or group coaching.

114

:

Or there are other models, like the

membership model where it's a lower

115

:

cost, but they get the training and a

little bit of support, but usually it's

116

:

not as extensive as a group program.

117

:

So we need to think about how you can

package your knowledge and expertise

118

:

up in a way that's accessible and

valuable to a larger audience.

119

:

Let's move on to the power of leverage.

120

:

So leverage is making your existing

assets work harder for you.

121

:

This might be in your marketing.

122

:

So for example, I create this podcast

and what I do to leverage the podcast,

123

:

the energy I'm putting in now.

124

:

Is I ask my VA to turn this

podcast into a blog post.

125

:

She also turns it into a LinkedIn article.

126

:

That's two extra things

I've done with my podcast.

127

:

I also now use my podcast to create

all of my social media posts.

128

:

So that is how you can leverage

what you are currently doing

129

:

to really multiply the impact.

130

:

I could go way further.

131

:

For example, I could add this to YouTube.

132

:

I can create short reels from

what I'm saying and sound bites.

133

:

So it's about constantly thinking, okay,

I'm putting all this energy into this.

134

:

How can I make the most of it?

135

:

This could be automation.

136

:

So things like the best emails

that you've ever sent to your list.

137

:

How can we bring those

into your nurture sequence?

138

:

How can we have standardized processes

when someone signs up to work with you?

139

:

How can we really help things be

seamless so it doesn't take your

140

:

time and energy again and again.

141

:

Let's move into the practical

steps now to scale and leverage.

142

:

What are those practical steps

that you can take right now?

143

:

I would start by assessing

your current offerings.

144

:

Seeing, if you have anything already

that can be adapted for larger audience.

145

:

Maybe you have a really popular

coaching session or program, maybe

146

:

you have a great way of helping people

find their strengths or their values.

147

:

Can you create a webinar

or a short course?

148

:

If we're looking at your processes,

where can you automate or delegate tasks?

149

:

Remembering that if this is your

goal, every decision you make from

150

:

now on should be filtered through

this lens of scale and leverage.

151

:

Instead of replying to a client

once with yay, I'm so glad

152

:

you're joining the program.

153

:

You can have a template that you can

use time and time again, so we can

154

:

eventually automate that entire process

so you can help more people in less time.

155

:

So as we wrap up today's episode, I would

love to leave you with this thought.

156

:

Scaling and leveraging aren't

just about growing your business.

157

:

They are about multiplying your impact.

158

:

This is why I do this work.

159

:

It's not really about growing my business.

160

:

It's just this complete mission

to help more coaches to create

161

:

amazing coaching businesses.

162

:

So, if you are ready to take this

journey, I would love to guide you.

163

:

Creating a group program that

is a raved about program.

164

:

So we don't want to create a program

that is your second rate service.

165

:

I want to help people to create a

group program, which is a flagship

166

:

program that they become known for.

167

:

Where they have more case studies raving

about the program than anyone else.

168

:

I strive for this in my business.

169

:

You are very welcome to look

at my website and my case

170

:

studies, joannalottcoaching.com.

171

:

And you'll find that most people rave on

about working with me, despite the fact

172

:

we have never worked one-to-one together.

173

:

So that is the impact that I want

people to have with their group program.

174

:

A program where they have designed

the most amazing supportive

175

:

environment that gets results.

176

:

So, if you are ready

to scale and leverage.

177

:

Usually this does mean you

have sold your services before.

178

:

You have some sort of audience, or maybe

you have a strong network or organizations

179

:

you're wishing to sell your program

to then I would love to invite you to

180

:

apply for my new program which will

help you to build a premium flagship

181

:

group coaching program or online course.

182

:

We start on Thursday, the

th of January at:

183

:

UK time.

184

:

It is a 12 week program

because I've thought long and

185

:

hard about making it longer.

186

:

But actually is something that

you need quite a lot of energy

187

:

behind to really make it work.

188

:

It's not something you can really drag out

or you will procrastinate and lose energy.

189

:

So we will be done by Easter.

190

:

You can then have your program out there.

191

:

I will be designing it so you can presale

your program within the first four

192

:

weeks of 11th of January if you wish to.

193

:

And so that you can launch it within

the period of us working together.

194

:

If that's too soon for you, you will gain

lifetime access to the training portal.

195

:

So you can go through this

process at your own pace.

196

:

Anytime you want.

197

:

If you are interested, I have eight

spaces available for this program.

198

:

It's the first time I've run it.

199

:

So I'm offering an incredible

price of £:

200

:

monthly installments of 750 pounds.

201

:

This isn't something I have on my agenda

as a permanent thing in my business.

202

:

This is a one-off program.

203

:

I am starting on the 11th of January.

204

:

So if you want to do it, jump in, then

this isn't an evergreen program . So,

205

:

if you are thinking about moving to a

scale and leverage model and you are

206

:

looking for sign that this is the time.

207

:

Then this is your sign.

208

:

If you have already created a group

program or launched there, and it hasn't

209

:

been successful, particularly in the past.

210

:

This is still for you because there are

often really small things you can do.

211

:

Like for example, I noticed with a

lot of my clients who do this is they

212

:

don't actually launch their program.

213

:

They maybe put one post out saying.

214

:

I'm launching this thing and

then I never see it again.

215

:

And there is a psychological buyer

journey you need to take people

216

:

on and it does require a launch.

217

:

In other words, a lot of energy behind

what you are doing to really help people

218

:

to feel excited to take that next step.

219

:

If that is you, I would love to help

you to make it happen this time.

220

:

Thank you for listening

to today's episode.

221

:

I will leave you with my favorite

222

:

in yourself and be the wise Gardner

who keeps on watering the seed.
